Cabin was nice but a little worn. One bedside lamp did not work and one bulb in the dressing table light was burned out. The button to flush the toilet sometime worked and sometime didn't. The cabin was very quiet and off the beaten path of hallway traffic. The balcony was well used when visiting Tracy Arm & Glacier Bay. Best sure to get a port side cabin on the Alaskan trips. While they do swing the boat around, it always seems to be a longer viewing time on the port side. Read entire member review >>
Room 8168 OK. Nice room service. Had to get the air con fixed but then it worked the whole voyage. The fridge didnt work but they put fresh ice in a bucket each day which was lovely. It was roomy with a good size shower.Probably would prefer a room a little closer to the lifts and on deck 7 next time so the moving of deck chairs at night one floor up on 9 couldnt be heard.... though it really wasnt too bad and didnt last more than an hour. Couldnt hear the parties up there so nice quiet nights in general. Read entire member review >>
The cabin was clean and spacious, the TV was very small. The cabin was always cold as I could not regulate the air conditioning or switch it off. We were on deck 8 which is below the pool deck. You could hear the chairs scraping and people running. Read entire member review >>
Bed was comfy, the room was accommodating, the TV was awful and needed to be replaced and not many channels offered. Cabin attendants were great and the room needs updating. But it was clean. Read entire member review >>
The cabin was adequate, although my husband really needed a chair to sit in because he suffers from a knee problem. We were able to keep iPads fully charged even though there was only one electrical outlet plug we could use. Read entire member review >>
Loved our cabin! Loved our steward! The only downside was when people propped their balcony doors open with the stupid TV on!! We go on a cruise to relax and unplug, not listen to your crappy TV! Read entire member review >>
Very good. Good location.
Great for 4. There is a bunk bed configuration.
Balcony is a good size. 3 full chairs and a small table/ chair.
Lots of bumping and scrapping from the floor above. You get used to it. Read entire member review >>
Sufficient room. Storage was adequate for the two of us. Lack of outlets made charging phones difficult. Balcony was big...three chairs and table. Overhang on Deck 8 at first made me wish we had selected a different cabin but it ended up providing protection from wind and rain and we actually really liked it. Lido is right above so sometimes could hear carts rolling etc. but not often enough to have any impact. Bed was extremely comfortable as well as bedding and pillows. Read entire member review >>
We were on deck 7 with an extended balcony. We were in the middle of the section so we had excellent views left and right. Carnival has put up partitions so it's now very hard to see who might be on the balcony next to you, which is just fine by us! Read entire member review >>
Lots of storage! Suitcases fit under the bed. Had a pull down bunk bed and a sofa bed under it. Only one power outlet literally ONE so a power adapter or at least a splitter is a must. Read entire member review >>
The room size is about the same as most of the balcony rooms. The balcony is about 20% bigger. This room is good if you have many sea days as the balcony is recessed from the front part of the ship. You can sit out in the balcony without been blown away by the wind when the ship is moving. The room location also give you quick access to the buffet and Serenity area. Read entire member review >>
Normal extended balcony cabin except for one small difference. A 28 FOOT BALCONY WOWWWWW.Due to its position on the ship the balcony is massive and this room cost no extra than the one next door with the 7 ft balcony. Read entire member review >>
We were in room 8175 and it suited us, queen bed, a sofa and the pull down top bunk. Plenty of wardrobe space and hangers. Our 4 empty suitcases fitted under the queen bed with ease. The only negative thing I will say about the room is that it had one of the old style TV's...not the flat screen as advertised and the TV had a green tinge to the screen....but that is the only bad thing about the room. We were a bit concerned about the noise that we would get when deck party (theme nights) were taking place....Yes, there was noise...but not as much as I expected, more from moving deckchairs around and not enough to stop you falling asleep or to wake you from sleep (and I am a light sleeper!) We were upgraded to an extended balcony but this was not the bonus we initially thought. The location was good being near the lifts and one floor below the lido deck but the noise was non stop, either from chairs scraping on the floors above or noisy kids slamming doors and jumpi g from beds (that's what it sounded like). Standard Extended balcony room which is only a twin/double capacity but with the benefits of being a non special needs room (less chance of being moved) and a balcony 3 times longer than a balcony room. Spent a lot of time here on the balcony. It was quiet with an adjoining ice machine room which we never heard anything from. Read entire member review >>
Cabin 7223, extended balcony, was roomy, clean and comfortable. This was a great location for getting to the main elevators and all the venues. The extended balcony was much nicer than the regular balcony, as there was room to stretch your legs out and get around the furniture. If you're going to pay extra for a balcony, you want to be able to spend some time out there and be comfortable. Closets were roomy. Bathroom was typical. My only complaint of any of the Carnival cabins I've had is that there is only one electrical outlet and it is at the vanity and not near the bed. My husband and I both use CPAP machines for sleep and have to have an extension cord running across the cabin and behind our pillows in order for both of us to plug in our machines. Very spacious balcony cabin with lots of storage. Bathroom was roomy & the shower cubicle certainly big enough. Plenty of shelves to put toiletries on. Wardrobes could do with a few extra hangers but I always take extra anyway. Bed was very comfortable & there was room to store suitcases underneath. Fresh towels twice a day & lovely thick bath robes. We were able to have the balcony divider opened so that we could share the space with our friends in the next cabin Read entire member review >>
Our room was a balcony, but we had noise at night coming from the kitchen area above. All night long we could hear carts rolling, along floors and through doorways. We advised guest services the first night, and on the second night we called them in the middle of the second night and a staff member came in. They did not have any other rooms, and since we already had a balcony we were not looking for an upgrade - just a peaceful sleep. They offered us a discount, but this really wasn't what we wanted - we did not expect this continued nightly noise from the staff and kitchen. The neighbouring rooms had the same noise problem. I guess we will be more careful in booking our location on the next cruise.
The room was fairly large, with a larger balcony, but there was gob of food dirt on the outside the balcony glass that was there for the entire cruise, even after they cleaned the balcony (since it was on the outside the glass).
Bed was comfortable. Room was adequate. Still old fashioned TV's that stuck out on shelf and I kept hitting my head on it. Nice when they convert to flat screens.
No creams, moisturizers, in the bathroom - shampoo in dispenser on the wall. Pretty bare minimum - they did provide bathrobes. Read entire member review >>
Room was small like all ships. Cabin Steward was okay, wasn't super friendly. Balcony leaked on windy days, sounded like our room was haunted by a spooky ghost. Way outdated decor. Haunted TV that would turn on randomly at night and wake you. Read entire member review >>
Great balcony and room was in a good location midship. We had extended balcony that was worth the money. However when you look down you see lifeboats but it should not bother you b/c its an unobstructed view out to the ocean. Read entire member review >>
Quiet location yet east to get to elevators. Room was dusty. Cabin size was fine as was closet space. Nice to have the sofa and table in the room. made it easy to have room-service there. balcony was really big. The reclining chairs were nice! Read entire member review >>
Cabin 8232. We had an extended balcony. The balcony was way bigger than I imagined. It had 2 lounge chairs, 4 regular chairs, and two tables. About 3 times the size of a regular balcony. Totally worth it. We were on the 8th floor right under the buffet. Early every morning carts rolling across the floor woke me up. Other than that we didn't hear any noise. Plenty of storage space, even in the bathroom. Bed was pretty comfortable. Only one floor away from Lido deck. You could get food from the buffet and take to your room easily. Near the elevator but did not hear any noise from it. Read entire member review >>
Cabin 5121 - nice size, great balcony, okay location. Wind roared through our room the entire cruise. Need better insulation around doors to prevent the noise. I would definitely update the Televisons and find away to offer more stations Read entire member review >>
We were in cabin 7180 on the Veranda deck, mid-ship, extended balcony. Wonderful unobstructed view from this balcony. The extended balcony I believe is deeper, not wider than a standard balcony. The cabin is spacious enough for 2 people to get around, it's about the same length as a regular standard hotel room but only about 1/2 as wide maybe. You don't need a lot of room, you aren't in there long enough to worry about the size. Bathroom is tiny but again you aren't in there long. Closet space and drawer space was ample for two people, even 4 people would be fine with the storage. It's a smart use of space overall. Did not hear any noise from any other cabins, just minor noises in the hallway when people were getting on with their day, to be expected really. Did not experience any engine noise or vibration in this location, no excessive movement of the ship either. It was perfect. It was a reasonable distance to the elevators and stairs too and pretty centrally located on the ship. Read entire member review >>
Only issue we experienced, was our cabin 5123, I booked late and didnt have much choice, it is a connecting cabin, I didnt realize this until we were in and could hear lots of noise the first couple of hours, but we were fortunate the people were really quiet all week, but, had they been rowdy and partiers or with kids, you could have a problem.
The other problem was when the early show at 7pm or the late at 9pm are on and it includes music the whole cabin will vibrate, literally the first night the music started, we called Guest Services as we assumed the cabin below us the people must have had,a major stereo system in the cabin. The floor in the bathroom was vibrating as well as the deck. You couldnt hear the TV. Guest Services told us it was the show music and would be over. We were usually out and missed most of the noise but one evening were back before the show ended and again the vibration was unbelievable. We realized after looking at the diagram of the ship the cabin was located above the Follies Theatre...be aware if you are booking this cabin or ones around it, I cant imagine how loud it was on the 4th deck. 7198 was a nice cabin. It had plenty of closet space with space beneath the bed to store our luggage. The balcony was roomy. It was not a problem for us but will mention here that the view looking down was obstructed by the lifeboats but that certainly wasn't a problem. It was a pretty quiet cabin but on a few occasions we heard a rumbling or vibration in the middle of the night but it wasn't enough to keep us awake. 7198 is in a good location not far from the midship stairs. For a balcony, it was a very nice room. A tad cozy, but not to small. The bed had a comfortable mattress and we slept well. The art on the walls was a bit too artsy for my taste. Big deal, huh?
The colors are nice, and carpeting is in great shape.
You'd never know she had the constant traffic on her that she does.
We always like the 6th deck, Empress, because it's quiet. Read entire member review >>
Our cabin was like all others we've had with Carnival-185 sq ft. Clean, comfortable, plenty of storage. We had a problem w/ shower water pressure, guest services basically blew us off, so my dh cleaned out the shower head and water pressure was great after that. Min bar temp was not too cool. Extended balcony was nice, but I wouldn't pay extra to get it. Deck 8 mid-ship was quieter than we expected it to be. No overhead noise bothered us. Read entire member review >>
Our stateroom was right after mid-ship on the Panorama deck and i wouldn't recommend it at all, the noise from people dragging chairs across the lido deck all night is loud and annoying. I got one good nights sleep the rest were interrupted by all the banging. Read entire member review >>
Nice and quiet, with plenty of storage. We could have used more hangers, but there were 4 of us (families may want to bring some extras). I didn't like the extended balcony - it was set back from the standard balconies so the view was obstucted. There was plenty of room to sit with our feet up, but only one of our chairs reclined. This was our first Extended Balcony. It is not that much bigger and I would not pay extra for it over a regular balcony. We were in cabin 7167. The Room Steward was great. There was a bit of noise of something slamming closed during the early morning hours. Never quite figured out what it was. I would not take a 7 night cruise without benefit of a balcony. More fresh air and good views at night. 5 Night cruise would be a tossup between an interior and a balcony. Less than 5 nights would definitely be an interior. I would not pay for an Oceanview. Last year we were more midship. The walking from forward to aft help burn off some of that delicious food that we over sampled. Read entire member review >>
Cabin 8175, it was fine, a little noisy sometimes on the balcony but considering it was right under the Lido, it was fine. Very occasional noise from the Lido in the cabin itself, but not bothersome. Overall, it was a good cabin and I'd book it again. Read entire member review >>
We chose a room slightly forward on the Verandah deck (7) for the lower noise factor. The room size was adequate with ample storage. The mattress was average. The room decor was commensurate with the price of the cruise.
I found the room safe system another example of a bad decision by Carnival management. The safe required use of another mag strip credit card other than your room card. This defeats the purpose of a cruise ship safe,i.e., leave everything of any value locked up. The safe should have had a keypad system instead of requiring a person to carry their room card and that additional credit card.
The toilet sounded like you could flush a whole head of cabbage down it but I wouldn't recommend trying it.
Turning on the television always defaulted to a loud verses soft volume. I found this irritating. Read entire member review >>
Cabin 7186- Size expected, balcony extended I had to clean the drain tracks and windows a few times I'm a bit of a clean freak. My husband and I commented that the rooms are showing wear. The lamp shades were fraying and there was a cigarette hole on the sofa little things like that. The floors around the ship were noticeably shiny. Read entire member review >>
Enough closet space for three people who over-packed. Quiet room. No problems with noise. You do feel the movement of the ship when you sleep. Roomy balcony. In-room safe is a nice touch. Good quality complimentary toiletries. Very convenient to aft elevators. Read entire member review >>
We had cabin 7182 and our friends had 7184 on Carnival Legend. They were adjoining rooms and connecting balconies. They were conveniently located mid ship and we were always near an elevator.
These were 8K extended balconies and we loved them. We will definitely get these rooms again! Read entire member review >>
Extended Balcony- Nice size room and balcony. Bathroom was fine. Little noisy being on 8 and under 9 but not a problem for us. Hallway was quiet, easy access to stairs and elevators. Read entire member review >>
I loved our cabin. It was perfect for 2. We put our luggage under our bed. We stocked the mini fridge with sodas and made our own drinks using travel mugs. The bathroom was small but worked just fine. Ample closet/drawer space. The balcony really was the high point of this cabin. The bed was extremely comfortable. Read entire member review >>
Cabin 7184 (Extended Balcony - level 8K)
Once you go balcony, you'll never go back! We had the most amazing extended balcony room (not a cabin!) and we loved sitting out on our balcony every morning and every night sipping coffee or wine and watching the beautiful sea. We even spotted dolphins swimming alongside our ship from our balcony. The size of the room, the amenities, the lovely turn-down service each night with a different towel animal waiting for you, was a wonderful way to end the day. I felt the king size bed was a bit hard, but the pillows were marvelous. The room stewards were exceptional and always addressed us throughout the cruise by our first names - first class treatment! Slightly obstructed view -- the cabins just forward of this one jut out about an extra 5 feet, so you can't see forward. Good storage -- 3 closets, 2 with hanging bars and 1 chest-of-drawers closet, 2 nightstands, 3 usable drawers, and a narrow cabinet. Not much hallway noise, about halfway between 2 sets of elevators.
Good cabin aside from the view. Read entire member review >>
Carnival Legend cabin 7277. Extended balcony cabin. The balcony was a nice escape when you didn't want to be around all the other people. The room was more than adequate for 2 people. It had everything we needed. It was in a quiet location. Not a huge long walk from the elevators, but far enough away that we didn't get the noise. Read entire member review >>
