First off let me say that I am not an avid cruiser. This was my 5th cruise in a 20 year span. My family and I have always cruised Royal Caribbean and decided to give Carnival a shot since the port is only 3.5 hours from our home. To begin with I had a lot of questions about the Carnival process and came here to Cruise Critic for help and it paid off. Learning the little tricks of the ship and ...
Chose this cruise based on Port of departure and date of sailing. It being our first cruise we decided 5 nights was plenty, and I was correct.
The Pros: All the staff were professional and courties.
Embarkation was quick. We had faster to the fun, and were on board by 11:30am
Fellow passengers were friendly, met a few regulars who gave me some good tips.
The Cons: Food in Buffet ...
This was a long awaited family cruise. We upgraded to a spa balcony cabin and was looking forward to a week of relaxation and time with family.
I am a long time cruise traveler.
This was the worst experience! The worst week! My thoughts were that I wish I could have departed the ship but of course you are trapped on it until you return to port.
Our cabin was a nightmare!
Wet floors on ...
So many problems with this cruise most related to the cabin.
We were accommodating at first even with the carpet being wet and blowers running to dry it out upon arrival....not exactly a great first impression.
Had we only known that was only the beginning of the problems with this stateroom.
Anyone considering cruising on the Carnival Vista should be aware this ship has multiple ...
Dream is a conquest class ship so it has the atrium elevators that hit most floors. It is really a shame they put this extra elevator bank in the Forward of the ship where the elevators are needed the least. They would be much more useful mid or aft, especially when they reserve elevators for luggage or repairs (elevators showing floor X). I would say the Dream is close to what I recall Magic ...
Ship itself: Very clean, some reviews I read said that it was dirty but this was definitely not the case. It can be a little confusing the first day finding your way around the ship. Our cabin was at the back of the ship but our dining room was at the very front of the ship in the Lincoln Dining Room. My best advice to get across the boat is to go down to floor 2 where you can walk all the way ...
We wanted to take my daughter and some of her friends on a short cruise as a graduation present. We chose Carnival because it was an economical way to travel. Meals and entertainment were included in the price of the trip. Plus, it departed from Charleston SC, which is close to our house, so we didn’t have to pay for airfare.
We have happily and satisfactorily cruised many times with Royal ...
This was a total nightmare definitely not family oriented! Cabin was not cleaned on appointed time. Naked women in main pool area with carnival photographer taking photographs. Faster to fun DOES NOT work on this ship!(you will not be redunded) guest services very very rude. Server (dinner time) laughed and made fun of my husband because he refused alcoholic drinks( recovering ...
My family chose this cruise because it was not very costly and we heard carnival was good and it was a ship close to home. The overall experience on the boat was fantastic staff was great our housekeeper or steward Gede did a great job always had our room clean and always had a big smile on his face to serve us an all around great guy! All the staff all around did great and always had smiles on ...
9 out of 10 hand sanitizers are empty. Cabin is HOT! I have 2 fans that I brought on board and wouldn’t have made it without them. The two cabins next to mine received room credits because their rooms were so hot. Food: it is without a doubt the worst food ever. I’m you like bland carbs that taste less me cardboard then this cruise is for you. Only decent food is Guys Burgers. Nightly dining room ...
