Mixed Bag: Carnival Cruise Dream Review

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Carnival Dream

My recent voyage aboard the Carnival Cruise Dream from April 6th to 14th was a rollercoaster of experiences, ranging from delightful surprises to disappointing letdowns. Let's start with the positives. Among the sea of mediocrity, two stars shone brightly. Dewa, our room attendant, embodied excellence in customer service. His attention to detail and friendly demeanor made our stay memorable. ...

We were very pleased with the cruise BUT we always get a balcony and right below our balcony was a whirlpool with a very bright light that shined into our room all night. We couldn't stand out on our balcony and enjoy the view because there were people in the whirlpool all day long, every day looking back at us! We felt very uncomfortable because we felt they thought we were staring at them. Phil ...

Carnival is obviously struggling to pay off its debt from the pandemic. I have never been on a cruise where there was so much disorganization, poor customer service, weary employees, ineffective systems, and general apathy. The Carnival Hub app is not very good. It does not show OBC at the onset of a cruise. It does not automatically transfer casino credits to your account. It does not ...

At first, we were really disappointed with the Dream. Then, things kind of turned around a little during the final sea days. The good things: -- The ship and staterooms seemed very clean. -- The Alchemy Bar was a kick. Engaging, professional bartenders. Good drinks (although not cheap at $14 for a cocktail). -- The Bonsai Japanese restaurant was one of our favorites. The food and ...

This was my 35th cruise, but first ever NYE cruise. This cruise was myself, husband, daughter and her husband(this was his first cruise). Embarkment was fairly quick and easy. We were on this ship by 11:45am. Dropped off our luggage at our Spa Balcony cabin on deck 12 and headed to the Lido for lunch and a cocktail. Guy's Burger was delish as always. I didn't eat at the Lido buffet all ...

Good rest but questionable service.

Nothing like formal night, asking for reserved wine and them losing it. Then issue not being resolved until after dessert. One would think losing a $10 bottle of wine you are charging nearly $50 for would be taken care of immediately. First response was will will give you a glass at no charge. Then waiting until after the meal seemed like vengeance while they lost what I paid for. Additionally, ...

This was our first cruise since covid, but my sixth cruise over all and fourth cruise on Carnival. So from the beginning. We decided to book this trip last minute after suffering two deaths in the family as a way to decompress from the losses. So in September we started looking for a cruise out of Galveston being we reside in Texas and didn't want to fly to Florida. Even though we wanted to take ...

We choose this cruise to celebrate thanksgiving and a family birthday. It was a terrible disappointment. The food in the dining room was atrocious. Not good on the lido buffet either. The steak house was passable. The atmosphere in the steakhouse is nice. My importantly we had a medical issue at 1:00am. The medical clinic is closed. So if you have emergency in middle of night this is not ...

We've been on many cruises, most on Carnival, but this was the worst cruise we've been on for many reasons. We paid a lot of money for a balcony room and were put on the lowest floor with a balcony that was always wet with standing water, rust, and at times had a terrible sewage odor. Our last day on the ship the sewage smell was in our room. There were not enough electrical outlets in the ...

What a change in the food from November on the Glory. My wife and I how does a chef mess up onion soup, or mushroom soup ? That is only the beginning. We ate in MDR, the other dining room, buffet, Guys Burgers, the Deli, Blue Iguana.Service was SLOW in MDR. Does not appear to be enough staff working. One night it took 2 1/4 hours to get our dessert. We have been on 40 cruises. Boy has the food ...
