We were booked on this cruise as part of a 3 cruise package, the other two cruises being on Caribbean Princess and Cunard QM2. We knew Carnival had the reputation of being a party ship but we had no idea of how bad the whole week would be. First some good things: the staff are amazing and cannot do enough for you; our cabin was nice, spacious and comfortable; dinner in the Black Pearl was good ...
Cabin was under pool/ lido deck tables and chairs, heard scraping movement from 4:00 am, to 12:30 am. The movie by the sea people were noisier than the ones at the pool during the day !!! Our cabin 8335 is directly under this area. DO NOT B OOK this cabin, or ask CARNIVAL to re- insulate the room!!
No rest on my FALL BREAK!!! Cabin itself was fine, just the noises above!!!
The ship was ...
This was a family reunion and we picked the ship for its affordability and the ship itself was not bad, though dated. The service was something else. First, there was never anyone around to ask questions to and we had new cruisers with us. I did not know that you needed to pick a morning or evening time to have your suite serviced. We never saw our room steward after the first day. Bar ...
Chose this cruise for a quick get away. Love RC, however this itinerary/price allowed me to enjoy my third cruise this year. Love Guy's Burgers and also wanted to experience Carnival's old fashion BBQ for the first time. Took advantage of a casino offer as well.
The amentities on this cruise were overall great. Service was substandard. Room steward was not to be found. I believe we may have saw ...
The cruise was chosen by another family member because of price and port. We were going for something that everyone could afford and that was out of Galveston.
In Cozumel we only did the local shopping area, while others of our group rented a car online (much cheaper) and drove around the island to a beach to snorkel.
In Progresso some of our group went on a private tour which included ...
This was my first time sailing with Carnival. I've always traveled with Royal Caribbean, so some of my comments may be a result of being "used to" a different cruise line.
Embarkation -
We arrived on time and the line through security moved fairly quickly. However, once we got through it, we waited almost an hour before starting to make our way onto the ship. I would have preferred to use ...
We booked this cruise because it is Carnival's flag ship which we had not been on yet, and we liked the original Eastern itinerary which was switched to a Southern itinerary. The new ports were ok, but we had just been to those same ports six months ago. We didn't book any excursions through the ship. We loved the free pool at Amber Cove, so we mostly hung out at the pool, drank local beer, and ...
This was our very first cruise, so our nerves were high with excitement. The boarding process was relativity easy. We decided to get the indoor parking which shuttled us to the dock. The shuttle drivers and porters were very courteous and helpful. Upon boarding the ship everything was clean and lively. Waiting on an elevator was a pain, but to be expected on the first day. We booked an ...
I traveled a few of the Carnival ships this was just another, or I thought, till I spent a week with her. Great time, great crew. It was an easy embarkation- went from signing in at the check in to the Lido deck for a quick bite. Then to our cabin to unpack. Followed by a quick muster. From there we met with our meet and great group had a few drinks, followed by a return to our cabin to ...
Chose this cruise because I wanted to sail on Carnials newest ship. Although I had a great cruise, as I believe a cruise is what you make of it, I am done with Carnivals newer ships. Although the older ones may be considered 'gaudy', they are COMFORTABLE, the new ships are NOT!
Reasons: The Liquid Lounge.. Is thee anything good about it? Chairs are too close, smaller, and please, please ...
