We love Journey Cruises. The staff was excellent. We received royal treatment from Ramesh the Maitre'd. We attended our first "Chef's Table" - what an experience. The comics are improving. Really enjoyed the ballroom dancing classes. Our ports of call were excellent. The trip thru the new Panama Canal locks was interesting but it is better to go thru the entire locks. We would prefer that ...
My family chose this cruise specifically for the Turks port, which we did not visit. Initially, the weather was to hold us back, then we found out other ships were able to get into the Turks. Carnival took us to Freeport, which is quite simply a port with very little sign of life there. This was my sister's 60th birthday cruise and her first, so we wanted it to be special for her. Not so ...
Lack of follow-up: We had a significant issue when the bar staff served alcohol to my wife, who order a virgin drink due to being allergic to alcohol. She got very sick and spent an entire evening in the cabin, missing dinner, the stage show, comedy show. She was in bed from about 6PM until the next day about 9 AM. The biggest complaint is the lack of follow up from the cruise line. On board the ...
I didn't chose this ship. I didn't know how different it would be in comparison to Fascination. The size of the vessel was not the problem at all. The service was. Nothing was on time. The staff was not that pleasant at all. Starting from the baggage, to the on deck staff. The Lido deck crew in the dining areas would walk right in front of you without so much as an excuse me. That pleasant ...
We chose this cruise to go to Princess Cays. We missed certain things on the ship, like a dedicated sports area. Guys burgers did not disappoint. Thirsty red frog beer was tasty.
The ships shows some wear and tear but still was in fairly good shape.
Embarkation was smooth. We were on board by 1140. Debark was somewhat disorganized, but the guests were contributing to the disorder.
We ...
Two little known "secrets" that were awesome:
Sea Day Brunch serves Fillet Mignon with eggs with no up charge and the Sea Day Afternoon Tea has awesome specialty deserts at no up charge. Overall, it was an average cruise that was ok for the money spent. It is the people you are traveling with that make the cruise. Our cabin was somewhat impacted by the closeness to the atrium (noise wise) and ...
I chose this cruise for my one year anniversary with my girlfriend, with the intent to propose to her on the cruise (she said yes!) and overall I had an absolutely fantastic time. I was a bit nervous after booking the cruise since I hadn't read any reviews and saw some people posting negative reviews about the ship but for the most part I couldn't find a lot of their issues. Our cabin was nice and ...
I took this cruise do to it being 2 months before Christmas...I thought that it would be a great time to shop in Jamaica, Caymans and Cozumel .Well we made it to the first stop but the Capitan announced that we wouldn't be going to the Cayman Islands due to the weather being a factor....needless to say I was very disappointed since that was the main Port I wanted to visit. As we went thru customs ...
It was supposed to be Eastern Carib but because of hurricanes we were rerouted. Wish we were given a choice to go or opt out for a later time. We were not given any choice. Also it was a re-positioning from Fort Lauderdale to Miami, We didn't get on ship till 5/530 so we missed almost a whole day since we are usually on board around 1130/12.
Good: The Crew (waiters Pura,Imade Adiana Minnie)

Wanted to try a cruise out of Baltimore as it was close to home (1 hour drive). Our boarding pass said arrive between 1230 and 1 PM so we did. Waited about 90 minutes from getting in line to getting on board. Nobody ever checked the time on our boarding passes. The couple traveling with us were scheduled to board between 2:30 and 3 but no one ever checked their pass and they boarded with us. Why ...
