the cancellation of my cruise during Grandeur's repair period, I decided to give Carnival a try again having heard that Carnival was "much improved". My experience says that this is the case.
Boston is within 65 miles of my house, the trip was short, and priced attractively for a "single", and so I went. Easy "walk thru" of Boston's Black Falcon Cruise Terminal, stood in a short line to change my ...
We did the June 25 NE/Canada cruise from Boston; so this review is a little late. Since we are from the Boston suburbs, we were happy to drive the 20 minutes into town, park in the cell phone lot and be on the ship all within the hour. This was the smoothest departure that we ever had. We enjoyed our interior which was on the 10th floor towards the very end of the ship.
With 8 cruises under our ...
This cruise was heavily discounted, and was a great value for the money. Carnival is the line for the masses, and although criticized by some for the "low-end" experience, when measured against cost, I think they deliver beyond what you pay.
Let me say that every cruise line has a different "personality" and the key to having a good time is to quickly realize what the personality of the ...
I took my two teenage boys (15 & 13) on the Carnival Glory out of Boston on June 16. To begin, the embarkation and debarkation process out and in to Boston was amazing. We arrived at the ship about 2pm and 20 quick minutes were on the ship with limited lines and friendly service. We had lunch and headed down to our oceanview cabin on Deck 1 where our luggage had already been delivered. ...
What made this cruise exceptional was that Carnival called us at 6:30PM the night before we left and asked us if we would like to purchase an upgrade. We had purchased two rooms, one was in interior and the other was a ocean view. They wanted to know if I would like to upgrade the ocean view to a Grand Suite. The extra money for the upgrade was so worth it. We went from the second floor to the ...
The Glory has always been one of my favorite ships. This was a family and friend cruise, my brother and wife, daughter (45) and husband plus older daughter (47) plus some of daughter's friends. There were eleven of us in all.
We went on the Glory out of Boston last July so I knew what to expect from the Cruise Terminal. We dropped of bags and passengers at terminal at 10 am and parked in a lot ...
As stated on other reviews, if you have cruised enough to compare to past trips you will know the things that have changed or are missing. A lot below will be direct comparison to last year's cruise.Lido - The new Guy burgers and burrito were good. They took away the asian wok which was a disappointment as it had the longest lines on most ships as it was popular. In reflection, the regular daily ...
My husband and I were part of a larger group celebrating the wedding of two friends. First, the memories made and fun had by time with our group was amazing and truly once in a lifetime. And, the ports of call (Saint John and Halifax) were both great (Halifax was fantastic).
However. The ship itself? Notsomuch.
The Good:
-Comfy bed
-Balcony allowed for relaxing time outside (away from ...
Carnival Glory 5 days from Boston to Canada. Cabin 1110This was our first cruise and it was an anniversary present from our adult daughters who also went with us. The cruise was in July for five days from Boston to Halifax, NS and stopped at St. Johns, NB both in Canada. The port in Boston was clean and very nice and the embarkation process was pretty smooth and a lot easier than any airline ...
As a veteran of more than 15 cruises, 3 of them on Carnival, I felt I pretty much knew what to expect after reading some of the reviews before my cruise, but there were a few surprises, good and bad.
Embarkation was quick and easy. We arrived at 10:30 AM, parked in the lot that charged $10 per day, and was quickly bussed to the ship. No lines, no waiting. At 11:00 AM we were on the ship. ...
