9004 - They tell you that all the Deck 9 cabins are partially obstructed by lifeboats (you can see over them but they're right in front of your window) but the fact is that for the first three cabins on either side there are NO lifeboats outside the window just a clear view of the ocean. I think you have to be in at least 9006 or 9506 or farther aft to be over a lifeboat. The three most forward cabins on both sides of Deck 9 most definitely do not have even partially obstructed views. There are NO lifeboats that far forward. There is, however, a narrow deck outside (that only the crew has access to, unfortunately), but you have an unobstructed view of the water. You can also see the officers on the bridge wing when the ship docks. Stateroom is small by standards of newer ships but still not bad - has a small sitting area, safe, and fridge.  Read entire member review.

As i said in my review , my cabin was great,it was an "SO" 155 Square feet with plenty of space for 2. it was room 9012 and it had a flat screen.the only problem i had was with the safe. i could not get it to work , it was in an odd place , you almost had to lay down to access it and it was not bolted to anything, it fell off the shelf when i opened the door . i did not ask for help with it. if i did i am more then sure the cabin attendant would have got it fixed. no big deal. The room was always clean and i did not find the bathroom old and rusty as some did on this ship.  Read entire member review.

Short counter space, smaller shower that previous cabin that was only ocean view as opposed to SO.  Read entire member review.

Unobstructed view, convenient location (two floors up to Windjammer and pool, just a few down to the Main Dining rooms). Would book this exact location again!  Read entire member review.

cabin 9056. I think all the cabins on deck 9 are about 35 sq ft larger than all the decks below, and all the cabins above are suites. They are tiny but comfortable. But there's no place like home!  Read entire member review.

For two passengers the Superior Ocean View is the way to go on Sovereign class ships.  Read entire member review.

Cabin doors are fairly sound tight. Small showers on the Monarch which maybe uncomforable for a larger person. Normal size closet. Two double door/three shelf units. Plus lots of small storge spaces.  Read entire member review.

Pretty good by lotusfyre
Super quiet, decent location, big closet (in my opinion), very comfortable for a shorter cruise. Obstructed view wasn't so bad- between 2 life boats, but I did have a worker outside the window one afternoon.  Read entire member review.

Cabin No. 9524. Superior Ocean View. Small. Really helps with the seating area. Quiet, never heard any noise at night. Close to elevators and stairs.  Read entire member review.

Cabin #9532 was a superior ocean view on Vista Deck. Convenient for stairs and elevators, but still quiet. The SO cabins are a little larger than a regular ocean view, with a nice seating unit in the corner. Although the cabin is described as having a partially obstructed view, this one is between lifeboats, and while not a pretty view of davits etc. it still allows a good ocean view. The T.V. was very small and old, no flat screen. Storage is adequate, but the positioning of the safe is awkward.  Read entire member review.

I was also very surprised at the size of the room we had. I had read how the Monarch at very small cabins compared to RCI's other ships. I was also worried that our "obstructed view" would really detract from our experience. I can say that I definitely recommend staying on deck 9. Our room felt large for two people and our view looked out over the emergency pods and we could see everything perfectly fine. The bed was surprisingly comfortable and larger than I expected. The room had a small couch, table, vanity, flat panel TV, decent size closet with safe, storage under the bed, and the bathroom while small was big enough that you didn't feel like you were in a closet. Our room was 9536 which was located right next to the main elevators and we never heard any noise while we were in the room.  Read entire member review.

Deck Nine Poor layout design surrounding the bathroom sink area. Very little space to place shaving items toothbrush etc. The Safe door keeps banging the side of the closet so, be sure to program the Safe door to "close it" even if you are not going to use the Safe.  Read entire member review.

Refrigerator, safe, great location, overlooked the lifeboats but not an issue, comfy beds, lots of drawers and shelves, closet a little small but adequate.  Read entire member review.

Fun Getaway on Monarch by SHIP TRAVELER
Cabin 9570 was very quiet. View was obstructed by life boat only when looking down. You could still see the water around one end of life boat. Bathroom small with cloth shower curtain. Excellent storage. Had a safe and a mini bar. No doors across the hall just a solid wall. Easy access by aft elevator.  Read entire member review.

On two trip on the Monarch, we booked a regular ocean view cabin which was 122 sq ft., and it was small, and felt it! On our second cruise we booked a superior ocean view cabin which was 154 sq ft, which still was a little small, but felt much bigger then the smaller cabin.  Read entire member review.
