Cabin Rating

The minute we got to the room our first impressions was that this cabin was a lot smaller than our other experiences with a balcony room.  It felt small and it looked small.  The bathroom had some updating and that was an added plus.  The room did not have a fridge so we could not keep water cool or anything else.  Also for some reasons the side tables had their drawers removed and that seemed to take from our space. And because of the small space they removed the couch and left a chair only.
Now that I have said all that, after we finally really settled in and after a day or two we realized that really the room size was smaller, we did not have a fridge or small couch, but really it did not matter.  We were able to use the chair just as we used the couch on other cruises.  The fridge is nice but really we don’t need one.  The missing side table drawers did not hurt in any way, we were still able to use the shelves that worked just fine.
The television was good, although because we had bad seas or remoteness we were very limited, and the balcony with chairs and table were great, even though we had some really bad weather on many days so we did not use our balcony as we have in so many other cruises.  Lastly, I just have another plus and minus to express about this cabin.  The room location works for a positive and negative.  The location is ideal for a quiet room.  It is literally the last room on the front left side of the ship. There is absolutely no traffic other than some crew that passes.  The negative is that this is the worst place to be when you are going through a storm.  We literally rocked and rolled one night from 11pm to 5am the next morning.  It was not only scary but if you’re prone to seasickness don’t get this cabin.
Last, our cabin steward was outstanding.  I can’t remember his full name because I always called him Fleur.  I believe it is Fleurania.  Fleur was always there if we needed him, he was very respectful and kept our cabin in perfect shape.  We could tell that Fleur is certainly a seasoned employee.

Good location, could have used a bit more drawer space. Great cabin steward, Carlos.

Cabin 6574 is nicely refurbished located mid ship with a wonderful private balcony. Room furnishings, decor and linen appeared new after its recent refurbishment. Includes flat screen TV and wifi is available in the room.  Read entire member review.

Very clean cabin with balcony on the good side of the ship for most embakements and disembarkements.

Good Cabin, location midships very good balcony always a plus. Some passageway noise from young teenagers middle of the night. Plenty of storage, old television, small but well kept bathroom. The size no surprise and as expected well maintained by cabin crew.  Read entire member review.

Plenty of storage, drawers and wardrobes.
All in all ok.

Too much smoke! by jauspitz

The cabin was very nice but the drain in the shower overflowed to fill the bathroom floor with an inch of water on several occasions and maintenance never came. The divider between the balconies came loose three different times and woke us 3 nights banging into the door and furniture. It was finally fixed right the third time. Although we were nervous that the cabin might be noisy located near the elevators and stairway and the Centrum, it was very quiet once the door closed.

First of all my wife and I are experienced cruisers with many cruises on Royal Caribbean and other lines. We are generally big fans of RC but not this cruise (Apr. 19 departing Dubai). First of all the Legend is their oldest ship (1995). Although it has been refurbished and is attractive and in generally very good condition there are still some problems. The air conditioning in our cabin 7072 was not working properly and although there was a thermostat it never seemed to work. We heard many complaints from others about the same matter. We had to call 3 times for service. When service men came they had to make physical adjustments to the system. We noticed that the air filters in the vents were very dirty. This might be part of the problem. I caught a cold with a bad cough while on board that took almost 3 weeks to get over. Many others on-board acquired the same condition. I also developed conjunctivitis (the first time ever) and essentially quarantined myself for almost 3 days until the condition resolved. My wife got diarrhea with bad cramps during the cruise and was quarantined after visiting the clinic. The cramps continued for almost three weeks afterwards. Although hand sanitizers were provided at the entry to the restaurants there was no strict policing of their use and many people ignored them. We feel that this may have either led to or contributed to the health issues. Our cabin also had a bad odor coming from the air vents at some point each day. We suspect it came from the restaurant although maybe not as the odor seemed like sewer gas. The food on board was good (although the steaks in the main dining room were small and not top quality - maybe they reserve the best cuts for the Grill restaurant that you pay for) but we felt that the variety and quality was generally lacking in comparison to newer and larger RC ships we have been on. But for what we paid for the cruise we really can't complain about the food. All in all not the best cruise we have ever taken.  Read entire member review.
Our 3 cabins were on level 7 in the front of the ship. But not too far from the front elevators on the starboard side. The cabin itself is of impressive size. Last year we were on the NCL Pearl to Alaska and the room was almost the same size; where as we had a mini suite at NCL. There is enough closet space to keep your clothes and your suitcase. Plus they have a small cupboard with 5 levels of shelves for all the stuff. There was a queen sized bed and then a sofa bed which my 8 year old daughter used. The bathroom was the surprise. It was much bigger than what we had at the Pearl. I was surprised. The balcony was of standard size. Overall I was very impressed with the room size.  Read entire member review.

Great balcony! I like the closet door in that it folds and does not interfere with the bathroom door. Our cabin was spacious and comfortable. Quiet location.  Read entire member review.
Cozy and brightly lit although it does not exude any sense of luxury. Sofa bed folds down to a comfortable double bed. Reasonable size bathroom and balcony.  Read entire member review.

We were very pleased with our cabin. More than enough space for two people. there probably would not be enough storage if we added our children to the mix. It probably could have used a few more hangers. Great location on 7th deck mid-ship. We could go up and down stairs two levels to be in the swing of food. Being at mid-ship, I believe lessened the seasickness on the last day.

A note on your survey. The list of ports does not include Valencia, which we enjoyed, but could not write comments because of the port list. We took the city tour.

Legend-Deck 7 Cabin 7588 Slightly aft on portside. Large cabin, slightly dated but still very clean and tidy. Corridor noise minimal but can hear opening and closing of doors and drawers by guests and cleaners. Both sides and above in cabin especially on port days. Small balcony with salt encrusted chairs and table.Unvarnished railings and easy to splinter. Side panels are levelled down so that next door's balcony can be seen from the railing. Not very private. This ship still allows smoking on the balcony and we would get the smell if the doors are left open. Fantastic storage levels and a bigger than usual bathroom area. Very big divan but low back making it uncomfortable to sit for long periods. Bed a big queen and a slightly hollow in the middle.Had the feeling of climbing up out of bed. I would give it a seven out of 10  Read entire member review.
Plenty of storage Spacious  Read entire member review.

Aft balcony was HUGE! It had 2 lounge chairs, and 2 regular chairs and table on it. It was very comfortable, quiet, with no engine noise or other deterrent. The cabin had a full size couch and coffee table. The closet was average size but had enough room for all our clothes and suitcases. There was a corner closet with shelves as well as shelves in the desk/dresser. More than enough room for everything. The bathroom was also larger than expected. Our knees did not hit the wall/sink when sitting on the commode! Very quiet with no hallway noise or activity.
