This room offers plentiful space for a family of 3 or 5. Features a queen-size bed with underneath storage, convertible sofa bed, wall pull-down bed in most, split bath with round tub, and a large porthole with built-in seating
A model of efficient design. We never felt cramped and found it to be very quiet and were never really bothered by movement. We really liked the window seat in the porthole window and didn't feel like we missed having a balcony. The cabin hostess was amazing and went out of her way to make us feel comfortable.
We were in Category 8C room on Deck 7 Forward. Great room. Although forward was still a great location. We were in a room with large porthole with seating (last one before the verandah room started). No noise from neighbours. The room was of a good size, even for the 4 of us. Kids loved the bunk set up (that was put away in the morning and set up again in the evening by George, our stateroom attendant).
We had room 8020 on deck 8 of the Disney Dream which is a Superior Ocean view Family Stateroom. Has a floor to ceiling porthole window which the little ones can sit in. We were on the port side. I would get the starboard side next time as your view is better when at Castaway Cay.
The cabin is very spacious, nice size closets, two bathrooms, one with a sink and toilet, the other with sink and shower/round tub combo. It's a good arrangement. We usually get balcony cabins but this stateroom was very large due to all having more room space where the balcony would be. Seems like it can sleep up to 5 people.
It has a refrigerator which is empty, most cruise lines have a stocked refrigerator and charge you for whatever you use. Disney doesn't do that. You can bring bottled water on board or juice packs and store them in there.
The beds are very comfortable, there is a ceiling night light overhead where kids sleep and it's too bright if you are not used to having light on in a bedroom at night. We pulled the blackout curtain across and it was fine. There is an LCD TV in the room and a couple of outlets and a hair dryer. There are small tables on each side of the bed. The couch pulls out into a futon like bed which I was told was very comfortable. There is also a pull down berth in front of the porthole window if needed. The 3 of us had plenty of room. Good location, great view of Cape Canaveral/Kennedy Space Center at the Port. Easy access to both midship and aft elevators (aft elevators were less crowded). Room was ample sized for 3 children and joined with 8124 next door (we traveled with some friends). Kids enjoyed the bunk beds. We enjoyed the Verandah so much as it was very relaxing and pretty. I'd be pleased to stay in this room again if I could not find one closer to deck 5 or 11 (to make taking the stairs and avoiding the elevators more practical).
We had a sit-in porthole window which gave great views. The couch was a bed and one also folded out from the wall. We found there was plenty of space for our family of four to move comfortably. Plenty of closet space and under bed storage. I would suggest a room mid ship because it is closer to all elevators and amenities. If you are in the front of the ship (as we were) you can only get to the top decks through the adult only areas and they frown on children in there. Read entire member review.
