We were directly under the navigation deck, could see the feet of the officers above through a glass floor. With that came a large light and box that blocked my view when taking pictures from the balcony. Other than tat, the room was great, actually larger than we had imagined. Lots of closet space.
We were assigned cabin 8144, a deluxe verandah, category VA. The cabin was on the port side of the ship on the Navigation Deck, deck 8. The cabin is located directly below the aft pool deck and can get a bit noisy. It didn't bother us much, but for the more noise sensitive folks out there, you may not want this room. You could hear heavy footed people, people dragging chairs, the band, and the cleaning crew. The room was kept very clean, but seemed to be showing its age a bit. We had amble storage for all our luggage, clothes, and gear. Remember to look under the foot of the bed for two large drawers and room to store luggage under the head of the bed. If you find things already in the drawers or under the bed, ask the room steward and he will gladly remove them for you. The rooms have a strange energy saving device by the door. You have to put your room key into a slot to turn on the power to the room. No card, no lights! The only thing that operates without your key are the reading lamps on either side of the bed. Good idea to bring a power strip to plug in more than two items. Read entire member review.
