Nieuw Amsterdam-6097: Great cabin except there is one missing closet. The deck is huge-room for table/chairs and two loungers. The bathroom is also large-2 sink, a bathtub with jacuzzi and separate shower. A very nice room and nice location on ship.  Read entire member review.

6103 Superior Verandah Large starboard just aft of mid-ships. Handy for 6 lifts in one direction and 4 in the other. Excellent balcony with table and 2 chairs suitable for dining and 2 woven loungers and footstools with occasional table. Rug for chilly days and an umbrella. 6 foot sofa can accommodate a 3rd. plenty of storage but weird hanging arrangement. Would need adjusting with 3rd occupant. Huge bathroom ./ Whirlpool bath and separate shower 2 wash basins and good storage. Fridge. Good lighting but some switches for lamps not obvious. Fresh fruit and flowers, robes and slippers.  Read entire member review.

Superior Suite - AFT Port - Nieuw Amsterdam Three closets at the entrance hall opposite the bathroom door. That configuration is always awkward. But in our stateroom the hall wasn't as narrow. In the bathroom, the mirrors were flat against the wall, where they could not be adjusted to see the back of the head. Two sinks, widely separated was a nice feature, as well as the separate shower from the whirlpool tub. Plenty of cabinet drawers, but the TV was positioned on the window wall desk, where we had to sit in bed with our heads turned to the left to see. Very uncomfortable, where we went to bed with a creek in our necks each night. Plastic wicker chairs with matching ottomans on the nicely sized verandah, and a small table for two with two chairs. The chairs all came with cushions but they were not very thick. Neighbors were smoking on their verandahs, which I thought Holland American had banned starting January 2012. We could hear the poolside action with being only two floors down, on the Rotterdam deck.  Read entire member review.

The Greatest Show on Water by Time For Dreaming
STATEROOM: Our SS Category stateroom (7080) was portside on the Rotterdam Deck (Deck 7). If this stateroom is available, jump on it. Having a Superior Veranda Suite made a big difference in storing belongings and moving about with ease. With plenty of closets, drawer and surface space, keeping things organized and out of sight was a breeze. Furnishings were selected with thought, and fresh flowers and fruit a surprising touch. The bathroom has double sinks with actual counter space and an entire shelf underneath, a full whirlpool bathtub/shower combination plus an additional shower stall, large fluffy towels and nice sundries. The SS category on this ship usually has 300 sq. feet of interior space with a 98 sq. foot balcony. However, SS 7080 is a corner stateroom on a hump section. Because of location, the stateroom itself is a little bigger than other SSs. Rather than a coffee table with two chairs in front of the couch (would have been cluttered) this stateroom has two chairs around a moveable rectangular table next to the side table separating it from the couch. The view looks out onto the balcony. Table is large enough to eat, play cards, even a board game. Instead of a rectangular balcony, this one has as angled section (looking forward) with two straight sections, and is also larger than the norm. Two padded chairs with ottomans, small drink table, and dining table with two more padded chairs did not crowd the balcony. Balcony furniture was imitation wicker. Cabin attendants kept everything 100% immaculate. Note: Only those in Deluxe Veranda Suites and Penthouse Suites get the suite perks such as the private Neptune Lounge, complimentary laundry service, etc.  Read entire member review.

A dicothomy of a trip by alacruisers
Superior verandah suite was great. Only thing we could see that was wrong was the placement of the TV. Instead of being placed to one side of the bed, why not place it at the end of the bed on the desk so that both people have unobstructed views. Bathroom was marvelous.  Read entire member review.
