Cabin Rating

This was a spacious room with all the amenities a person will need. It had a shower and a good sized window.

We were in an outside cabin (1062) on the Main Deck. This was the first time we have cruised without a balcony and we were surprised how little we missed it. The cabin was spacious for the three of us. There is great storage/closet space (far better than our favorite cruise line Celebrity). Our cabin attendant (Endang) was friendly, responsive to our needs and met our every need. The cabin has a bath/shower that was great. We didn't use the bath, but I know some people like having the option. We were right at mid ship. Since this cruise was port intensive it was really nice to be able to walk down one flight of stairs and be at the disembarkation spot. No waiting in lines to get back up an elevator upon our return to the ship. We had good weather, but there were some bumpy seas and being down low/mid-ship resulted in very little movement.

The cabin was very nice and clean and was the best part of the cruise. The bathroom was large and it is nice to have a bathtub/shower instead of just a shower. The wardrobes for the clothing were more than adequate.

Unusable closet, too small for wheelchair, balcony impossible to use from a wheelchair, bathroom barely ADA standard, poor TV reception, cheap remote, poor lighting. Don't book 4051.  Read entire member review.

A nice cabin which we got for the same price as an interior cabin. We appreciated having natural light into the room. Plenty of storage space once you work out how best to maximise the space you have. Though obstructed you still got a nice view out of the window. Weird art prints on the wall though, rather disturbing!

balcony great, near the elevator stairs, easy access to entertainment areas.  Read entire member review.

Room had plenty of storage space, despite 4 people. Noise from Neptune Lounge above us was a bit of a shock, as the floors up there must have an uncarpeted section; we could hear chairs scooting and slamming of things. Pullman bed was occupied by DH and he said it was very firm, not too comfortable. Sister had couch bed and it was overly soft!! Goldilocks would not be impressed.

6098, a great spacious mid ship superior suite that is spacious and well located for lifts. This cabin had plenty of storage and the artwork was weirdly mixed but fine. The bed was comfortable and we held get togethers of over a dozen people which was fine when you included the good sized balcony. The bathroom has a jet bath and a shower over it as well as a separate shower, it also has two sinks but only 1 toilet, lol. The balcony has 1 large and 1 small table with 2 dining chairs and 2 reclined chairs with foot stalls that can double as seats when entertaining.  Read entire member review.

The Pinnacle Suite

Though I've been on a cruise ship for over four months of my life, I've never cruised in such style as I did on this trip. All of my cruises have been in standard inside or ocean view rooms, and on a few special occasions I had a balcony. Our accommodations on this trip would be... just a tad better.

Yup, we were rocking Pinnacle Suite #7031.

The Nieuw Amsterdam features two "Pinnacle Suites" that each measure a whopping 1,357 square feet -- almost 7 times the size of a standard balcony cabin - and larger than my apartment back in Virginia. Needless to say, we had plenty of room.

We were escorted onboard by a personal concierge immediately upon arrival at the port in Venice, and this personalized service did not stop for the entire twelve nights. As we initially entered our suite, we walked through our foyer and were greeted by multiple bottles of champagne, a huge fruit plate, and two plates of canapés.

Past the foyer, there is a dining room table for four with a desk and mini bar setup. Located forward of this dining area is the living room area, complete with a sectional sofa, a large throne-like chair, and a full entertainment center with a flat-panel television, DVD player, and Bose sound system. A king bed pulled out of the wooden cabinet beneath the television, and this is where my girlfriend and I slept.

The master bedroom is located on the other side of the dining room, and is separated from the rest of the suite by double doors. Inside the suite, there is a huge king sized bed, plenty of desk space, and a full vanity. The master bath includes a double sink, jacuzzi tub with separate shower, and a very large walk-in closet that had plenty of room for the four of us. A separate half bath is located off the foyer, across from a butler pantry with sink, microwave, and full refrigerator.

The highlight of the room was a massive verandah that was accessed through a pair of sliding glass doors. The verandah featured two padded chaise lounge chairs, a table for al fresco dining with seating for four including a sofa in a carved out, teak wood vestibule, two other chairs, and a hot-tub.

Yes -- we had our own private hot-tub on our private verandah.

It was awesome.

first time on the starboard side I really enjoyed the location. I have always been on the bow loved seeing the island side along the way. Fun seeing the other ships along the way. We try to always take the steps it is faster than waiting on the elevators. Remember to use the side elevators everyone forgets about them!!!! We never felt any rocking.

Cabin 7066 is perfectly located. It is far enough from the elevators to avoid noise and traffic, but close enough to be convenient. We never had to wait more than a couple of minutes. There is easy access to the Neptune Lounge which we used quite frequently. The cabin itself has a king sized bed, lots of storage space, a bathroom with two sinks, Jacuzzi tub, and separate shower. There is a dressing room with lighted make-up mirror and more closet space. Also, there is a sectional sofa bed, adjustable table and two chairs....enough space for 6-8 guests for drinks and snacks. The balcony is generously sized. It has a table with four chairs, two lounge chairs and ottomans. The double doors open with a handle which we really liked, not a sliding door. There is a large window over the desk area which overlooks the balcony. The TV is located at the end of the desk area and swivels toward the sofa or the bed. Remote is awful....had to have one replaced, In all we loved the cabin.

Air conditioning was a problem. We never could get the room the temperature that we wanted. It seemed that it didn't matter where one set the thermostat, it was cold when one wanted it to be warm and vice-versa. The TV didn't have anywhere to plug in ear phones which made it less enjoyable as one of us is a reader and the other likes the TV.  Read entire member review.

Best room ever: largest balconies are on this floor (7) and 8. Other levels is the balconcy cut off due to an extra verandah cabin, which this space is given to the suite on floor 7 and 8.
It gives you more privacy and the view onobstracted over the wake of the ship is fabulous. Also with this space you can move with the sun or look for shade alternatively.
Jump for this cabin (7137) if you can get it! There is not much noice from the engine or propellor, you just hear water rushing but this is a nice sound and not noice.
Keep in mind that it is a long walk to the Neptune Lounge, but it is worth it.
All Neptunes have extra space for storage and a bathroom with double sink and seperate shower and whirlpool bath.

Wonderful cabin. Lots of room. A little noisy in the early morning and late night when the pool chairs are moved. But there are no other balconies above you so there is a tradeoff. Storage in so many places you can hide away everything and have room to move around. The couch is a nice place to sit. The bathroom is roomy.

10002: Plusses: HUGE outside cabin on Panorama Deck with a HUGE window overlooking the ship's bow. BEST cabin we've been in on any ship (we never use the balcony.) No noise from Crow's Nest, which was directly above us, or from Gym, which was directly below us. Very conveniently located since we need our espresso in the mornings (one flight of stairs up), we booked a Cabana (one flight of stairs up) and we made daily use of the gym and Thermal Suite (one flight of stairs down.) Minuses: HAL should ditch the whole "Spa Cabin" designation. Yes, the room was close to the spa, but we still had to pay extra to use the Thermal Suite. The corridor in this area used the same bright purple NCL type carpeting, and Eurodam's private spiral staircase to the Thalasso pool is gone, so you didn't feel like you were in a special spa area. Inside the cabin, 2 pedometers, a yoga mat, an exercise DVD, a Bed Bath & Beyond 'water feature' and four free bottles of Vitamin water (refills cost extra) do not a spa cabin make. Yes, the room was great, just don't call it a 'spa cabin.'  Read entire member review.

Great space, although lots of vibration when sailing.  Read entire member review.
Not as expected by Route 66
Poor lighting, grim decor and brown/dirty carpet.  Read entire member review.
Great cabin. Spacious, well designed, wonderful verandah. We were on deck 8 so we had a grand view. No vents in the bathroom made showering a little.. steamy.  Read entire member review.
Lots of closet space, quiet room, great balcony.  Read entire member review.
CRUISE FROM .... by Helenecruise

The outside cabins on Main Deck were nicer than the Verandah cabins on the Upper Promenade. Closet space not great for 24 nights. Soap dispenser in bath in a silly place. If one is having a shower, it is great, if one is in the bath, impossible to get to and the soap given is so tiny. Went to buy soap in one of the ports.

Great room! Perfect location, not at all noisy, but convenient to the aft elevator, and thus to the food! They were right when they said they were upgrading us to one of the nicer verandahs.
