We were in cabin 8289 and thought it was great. We had a private balcony which I wanted in case I didn't want to go to common areas to read while at sea thinking the kids would be too noisy. The cabin was great. I couldn't believe how much storage/closet space Carnival fit in the room. In the bathroom you had 6 glass shelves attached to the mirror for your hygiene items and make-up. They had a magnifying mirror in the bathroom attached to the wall. There is a mini-clothes line in the shower to dry things on. They had a great make-up mirror with lighting in the main part of the cabin. We had three closets in our room, plus 6 drawers, a safe, a refrigerator and extra shelf space. We were not too far forward and between two elevators. Very good location. One thing I had read is to make sure you don't get a room with a connecting door (unless of course you want to). The balcony was small but adequate. Carnival uses doors that slams shut when you let go. You could hear everyones doors around you slam shut at times. Other than the bathroom there was no privacy. Princess cabins have a wall between the closet and bathroom which gives you some privacy from the other part of the room. Other than that the room was good. Great balcony , quiet location. Becareful to avoid any cabins further back on this side and particulary on lower level as an outside barbeque blows lots of smoke and cooking smells back towards the ship. Cabin was very adequate. I would suggest getting something more in the midship area if you have any problems walking as it is a good hike to the forward portion of the ship. Great wrap around balcony, but you lose the sitting area of the standard balcony room. Essentially, you have a long hallway (with the three closets) that opens onto the bed area, with the bathroom toward the back of the ship near the door. As mentioned in my review, this ship yaws and shimmies like no other. This phenomenon, which occurs throughout the ship, was more pronounced near the stern where our cabin and dining areas were located. Our cabin was a spa cabin. It was extremely quiet, and always clean. The housekeeping staff was very friendly and always asked how our day was and if we needed anything. The only thing our family would do different is probably book two rooms or get a suite. Only because my son is 18, my daughter is 16 and we were just too cramped and not enough room for all of our clothes. We loved our balcony. Adequate closet space and bathroom facility, great balcony view, quiet floor, very comfortable bed. If traveling with group and wanting to have balconies opened up to each other, note that some cabins do not allow adjoining balconies to be opened to each other.
