Dream not a dream by UmbrellaDave

My cabin was 6207, handicapped. It is at the front of the boat. Now, it was noisy as all get out in rough seas, caught the brunt of the storm, but it still shook in moderate seas. Also, the balcony had a 4' steel bulkhead, not the clear plexiglass that the other cabins have. Definitely a negative. This was NOT disclosed when we booked the cabin.

6214 was a fine room. The balcony is above the promenade deck where people can walk, but very seldom did I see anyone there. The captain's quarters are above us about 2 decks and that was really the only one that could see us. Very seldom did I hear people in the hall. I feel like it is a good location on the boat.  Read entire member review.
Room was nice, but a little smaller than a similar room on the Freedom. Balcony was good as expected. Room was located in a quiet location.  Read entire member review.
So Glad I Did It! by NotAtWork

Our room was a perfect size, and we really appreciated our balcony. I was surprised at how big the shower felt, since it looks teensy when you're not inside it.

Not a complete Dream by crazyyankee
Would recommend a higher deck. Room itself was nice but was over the Encore Lounge which was loud at times. You are on the forward part of the promenade deck which for some is a problem but not for us. We had rough seas so we had some rocky days and nights.  Read entire member review.
Overall, a good cruise by seattleGTfan

This was a typical balcony cabin. The bed was very comfortable and the cabin had plenty of storage space. I've read complaints about the Promenade deck jutting out below, but really didn't see it as a problem. The people on that deck are a floor below, so it's not like they're walking by your balcony at eye level. And it doesn't obstruct your view of the water. The cabin is above the back of the show lounge, but noise was never a problem. One afternoon we could hear the performers rehearsing, but it wasn't enough to keep me from a good nap. I wondered if having a smoking area below our balcony would be a problem, but I never noticed anything. The cabin is near the elevators/stairs, and we never had a problem with motion.

Avoid this location of the ship at all costs. Cabin was large and had plenty of space for your belongings. Storage under the bed for suit cases, under the couch for large bulky items, and three closets in addition to a very small dresser. 6266 is located above the access door to the Promenade Deck. The door would slam hard enough to shake the room, all hours of the day and night. In addition, the deck chairs were stacked up by the staff in the early evening, and people would unstack them into the early morning hours and drag them up the deck to a location they chose. This made sleeping very difficult. Stay on deck 7 or above to avoid this problem.  Read entire member review.
Awesome by mandiloos
Fabulous, big, clean, great views, handy for all activities, some corridor noise but not late at night.  Read entire member review.
Quiet. Mid-ship (no rattling/shuddering). Just above Lanai. Close to elevators. Opposite of ports (sea-side). Plenty of room for four.  Read entire member review.
You couldn't best the location and how near it was to everything on the ship. If you are a light sleeper you could hear the slot machines faintly when all else was quiet. Our balcony was just above the Lanni on deck 5 so during the day there was much activity especially in the hot tub just to the right of our balcony. We like to watch people come and go from the ship and we were able to do so in each port.  Read entire member review.
Dream lived up to its name by Jacquelynnecritic
clean cabin, very well stocked with supplies. Balcony smaller than we are used to. Hair dryer worked out very well. Good storage. Wish there had been a few more U.S. channels on the t.v.  Read entire member review.
Our cabin was 6334, it was off to the side but still overlooked one of the extended hot tubs on deck 5. I will tell I think it was a great cabin, great ocean view, quiet (except when our neighbor had his T.V. just a bit too loud one night)and great people watching if I wanted. No one ever looked up or paid attention that I was sitting on the deck reading or just gazing out over the big blue sea. I would have no problem staying in that same cabin again! (The sooner the better for me :)  Read entire member review.
I wish we had gotten a Cove Balcony instead of a deck 6 veranda. I didn't like deck 6 because directly below you is deck 5, the Panorama deck. So instead of looking down and seeing the ocean, you see people sun bathing, smoking, eating and sitting in the hot tub. On the first sea day the ship offered an outside BBQ almost directly below our veranda. The smoke from the BBQ was chocking and the noise wasn't very nice. At night the lights from the deck produced enough glare to make it difficult to see over the railing to the ocean. The Cove Balconies are under deck 5 and less expensive, more private and a much better view.  Read entire member review.
Too Noisy - above Disco and smoking lounge.  Read entire member review.
Not So Happy by Gramme

Room was directly above a night club with loud music late into the night. Bed and walls vibrated from the loud music. I complained on the 4th night and was told things would be taken care of. Loud music back the next night and rest of cruise. Maintenance work going on deck directly below my balcony on a sailing day. This should have been done while in port and people were off the ship. I could not enjoy the extra cost I paid to have privacy!

Generally the same as all Carnival balcony cabins.  Read entire member review.
We booked stateroom 6471, an extended balcony room. This is an L-shaped room. It was great. The bed faced 2 windows looking out on a double length balcony. We spent a lot of time on the balcony and enjoyed it.  Read entire member review.
Better than Expected by drawtheline
6480 is in the back, so be prepared to do a lot of walking. When walking to the front, we found that taking the corridor was fastest. There's noise from the karaoke bar below from about 9-12 each night, but other than that it was quiet. Cabin was bigger than expected, and contained enough closet and drawer space to keep it from getting cluttered.  Read entire member review.
We were in cabin 6490 with an extended balcony. We were a bit disappointed when we found out one of our friends had an ocean-view 1371 with two bathrooms (one had bathtub and sink, the other a shower, sink and toilet. We also didn't have sofa like others in inside cabins and ocean-view. We were in the back of the ship and since the ship is so long it was a hike to get to anything in the front of the ship. Not much of a problem for us as we stayed to areas in the rear or middle of the ship most of the time. The view of the ocean from our beds through two big windows was great.  Read entire member review.
Loved this cabin. Very large balcony and nice room layout. Perfect for 2 people.  Read entire member review.
OUR ROOM: We were in room 7242 (Ocean Suite, Cat 8A). We were located in the front port (left) side of the ship. Bed was a king size, pull out sofa was at least queen size, and was one of the most comfortable mattresses I have slept on. Cabinets, closets, and drawers are quite abundant and you will have plenty of room to un-pack. Room had Jacuzzi bathtub, double sink, very clean. As for outlets, there was one in the room as well as 1 in the room just outside the bathroom (2 total). The hairdryer in the bathroom was adequate for my wife an daughter. All 4 of us had phones, 3 iTouch's and an iPad, and none of us had an issue with the single outlet. All accessories remained properly charged and there were no fights or arguments over the outlets. Balcony was BEAUTIFUL, wide, and I could not go back to a balcony-less room after this cruiseso beware when you book, you will get hooked! As an aside, research where your room is before you book it. What floor is above you? Below you? If you get a room on the 6th floor, above the hot-tub on deck 5, expect to hear people talking. Is room over/under Restaurant? Theatre? Club? Pool? It makes a difference, and a little preparation and planning goes a LONG, LONG , way!!! Room 7242 is approximately 7 rooms from the front of the ship. It is on the 7th floor. 6th floor has balcony rooms as well (quiet underneath) and nicer suites are above on floor 8 (quiet above). Being 2 decks above the Lanai Deck (where people walk and play) the noise did not carry up (Quiet outside) and there were no hot tubs outside either. The Lanai Deck on this side of the ship and towards the front was virtually empty the entire cruise. ONE IMPORTANT NOTE: The rooms have a safe located inside a cabinet. Unless you use the safe, the door is unlocked. If the ship rocks from side to side the safe door will open and hit the inside of the cabinet door, making an audible knock. Don't be like me and spend an hour, in the dark, trying to find out where the heck the noise is coming from. Stick a washrag in between the cabinet and the safe and you will be noiseless all night long NO THE BOAT DOES NOT ROCK A LOT, but at night, they speed up and any large swells will create a rocking motion. Again, nothing to worry about. We left the day after a hurricane, and the ride was just fine.  Read entire member review.
Our cabin was just fine, but I would suggest a mid-ship because of the size of this ship and the time it took to walk everywhere. We chose an aft cabin to be close to the buffet and pool area, but it was a very long walk for everything else.  Read entire member review.
Loved our balcony and the room was spacious. We were in 8217 and right behind the bridge. We loved the view and it was quiet, but a long walk from the dining room.  Read entire member review.

Balcony cabin 8304 was great! Lots of storage, exceptionally clean bathroom/shower, no obstructed view on the balcony... nice!! Beds were comfortable!

We also booked interior cabin 8306--- nice as well! Clean, nice storage room, comfortable beds/bedding.

8340- this cabin was close to the mid ship elevators, it could get a bit noisy, kids running up and down the halls, you could also hear the workers cleaning the lanai, deck chairs scraping the decks til 2 or 3 am. The bathroom was fine, closets were fine as well.  Read entire member review.
Decent sized cabin, great location, great room steward.  Read entire member review.
Great storage space. Loved being mid-ship- great access to everything. Great balcony....even numbered cabins had the best port views. Slept 2 adults and 2 small children very well.  Read entire member review.

We stayed in room 9224 on the Dream. It was a typical stateroom, but it was very quiet. The balcony was nice; we had an adjoining balcony with my husband's brother and his family. I would recommend this room to anyone.  Read entire member review.

Cabin was great except for the noise from Lido deck.

Our cabin was very nice, and quiet. We heard some hallway noise some evenings, mostly other guests coming back to their cabins, but nothing through the ceilings or walls. There was ample room for our family of 4, and the balcony was nice to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning while the kids were still sleeping. The bathroom was a nice size, and there was lots of room for clothes. The balcony was by far our favorite part of the room.  Read entire member review.
Ups and Downs by zephyrhillscruiser
Cabin was excellent, with one exception. Mattresses are poor. When fluffy duvet is off the beds, you can see huge body depressions from former guests. Mattresses do not contain any type of springs or support. They are just like very heavy pads. You feel as though you are sleeping in a hammock in bed. I had the same problem on Carnival's Glory a couple of years ago. They need better beds. Otherwise, cabin was roomy with great storage. Balcony was excellent. Everything worked well and it was very clean. Exceptionally long sofa in cabin which was nice. Decor was mildly colorful and very pleasant.  Read entire member review.
Cabin 10221. Great cabin, quiet, with a balcony. Very spacious and very clean.  Read entire member review.
Spa Cabin 12206 - Too Noisy Too Small. It certianly was convenient to the Cloud 9 Spa but it failed to meet the expectations of a spa environment. It was not peaceful or quite.  Read entire member review.
6th floor is tricky on the Carnival Dream. We were in 6-246, port. If you're forward, you're over the 3 story Encore Theater and it is LOUD when they are doing shows or BINGO there. Also, the 5th level Promenade is bumped out around the entire ship, so the 6th floor balconies are really over that and not the ocean -- that wasn't a problem for us, but for some other rooms on the 6th floor, their balconies would be over the bumped out and elevated hot tubs which would allow hot tubbers a glimpse into your stateroom. Also, there is a large outdoor smoking area on deck 5 midship (between the hot tubs) and the smoke wafting up and back would have been more than I could bear. Noise from the hallway wasn't too bad, but the sound of slamming doors got tiring after a while (especially early in the morning and late at night!). Two of our party were across the hall in an inside cabin (nice use of space, very comfortable) but heard the shows in the Encore theater even more loudly than we did across the hall. They were unable to tune it out and did not get to sleep until the late show was over each night. Balcony doors seem to have been retrofitted with closing mechanisms that stop the problem of slamming (a problem I read about in several Cruise Critic reviews). If I were to sail again on the Dream, I wouldn't choose a cabin on the 6th floor. I'd either go higher on the ship or lower, but would not want to be in the front of the ship and have to hear the activity in the Encore Lounge twice each night from the room.  Read entire member review.
Loved our balcony, small, but livable rooms, very clean restrooms.  Read entire member review.

The crew was always cordial and pleasant. Our room was always clean. The room steward kept ice filled and even provided a larger bucket for the wine we brought aboard.

Tiny room Nice Bathroom  Read entire member review.
Our cabin was very spacious. We were located one floor up from the Casino and I thought we would hear sounds from there, but is sure did not bother us at all. The balcony looked down over the lanai deck and we could see if the jacuzzis were full. The bathrooms were also nice--not a closet like I have heard.  Read entire member review.
We were in the back of the ship with a rear balcony. We normally love this location on other ships however we were directly above the stage of the Burgundy Lounge and when they had a live band the noise and shaking was horrible. We are early risers so to hear someone screeching karaoke to a loud live band at midnight when you are trying to sleep is not a good thing. The balconies were not as private as others in the past due to the setup with people from above able to see down on you and a lack of vertical separators between balconies. The ones there were sloped backwards.  Read entire member review.
