Big, very big, biggest balcony cabin I have ever come accross.

Cabin: I thought our cabin was very very well laid out. I thought the lighting was better than my previous cruise. Our lady I believe Mazy was here name was supreme. We would put do not disturb cause we didn't want her to have to clean just for us for 10 days straight. However amazingly as SOON as we took it off that lady was in there like a flash and even folded out clothes. We're guys so that was awesome. We spoke with our neighbors from Cananda and encouraged them to tip her extra too. I'm a 6'2 black guy and the bathroom worked perfectly for me as well I slept on the couch for 5 of the 10 days as I snore and THAT worked perfectly. It doesn't pull out but bed clothes were supplied and my steward reset it daily. LOVED THE SIZE OF THE BALCONY AND ONE DAY THEY EVEN CLEANED ALL OF THEM ON THE ENTIRE SHIP...didn't empty ashtray, but it really didn't need it.

Cabin 6251 on Costa Luminosa was an angled Balcony cabin facing slightly aft rather than directly out to the side. This gave a slightly different layout than the normal Balcony cabin which seemed to give more usable space. The balcony was sheltered more from the wind including that created by the forward motion on the ship. The bathroom was spacious and the cabin service provided cleaning and replacement towels at least twice a day if used. Some "creaking" and rattling of the walls and sliding balcony door occurred at sea due to the ship's movement but it was not too annoying. Only soap cakes and a general liquid soap dispenser in the shower were provided - no shampoos or conditioner which would have been nice.  Read entire member review.

Costa was obviously cutting corners to save money. Our room was identical to our room on the Carnival Valor. Both rooms cost about the same per day. However, there was no shampoo provided (like Costa has). Our balcony railing was not wiped free of ocean salt every day, like on Carnival. Costa was cutting corners to save money was in the t.v. channels they offered in cabins. No CNN or BBC. If you wanted English news it was from Japan's NHK English service. Even the Spanish got the Spanish language service of Russian Television. There were no free movies on t.v. either.

The cabin was nicely designed and maintained however there was only one working electrical outlet in the cabin. Very difficult in this day and age.
