This cabin is great, quiet but near to everything. You can easily nip up and down the stairs or lifts as they are right outside your door. And no you don't hear them at all. Cabin steward was brilliant level of service was very high.

Room was very nicely laid out and far enough back on the ship that the lifeboats did not hinder the view . Some of the more central balconies looked like the view to the water was restricted

I booked a guaranteed balcony cabin, and several days prior to sailing I was advised my cabin, 9017, was an "enclosed balcony. I called NCL to find out what that meant and was told that balcony had a cover, which some cabins on this ship do not. It wasn’t until I arrived that I found out it meant the balcony was like a picture window on the balcony. I have posted a photo of this on my blog at www.travelblog.org/monichols so take a look if you're doing a guarantee, because this is a possibility the Epic. For the amount of time I spent out there, it was fine.

Well as many seasoned cruisers here know The Epic's design is somehwhat unusual as it is a curvey design, BUT it was great for me as a SOLO traveller. Since we had so many sea days, I upgraded from the Studio Cabin as one of my favorite things to do on a cruise is order room service coffee(and sometimes breakfast) and take it out on the balcony. Speaking of the balcony, although my cabin was smaller than some of the other NCL ships I have been on, the balcony was nice, comfortable and spacious.

Mini suite was okay but much smaller than some regular balcony cabins I have booked on other ships. The curved walls lend nothing for roominess. There was lots of storage and that was very good however most of it was shelves and only really two hanging closets for longer clothes. It was okay.

Never more Norwegian Epic. by Norwegian cruiser

Narrow stateroom with restroom and shower within the cabin. I think we will never see another ship with this set up.

Very spacious, comfortable bed, plenty of storage space. Washbasin in main section of room quite strange. Did not like the frosted glass on shower and toilet areas - could be a problem for two people travelling together and not related - know this has cause some debate in other reviews. Shower cubicle a good size and water pressure always efficient.

We loved our stateroom as we were midship on starboard side. Our balcony was oversized as we were on the bump of the ship facing aft. We were deck 9 and that was good. Bed was very comfortable and no problem with size and my husband is 6'1". Lots of storage, two closets, four drawers, storage under bed and behind sofa. Our shower was really good. We did not have complaints with size of toilet room or shower. Our bed was positioned by sliding glass doors and would have not been as comfortable coming into room if it had been positioned by toilet area just as you open door. We loved our stateroom and cabin attendant was very good and made sure we had the cutest animals on our bed at night. Our room was quite and very comfortable. Layout had a lot of complaints but we did not have issues, we were very comfortable and it made for a nice transatlantic trip.

Enjoyable but not repeatable by anandaindonesia

Bed by the balcony. Plenty of storage but we cannot put our luggages under the bed. Sofa is useless, we use it to place our luggage flat.
Like the coffee maker, it helps. Also like the wash basin location.
Bathroom/toilets system okay with us, we just draw the curtain whenever we are in the room.
Roomy balcony but very tiny table. We asked for a second table from our cabin attendant so we can place our breakfast tray safely.
No robes but we asked - and get - from our cabin attendant.

Our Room was 9295 - Aft Balcony Cabin which we paid over £300 extra each to have, whilst it was nice to be at the back of the ship for the romantic views etc, the room shakes like crazy and it is VERY SMALL. I could have paid £200 less each and got a larger balcony and would have been much happier, however didn't quite realise how small these rooms are!! I am 6ft 6" and my wife is over 6ft also, it was a faff to get around each other and the toilet was very cramped. Worst bit was the bed, my feet dangled over the bed by over 1ft!! Often woke with a bad back, which i don't normally get at home or on any other ship we have sailed on.

Not so Epic by thembakers

Unfortunately our travel agent told us that we could not book a specific cabin? The room was as expected so not too shocked by the unhygienic toilet arrangement.ie open toilet door after use pull curtain back and then wash your hands. The bed had a visible space in the middle and when sheets were pulled back the mattress was filthy. Room was not very clean and the balcony for which we paid hundreds of pounds extra was uselessly large with two small upright chairs and an even smaller table. No view unless you stood up due to having steel bulkhead instead of glass. No sun got into balcony or room as part of the ships navigation area was above our heads as well as steel bulkhead. Very disappointed with the room, and did not spend any time in it even less the balcony.

An Epic Voyage by caneable

The cabins on Epic come as a bit of a surprise with a distinct impression that their curved walls have drawn influence from Antonio Gaudi. The curved foot of the bed does make the access to the opposite cabin narrow, but then again we're all friends in a cabin and we soon adjusted. The shower strikes as small on first impression but I have to say I had no difficulty fitting my 1m 87 frame in! The touch phone and TV to arrange reservations for restaurants, shows and excursions was a novelty to us but it worked very efficiently and saved time in queues. The balcony was a generous size and was welcome on arrival and departure from the various ports. Our cabin steward, Roderick, was excellent, keeping on top of the cabin presentation and any personal requests. In addition he had a quite original line in the usual array of towel sculptures!

EPIC Cruise :) by Eirecruiser

Inside cabin 11026 was beautifully decorated to a 4 star standard, spotlessly clean and well attended by our cabin attendant Richard. We requested the beds to be separated to provide two singles and there was plenty of room for the 2 of us throughout our stay. The beds were extremely comfortable and spacious. Of course the separate toilet and shower area was peculiar at first but to be honest it proved much better than standard cabin bathroom layouts. Once the curtain is drawn there is more than ample space for drying, putting on creams and dressing in private. By the end of the cruise we took no notice of the configuration of the facilities and would say overall we preferred this layout.

We love the cabins. Here, they figured out a brilliant lay-out! The bathroom facilities are split into three separate areas. You have your shower stall (hose, good pressure), your private enclosed toilet area, and a sink which is next to the shower, but in the main cabin area. So cabin-mates can attend to all their needs simultaneously, without bumping into one another or invading each others privacy! Our bed was extremely comfortable and we slept well. Cabinets are also well-designed, with plenty of space to unpack and lay things out. We had a balcony which we feel is a must, since we love "happy hour", sitting outside watching the ocean... Room service is twice a day, efficient, with the occasional towel animal!

The cabin was great (comfortable, lots of storage space, good bedding (except the child bed), no noise or vibration, convenient separation of toilet, bad tub and sink spaces).

The cabin has plenty of storage space. Impossible for one person to pass the other in front of the tiny sink at the foot of the bed. You could almost sit on the end of the bed and brush your teeth. Beds were very comfortable, although I can see where a tall person would be hanging over the bottom of the bed; they do seem to be shorter than a normal bed. The lights are kept on by having a key card in the slot by the door, but any card will work, i.e. credit card, casino card, etc. We brought an outlet strip which proved invaluable for charging Ipad, reader, etc. all at once. The coffee pot and coffee packets provided in the room made very good coffee. One of the few things that had no extra charge. Shower is a good size, larger than most ships, good water pressure. Thank goodness for the curtain which could be drawn across the toilet and shower area for privacy.

Nice cabin, bed next to the balcony -- a must! Plenty of storage; don't care for the see-through toilets.

The cabin is located to the rear of the ship in a very quiet location.
It is an unusual design with curved walls, two large single beds that can convert to a double. A curved settee which serves no useful purpose as it is directly opposite the wardrobes and a bunk bed stored in the ceiling. The bathroom layout is the much talked about separate shower, toilet and basin which for us is a disaster area. The glass sliding doors to both toilet and shower are opaque so that you can see the outline of the person using the facility, not good when room service arrives which happened to my wife whilst showering.
There is a curtain that pulls across but this excludes the basin (which is tiny). Loads of storage every where including under the beds, very good lighting. Flat screen TV with watchable channels. There is a safe for valuables and a nice balcony. This cabin is fine for two people and although advertised as a ‘family cabin’ it is not. The bunk bed severely restricts access to the wardrobes and balcony and although I am of small stature I had to turn side ways to access the balcony. You also need to be aware that the settee does not ‘convert’ to a bed. A sheet is simply placed over the seat and a duvet and pillows added. Our grandson said it was very comfortable but it is barely two feet wide so older children may have problems. To summarise. Visually a stunning looking cabin and a great peaceful location. Practically, ok for two but a family will struggle for space. The bathroom design a disaster area if you want your privacy this room (and ship) is not for you.

If you are concerned about the rooms and the "bathroom" situation, you should be unless you are a couple, a couple who is very comfortable with each other. Anymore than that......be warned.

Room layout- yes, the toilet and the shower really are in the entry way. Yes there is a curtain. Yes it was somewhat tolerable. But YES- my teenage son did have the horror of coming back to the cabin, popping open the door to the horror of us both as I was standing just outside of the shower drying off. I am sure we all wish that wouldn't have happened. Is the room ok for a couple......yes. Is it comfortable for those who don't really want to see each other naked, or very clear images of whomever is sitting on the pot? Absolutely not. Don't do it! There are so many other ships...............

Plenty of storage. Easy to store extra suitcases under the bed. It is big enough to get around the 3rd person bed. And beds are certainly very comfortable. Great huge balcony, but we couldn't ever use it due to smokers puffing away next door.

Love the studio concept, cabins are large enough to walk around one side of bed. Choose a cabin close to Lounge which was good and bad. Good because its was next door and I could get a coffee or snacks during the night. Bad because you could hear everyone saying goodbye at the door or noise from down stairs if the door wasn't closed properly. Need notice on where over bed light switch is and how to turn off light on phone. How do you get porters to take towels? by end of week I had 4 large & 6 small towel in shelf unit! Need more coat hangers, us ladies like to hang clothes up.

Great room overall. No obstructions! Had problems with key card access - door jammed up quite a bit. The water from the shower also spilled over quite a bit, would have like to have a bathtub instead, but not the end of the world. Beautiful views. VERY Convenient! Steps up to Kid's area and the Garden Cafe/Outdoor Pool area. Room was right off stairs and elevators. Aside from occasional running around, it was quiet.

This is the smallest inside cabin I have ever experienced. Make sure they separate the bed into 2 twins, otherwise the "king" bed dominates all the space. Lighting is an issue and the sink is too shallow. Frosted glass sliding doors on commode area and shower afford no privacy at all. Storage and closet are adequate, but the "mini bar refrigerator" takes up space that could be used for storage. I would suggest repositioning the mini-bar to a lower level and using that space for eye-level storage.

After an hour of eating ourselves silly and exploring our home for the week, we went up to our balcony room on floor 13 in room 13256. The rooms themselves catered for 3 people, two single beds which looked like a double bed and then a sofa bed which pulled out, the room itself was compact but you spend so little time in your room that it doesn't really affect you. For us, we pulled the mattress from the sofa bed out onto the balcony and used it as another bedroom which was better for night times as it felt less compact.

Cabin. We were in 13289, an aft-balcony cabin. They are much smaller than they appear. We chose one with the bed near balcony. You can differentiate where the bed is by looking at the floor plan online and noting where the curve in the wavy wall is. The wall will be curving out from the room and the bed fits in that curve. We didn’t want the bed near the door, because the toilet is literally beside your head. The bathroom setup is as weird as reported. Both the shower and the toilet have semi-opaque doors and there is a curtain separating them from the rest of the cabin. The sink is small, but we didn’t have any problems with it. There is a lot of storage. A decent sized closet, drawers underneath the couch, several cabinets and shelves, storage above the bed and storage behind the upper couch cushions and suitcase storage underneath the bed. There is only one electrical outlet with 2 plugs. We brought a plug-in that expands one plug in to three. The balcony is spacious enough for a lounge chair, two regular chairs and a small table. The bed is a queen size, firm and pretty comfortable, although very short. The cons of this particular part of the ship is when people smoke on their own balconies, the smoke comes right back at all the balconies. Norwegian needs to look at putting all the smokers on one side of the ship. Also, we were 2 decks below the outdoor Spice Dance floor. A couple of nights they played music that vibrated the cabin until 2 am. Take some time to really look at all the deck plans and what might be over or under you in terms of noise.

Very bad stateroom. The layout of the room is slightly different, the bed is the first thing you see rather than the couch, so every time we had room service they had manoeuvre past the bed with the tray to set it on the counter. Not enough storage space for clothes no drawers just a rack to hang shirts, etc. This was removed from the original layout because this room has a connecting door to the next cabin. Nice balcony with two chairs and excellent view, it would've been nice to have a table to be able to enjoy our breakfast outside. Not much walking space, my husband and I were constantly battling to move around the cabin.
The speaker for announcements was broken so you had to open the door if you wanted to hear something. The door wouldn't lock properly. The room is not easily accessible, really far away from lifts or staircases.

Our room was located at the end of a short hall. It was great, quiet! Loved the storage. Close to the aft elevators, never a wait, fast. Sometimes a little water gathered on the balcony, I am sure they would have mopped if requested.

Aesthetically nice cabin but, the bath drain stopper did not work, the advertised "refrigerator" turned out to be what the staff told me was a "cooler", the air conditioning did not work (a problem for an Alaskan traveling the Caribbean!), the "Queen Bed" was actually two twins put together; which was okay except they were too short (and I am only 5"11" tall) so I had to sleep sideways from corner to corner so my feet would not hang off the end, and the steward did not speak much english!

The interior cabin is very well designed and makes good use of it's space. You can't hear your neighbors. It includes a fridge, hair dryer, ice bucket, glasses, shampoo and body wash. You need to remember to bring hair conditioner and body lotion. One of the great part of this cruise is that the staff isn't overbearing. It may have been a nice touch if our stateroom guy would have introduced himself on the first day (Like they do on Princess) and we didn't know which one was assigned to our room until the 2nd last day but that was a minor detail to us. Our room was cleaned when we put the sign to clean it and all the staff were very friendly.

Wave design of room made it seem even smaller. Do away with the couch or redesign it because its rounded shape does not lend it self to comfortable extra seating or lounging, nor does it open to an extra bed. Oh yes, the vessel sink in the room. Too small, poor design water gets everywhere. GREAT storage. Attentive staff. I am still not convinced they changed the sheets daily, but as they are attempting to go 'green' that is ok by us.  Read entire member review.

It is obvious that ship designers wanted to maximize the usable interior space, reducing the cabin square footage to a minimum. Placing the lavatory outside the toilet area was the ridiculous idea and a major flaw in the design. The stateroom's entrance area was too tight.  Read entire member review.

Mini-suite floor 12 12261. At back of ship but right by the lift. We were very pleasantly surprised. It was larger than we had anticipated and yes there was a little sink, but we only washed hands and cleaned teeth etc., so no problem. We had a sofa by the sink with the bed at the end so no trouble. My husband is over 6ft but he said he never sleeps straight out so he was fine. There is also a "modesty" curtain which separates toilet and bath, and although the toilet has a glass door you can pull the curtain. Lots and lots of cupboard space. We had a very large bath and a good shower. Bath robes as well. Balcony normal size with 2 chairs and 2 footstools/tables. No noise at all from our room - except normal noise from adjoining cabins when on balconies.  Read entire member review.
