Balcony Stateroom Cabins 37 Reviews
Norwegian Epic Balcony Staterooms have room for up to three guests and feature floor-to-ceiling glass doors that open to a private balcony with an incredible view. They include a separate bathroom with shower, two lower beds that convert into a queen-size bed, a sitting area and additional bedding to accommodate one more.

Good Times aboard the Epic by liveoncelovelife

The Epic has the odd shower/toliet sink split thing. Very odd but it does allow for more than one person to get ready at a time.

The cabin was modern and well appointed with a flat panel TV, two twin beds pushed together and a kind of slide out day bed. We travelled with a six year old and the slide out day bed was barely adequate for her; don't know how you would put a 15 year old goliath on one. The balcony was fine but there are lifeboats one deck below which causes a minor view obstruction.

The layout of the bathroom was awkward and non-functional. There is a shower stall and a separate toilet stall both with frosted glass surrounds; a curtain separates the bathroom area from the rest of the cabin. The kid loved to see through the glass to watch us; kind of off-putting. Also odours tended to come up from the toilet into the toilet stall; it was not pleasant.

My First Cruise by Firsttri

Although quite small, it was adequate. I did find it difficult to sleep with the engine noises and vibration. The person who did our room daily was amazing. I have no idea what my cabin category was (Room 9281) so just selected a category to get this review accepted.

We had 2 cabins, balcony cabin 11104 for us and the corresponding inside stateroom across the hall 11106 for the kids. Our cabins were great and our cabin staff was excellent...absolutely no issues there. Our location was fine but we did find that the layout of NCL Epic was a bit odd. We later heard that Epic was stationed in Europe apparently because us Americans could not stand the layout...and we completely agree. Having experienced Royal Caribbean before this cruise...and loving the layout of Freedom of the Seas...that fact was very was frustrating.

Tiny room as it is too narrow - no space between bed and built in closets - they need about 2 more feet. Whoever planned this must have been drunk. The balcony was great with an overhead. Very tiny table on balcony. Loved the toilet and shower. A little far from the elevator but that gave us exercise for the day.  Read entire member review.
An EPIC vacation!!! by BWLCRUISE
Cabin 11043 was a great cabin. The bed was right by the balcony. So this room design was ideal based on the wavy design of the balcony rooms on the Epic.  Read entire member review.

Forward on 11th deck - great balcony, quiet location and not far from elevator.  Read entire member review.
Fantastic storage, beautiful, small but efficient, quiet.  Read entire member review.

While we had heard and read many bad reviews regarding the layout of the staterooms, we found our stateroom to be beautiful and well appointed with ample storage. The bathroom near the door is where ours has been in most of our previous cabins, the shower on one side with curved, frosted glass doors and the toilet on the other side, also with sliding, frosted glass doors. We did end up with a cabin where the bed was just off the balcony rather than next to the bathroom, so that may have been why we were happy with the layout. Some, depending on which way the wall curved, had the bed very near the bathroom. Our steward, Romel was wonderful and kept our cabin at its best. Our balcony was fine, however we had standard deck chairs and we saw later on in the cruise some lounge chairs where just the back leaned back a bit with no footrest. That would have been preferable since one of the downsides we encountered on the Epic was NO quiet public space and we would have spent much more time on our balcony if the chairs had reclined some and been more comfortable.

We were in cabin 11064. The cabin is VERY narrow, particularly in front of the bed. This is a cabin that can hold 3, but honestly, I would not have wanted to have three people in this room. The toilet with opaque door was on the left, shower with opaque door on the right and behind the shower a small vanity with the sink. The vanity had a nice feature with a sliding drawer hamper for used towels. There was plenty of storage in the medicine cabinet above the vanity as well as storage for small towels and for the bath towels in the vanity cubbies. The bed in our cabin was located next to the balcony. In some of these cabins, the bed is located next to the sink and bathroom set up. This is because of the wave design. The bed is placed in the concave of the wave; the couch in the convex of the wave. Depending on where the concave/convex is in the particular cabin will determine if your bed is by the balcony or closer to the entry door and the sink and vanity. My friends were in a balcony room the opposite set-up from ours and I think the bed near the balcony is a better set-up. It feels a little larger and it is nice to have the bed away from the sink/bathroom area. Other than that, the bathroom set-up was not an issue for us. The room was adequately cleaned each day and turn-down was always nice with a new towel animal each night. The bed was very comfortable with really nice soft bedding. I would book this room again. Storage in the cabin: Good storage for the most part, with a nice large closet for most of the clothes (lit up inside when doors opened) and good storage behind the couch. The suitcases fit nicely under the bed as well. However, there is another smaller wardrobe-type closet in the room that has three drawers for storage underneath. This closet was very narrow and was useless for handing clothes (no hangars either) and the drawers were very narrow (about 7-8" wide) it was difficult to get clothes into them. Again, this is all due to the "wave" design of the room. Balcony: The balcony was a nice size with two chairs and a very small table. It was definitely adequate. The glass was not clean when we got on and it only got worse with salt spray during the cruise.  Read entire member review.
Quiet location, great balcony, lots of storage space, great view.  Read entire member review.
Handicapped cabin inthe aft of ship. Very near elevator banks. Huge room, large bathroom with shower and toilet inone space rather than two. Huge balcony.  Read entire member review.
Cabin 11272 Handicapped Balcony cabin. Tiny! Tiny! Tiny! On every other line (we have been on 5) it was larger and better set up. Only one chair to sit on. Balcony was large only because the ship widened out nest to us. 2 chairs & 1 lounge with 1 miniature table were there.  Read entire member review.
Dining rooms were noisy. Huge balcony. Elevators were very warm and stuffy. Huge amount of storage space - did not even fill everything up.  Read entire member review.
Lots of Storage, not much floor space. Balcony was a good size. Toilet and Shower behind frosted glass, not the most private.  Read entire member review.
Epic Good Time by Cruisejunky1000
Great Location, It was beyond the stairs and elevators and a dead end so it was very quiet. It is also sandwiched between decks with rooms above and below.  Read entire member review.
Do not book if with a friend no privacy! It would be great for a couple, horrible for friends. The beds could only be separated about 10 inches. No privacy for shower or toilet.  Read entire member review.

A Memorable Vacation by no1buckeyes
We thought the cabin was fine. Some reviews were negative about the setup with the toilet on one side and the shower on the other. You could not see inside because of the frosted glass. Also, there was a curtain separating that area from the rest of the cabin. The balcony was very nice and they got us an extra chair. The beds were comfortable, and there was ample storage for our belongings.  Read entire member review.
Our wheelchair accessible cabin was spacious, but not as spacious as the ones we had on other NCL ships, such as the Jewel, the Dawn and the Pearl. However, we had a very large balcony (about 150 sq. ft.)  Read entire member review.

A very nice oversized cabin. It is designed to be wheelchair accessible but I was allocated it as a last minute booking. The automatic door on the cabin takes a bit of getting used to, you have to allow it to close in its own time or it will close then re-open by itself allowing any passers-by an excellent view into the cabin and whatever you might be doing inside. The size of the sink is a terrible design flaw and the surrounding floor was regularly drenched. Definitely worth getting a balcony on this ship as a refuge from the throngs of people. This cabin has a lovely deep balcony. By and large a very quiet cabin but was definitely woken by the vibration of the ship coming in to port.

Last Time on NCL by aramcokid
Our room was small but nice. Soundproofing is good and we rarely were disturbed by neighbors. Beds are very small and even at 5"7" my toes hung off the end. Loved the balcony where I spent much time reading. Staff service was excellent both in our room at at restaurants. The sink in the room is a joke. It is virtually impossible to use without getting water on the counter and on yourself. It's noteworthy that every comedy show we went to on the ship made reference to the pathetic little sinks.  Read entire member review.
Just awkward, but no real issues.  Read entire member review.

Norwegian Epic (disaster) by Billharley2004
Great Balcony, room was nice but it needs to have some repairs done! There is a broken draw under the sink area and it was totally busted!  Read entire member review.
Deck 8

Fantastic cabin with a very good steward.

We had three cabins. Please note that an "enclosed balcony" is a very restricted view of the water. The port cabins have more drawer space than the starboard cabins.

Size DOES matter! by Vancscribbler

I had been looking forward to trying NCL's new wavy wall cabin. Our balcony cabin was ridiculous! The best thing was the shower...NCL gets it perfect...ample size, easy controls with sliding glass door instead of that flimsy curtain that soaks the floor. But you'd better be close to whoever you share ...because the toilet is also glass enclosed and not even a draw curtain will hide ANY of the variety of sounds you will hear...and I'm not talking about the flushing! And the sink is right in the sleeping washing, brushing and any water slopping is a public activity. The rest of cabin layout itself was also weird: the sofa, near the balcony, faced the wardrobe cabinet sitting facing the bulkhead of a plane ... great for legroom, but not something to look forward to for weeks. The tv was well over to the left, in front of the bed, but did not swivel, so to watch you could either look sideways, get into bed ..or sit on the end with the screen 18 inches from you face. The balcony was great ...but had the tiniest table at sea...about a foot I envied the Oasis of the Seas balconies when it docked beside us with full size tables on their balconies.

Average by Winnigirl

We chose an aft-facing balcony cabin for ourselves and our daughter was in a studio. The studios for singles is the one area where Norwegian really excels. We were so impressed with her cosy little room - just right for one and along with it the perks of single cruising. As for our cabin - I'm not a fan of "plastic" woodgrain and it was the smallest cabin we've ever experienced. There was ample storage, but it was so spread out through the cabin you had to stop and think "now, where are my t-shirts? where did I put the shorts?" The bathroom set up was "odd", but didn't bother us. The shower was spacious and the water temperature was always exactly right. We had an over-sized balcony which we enjoyed immensely. Once again - it wasn't horrible, it wasn't amazing - it was average. I really don't understand the curved walls - I assumed it was to make one feel that they were a-sailing over the ocean blue - but it made a small space seem even smaller.
