Balcony Cabins 39 Reviews
Norwegian Epic Balcony Staterooms have room for up to three guests and feature floor-to-ceiling glass doors that open to a private balcony with an incredible view. They include a separate bathroom with shower, two lower beds that convert into a queen-size bed, a sitting area and additional bedding to accommodate one more.

As has been reviewed & discussed elsewhere on the net, the standard balcony cabins are impractical, uncomfortable, awkward and just plain stupid. When you step into the cabin you are actually in the bathroom with the shower on one side and the toilet on the other each enclosed by semi-transparent sliding doors resulting in very little privacy. A tiny sink is located at the foot of the smallish bed making it impossible for 2 people to squeeze past each other. There was ample closet space and the balcony was a good size.  Read entire member review.

The design of the cabin was fine but felt that there was not enough room between the bed and the counter. I actually liked the bathroom design.  Read entire member review.

Great location, Great balcony, close enough to everything.  Read entire member review.

My spacious (for one) balcony was so pleasant that I thoroughly enjoyed spending all of Days 9 and 10 in it due to a cold. I chose a stateroom with the bed closer to the balcony door. The ship has incorporated a pioneering method to maximize the overall use of space: mirrored room designs with curved walls, so that half of all balcony cabins have the bed close to the balcony door. The bed is closer to the sink, bathroom, and shower in the other half. Even if I had a room with the bed closer to the sink, I don't think it would have made much difference, as I had no issue with water splashing or spilling. Nonetheless, it was nice to sleep right next to the balcony doors, which happens to be quite similar to my home situation. There was plenty of storage, again for one, even on an 11-night cruise, and lighting and other furnishings were well laid-out. Hint: You can turn off the display on the phone, which otherwise serves as a sort of night light. The shower was more than roomy enough for one. The bathroom was fine for me (5' 8", 200 lbs), but larger persons could find it tight. All of the materials in the room appeared to be of high quality and durable.  Read entire member review.

Balcony Cabin - curve design. Narrow cabin, very comfortable bed and great lighting. Account info on tv, tv channels good. Nice Balcony Sofa - waste of space Separate loo and shower/sink - found absolutely fine.  Read entire member review.

Good bathroom. Good Shower. Cabin has "wavy wall" architecture where there are no straight walls but rather a serpentine structure. Detracts from the overall mobility in the cabin. Good closet and storage space. Good balcony. Doors very hard to open due to the closing spring.  Read entire member review.

Cabin is small (151 square feet) with a larger, uncovered balcony (65 square feet). Very quiet area of ship and close to aft elevators.  Read entire member review.

Actual cabin was okay, my only gripe is that the balcony was uncovered and I feel that it would of been nice if someone could of told us that when we booked. Even when I got in contact with NCL and they eventually got back to me, they weren't really concerned. Lets face it they had our money by this stage.  Read entire member review.

Epic is beautiful by Seagrimms
Great storage and closets, quiet location, sink problem fixed, our balcony jutted out more than the balconys above which prevented privacy.  Read entire member review.

In our group of 5 we all had balcony staterooms that were beautiful. Mine was custom decorated with a bottle of wine, cake, and chocolate covered strawberries. There was plenty of room for all of our clothes and personal belongings. If fact we did not fill up half of the cabinets in our room. The balcony was awesome with two chairs and a table to relax and enjoy the sunsets and sunrises. There was only one outlet that we found in the cabin but we had brought a power strip so we were able to charge all electronics. The only down side to the cabin was that the bed was too hard for me. However, my boyfriend stated that it was comfortable. The cabin boy was great and he seemed available 24/7. He was very helpful with every question we had. He would make animals out of towels everyday that brought a smile to our faces.

EPIC Adventure by hjmckellar
Great room in quite location had all items that you would require decent size balcony - cupboard above sink for toiletries this was a nice touch which I have not seen before. The only thing if anything it was lacking was electrical sockets - we had two but in this day and age of cameras, e books , phones etc and a kettle all wanting charging another few in more accessible places would have been appreciated  Read entire member review.

Our First Epic Cruise by Isabella Benjamin
Cabins 10031 and 10035 - Tons of storage space, fits 3 adults, unobstructed balcony view, balconies can be open between them. The balconies are covered. Tiny shower, the sofa bed fits just one and is a bit on the hard side. Has cabins both above and below it and is very quiet. Not too much ship movement.  Read entire member review.

Balcony excellent size, cabin storage good, bed too small and rounded at sides, 6'1 husband's feet stuck out from bed a foot! Sink too small next to bed could brush teeth and sit on bed. Hard to squeeze by foot of bed to get to balcony and sofa, because we had to pull bed from wall so husband could fit on bed. This cabin would have a 3 star rating if it weren't for the excellent size of the balcony.  Read entire member review.

Large enough balcony cabin and although a bit small, the balcony itself was handy. Nice touches in room such as coffee maker and fridge (just don't use anything out of it as they are not cheap!)  Read entire member review.

I explained my cabin in my review. But again, if you are 3 people and they are selling you a standard balcony room, Don't take it!!! Book larger or book another cruise line or ship  Read entire member review.

cabin 10064 balcony.nice cabin but don't like wave design, bad bathroom design.sink too small and away from bathroom. don't like curved bed - feet stick out of bottom. comfortable mattress. no space at end of bed to walk. great balcony which offers tranquility away from the madness. lots of storage space. state rooms away from entertainment as having cruised with Carnival in which our cabin was over a karaoke bar, is why we like design of ncl ships.  Read entire member review.

Many Pros & Cons by Nigel Ellis

The cabin was spacious with many good technical features (TV, lighting, aircon control, phone, soundproofing) and a lot of storage space; it was a huge plus to have a balcony at an affordable price. Tea & coffee machine was also a bonus, though the actual tea and coffee were both poor quality, as was coffee throughout the ship. The controversial bathroom layout seemed to work well; the bed was comfortable but (because of the curvy layout) was not long enough for a 6-footer and the duvet material had balled badly up through washing.

Epically excellent by otispunkmeyer
Cabin 10072 is a balcony stateroom (standard) on the left hand side of the ship. To us this seemed to be the side always looking out to sea which is nice if you like that. We tend to like something to look at but then again it all depends on your route! The cabin was excellent. Slight squeeze in certain spaces such as the narrow passage between the foot of the bed and the fitted cupboard/work top area but nothing to get worked up about. The wavy walled cabins on this boat mean that the cabins top and tail with their neighbouring cabins. This means the layouts alternate from bed close to the door to bed close to the balcony. Unfortunately this cabin is the former. The location of the bed can make the entrance feel quite cramped, especially if there are more than two of you. In the other arrangement there is a lot more free space around the sofa which makes the entrance feel more open. Sound proofing is excellent and this is aided by the location of the cabin. Close to the lifts at the front of the ship, but not so close so as to mean a lot of foot traffic past your door. Also separated from the main activity decks by 3 decks below and 4 decks above so you are pretty much guaranteed not to be disturbed at all. Balcony is a standard size, well clear of the protruding life boats so the view is undisturbed. Room posses a stupid amount of storage. There is a full and half height wardrobe, 3 large draws, 3 cupboards on the main fitting (one with a safe), the bed has a cavernous space beneath it, the sofa backs hinge forward revealing two more cupboards and there are two sliding drawers attached to the underside of the sofa! This is topped off with two smaller cubby holes in the wavy roof lining. So if you brought it there is space for it. Lighting scheme was really well done and we loved the frosted glass shower and toilet enclosures, very fun!  Read entire member review.

Impressive but... by akupupule
This handicap cabin was a nice size with plenty of storage and a large balcony. It was noisy with the crew access door 2 cabins down.  Read entire member review.

Cabin 10279. This was an aft location where there was a slight bumpout for balcony space. It was also in good proximity to the Aft Elevators. Storage was great. Bed was near the door, couch near the balcony. On this ship, I prefer the cabin closer to the Forward Elevators.  Read entire member review.

Epic Disappointment by SoFloCruzer
We stayed in cabin 10284 which is a balcony cabin. The room was very small with little to no room for 2 average size people to move around. The bed was round and my feet hung off the end every night which made sleeping difficult (i am 6'1"). Storage was good...that's all I can say that was good about the cabin.  Read entire member review.
