Cabins are small. with little room to walk. The decor is very nice, with lots of mirrors to make it look bigger. Watch out for the mirror on the bathroom door that faces you as you sit down - not very appealing!  Read entire member review.

Beautifully decorated, plenty of storage space, nice-sized window for the bottom deck (much larger than a porthole). There was some noise at night, particularly if we were docked (movement of the ship against the dock or another ship), or sailing in the middle of the night (starting the engines caused considerable noise). I was so tired most nights that this didn't bother me enough to complain.

Every room on this ship (except the suites) is the same. The only difference is the distance from the front/back of the ship (Category 3 vs Category 2) and the type of window (Category 1 has a French balcony).

We had the lowest cabin on the boat. It was a bit small, but tastefully decorated, comfortable with adequate storage. We had a large window (not a porthole). Shower was good, plenty of hot water and pressure the entire time. It was quiet, could not hear neighbors or engine.

We were on the River Ambassador which went in service in 1996 and refurbished in 2006. Our Amadeus ship was only one year old and I was thinking that the River Ambassador would seem old. But it did not seem old, in fact it seemed new. The decor was very classy with white and beige colors, the carpet looked new and the dining room was very elegant. All the cabins are the same size on the River Ambassador. Yes, they are small but very well layed out, lots of storage space and our suitcases and carry-ons fit under the bed. I'd say about the same size as an inside cabin on an ocean cruise ship. We never mind the size of the cabins as we are not in our cabins that muchjust getting ready for the day and changing clothes. A hint: I always travel with a couple over-the-door hangers and used two of them for our coats, and to hang the clothes we were wearing that day. They just help expand the closet space.
