Our room was on Deck 7 at the front of the ship - facing forwards not on the side. It is a standard Veranda room with a slightly larger veranda. Being at the front has its drawbacks and benefits - it pitches more in choppy/rough seas and is noisier from the wind when underway. I have read reviews where people complain about the ropes/anchor when arriving/departing from port - but actually we really enjoyed watching the crew at work. A benefit is that you can see where you are going - obviously better when it is not dark and given that Azamara prides itself on late departures this is frequently in the dark! It is a quiet room with regard to the footfall passing your room.
And finally Edwin and Jose were wonderful room attendants.

Cabins are small and the shower curtain attacks but we happen to love the R ships. (This is our 5th cruise on this type of ship over 3 brands). Bed was comfortable as were pillows but bed beginning to slope on side next to bathroom from sitting on the side of the bed. Placement excellent for laundry rooms and very good for elevator. Halls are quiet and elevators fairly fast. Pleasant on the balcony though table is in way of the door.

Stateroom was exceptional. Good water pressure and temperature in the shower (important for most), comfortable bed, lots of storage, clean, nice balcony and room service was always efficient and timely. No complaints.

Cabins were about the same size as normal [at least for us], storage could be better .. Bathroom was a little small but functional .. The Sunset Veranda [7116] was about 3 x bigger than the standard veranda but unfortunately was a magnet for 'soot' whenever we were in port [we had a bath mat at our sliding door to stop the dirt tracking into the cabin] however it was still quite magnificent to go out and watch the wake ..  Read entire member review.
