Overall a good trip by gdaddytobermuda
Awesome cabin - great location between Neptune Lounge and stairs/elevators.  Read entire member review.

Our cabin, #11, was right below the pool area and when tables and chairs were moved we could hear it in our cabin. this was only a problem during the day. The veranda was very roomy and had nice padded lounges and a nice size table with 4 chairs. The personal room safe was very inconvenient. Had to get down on hands and knees to open and close it as it was located in a low cabinet. Plenty of closet and drawer space. Lovely windows and doors. Would have preferred a walk in shower instead of shower/tub combo as it was hard to get in and out of the high tub.  Read entire member review.

Our room was very nice although it had not been thoroughly cleaned when we were allowed to go to the room. There was some cleaning supplies left out, and the two sinks were very messy. Kind of gross. We found Tato, our steward, and he quickly corrected. The extra space proved especially helpful with having our two girls with us and proved to work quite well. I wouldn't consider doing this foursome in a room like this unless it was family (it would be difficult with another couple). The balcony was especially nice being essentially twice the size of other balconies: full table and 4 chairs and two chaise lounges along with a side table for your drinks. And plenty of extra room around all of those places to sit so you didn't feel at all cramped. The dressing room was nice as it has a curtain for privacy while dressing. The sliding doors for the closet are a joke: they jam up on one another; it is a really bad design. The sofa is leather, however, it is very worn and not too comfortable; it is time for it to be replaced or reupholstered. The bathroom is ample size, but the tub is showing signs of wear and really needs to be re-caulked and is looking very old; it is scratched pretty heavily. There is ample room to put your suitcases under your bed. We had many and they all fit (some inside of the others).  Read entire member review.

This was my 13th cruise and I have never seen better. Granted it was a more expensive cabin then I usually get. Deluxe veranda vs veranda. We were directly across from the "Neptune Lounge" and I considered that a plus. No noise but close to the coffee and snacks. If I was doing it again I would try for the same cabin.  Read entire member review.

Huge suite for a cruise ship. Private balcony the size of an interior cabin. Most comfortable bed ever on a cruise ship. Vast storage space. Blond wood, brown sofa, orange chairs. Gold, tan, orange and brown tones for textiles. Decor was tasteful. Crew kept room confidently clean, including the wall of window glass looking out over balcony. Views were incredible inside and out. Dressing room has a second sink. Refrigerator in bar kept beverages nicely chilled. Air conditioning functioned perfectly. Outside, you could hear the occasional din from a pump on the deck overhead. It did not spoil the atmosphere. Inside, the suite was dead quiet all the time. Several minor material flaws: Bathroom sink drain chrome trim damaged. Porcelain in toilet bowl is scoured. Missing trim cap on closet door bored a hole in the paneling adjacent to closet. This is a handicap accessible suite; there is no tub, but a large, low step in shower. Two shower chairs fold out for use within. Seats had some mildew stain. Vanity counter top in dressing room has been cosmetically damaged by solvent spill. Living area chairs had faint stain on them. Flaws did not diminish an overall excellent accommodation; level of comfort was unsurpassed in my experience.  Read entire member review.

Cabin 35 and Cabin 006 were both suites and were excellent. Best decision we ever made on a cruise. Service was outstanding for suite guest. Own private club on same deck. Always coffee, tea, sandwiches, continental breakfast, etc. Also Internet and TV.  Read entire member review.

What a great cruise!!!! by travelingeagle91
Our Stateroom 033 was very nice we had a Deluxe Veranda Suite which was well appointed the only word of warning for those who book a suite on the Veendam is the Lido pool is right above the suites and if you book a suite under the pool you will hear the kids running back and forth and the staff at 5 a.m. when they move around the furniture to clean the pool deck so book a suite all the way in the back or all the way in the front. Just look at the ship floor plan before you pick your room and use your best judgment and you will be fine. Also on the last day we were able to see the Penthouse Suite (001) because we got off late and the people in the Penthouse got of early. The only word to describe the Penthouse Suite is WOW!! It is hard to go back to your stateroom after you have seen the Penthouse. It has two marble bathrooms, a walk in closet, a butler's pantry with; a refrigerator, microwave, and a sink. The Penthouse Suite also has a large dining room table for 8 people as well as a big living room. For those who get to travel in the Veendam's Penthouse consider the rest of us jealous!!!  Read entire member review.

Deluxe Veranda Suite (Neptune Lounge)..fantastic location, but the staff needs to know that when you pay $30K or more for a room, you need to be treated with utmost service, and the ship iteself needs to be spic and span...This ship didn't have it compared to the Eurodam.
