Cabin 105 on the Veendam was lovely. The bathroom could use a little more places to store toiletries, but I brought along a shoebag to hang over the door and had more than enough room for everything. The veranda was a delight, beds comfy with lots of pillows, plenty of storage, good placement of tv, nice area for room service, and overall a very nice cabin. Read entire member review. |

We paid about $1,300 for a veranda, which seemed high to me. We only paid slightly more in June 2012 for a veranda on the Zuiderdam to Alaska. But the room was very nice.
It seemed larger than other verandas that we've had. The couch was a full size couch, and not just a love seat. And there were 9 drawers in the desk area, so there was more storage room than we could actually fill.
The balcony was quite deep, but had metal instead of glass facing the ocean. Which meant the view while sitting/lying down wasn't as good. But the balcony did have a lounger plus chair.
Hard to control the temperature in the stateroom. The thermostat seemed to have no control over the temperature.
Great location, just steps away from the elevators and stairs at the front of the ship. Read entire member review. |

Nice large verandah suite cabin on Dec 9 (Verandah), starboard (right side looking forward), a few steps away from the front elevators and stairs. Two large closets with wooden hangars (non-attached to poles) and changeable shelf space, small safe. (configured) Queen size bed, comfortable, 6 pillows of varying firmness, plenty of room underneath to store large suitcases (although we nested them with the carry ons. Phone on night stand with 2 drawers in each. Reading lights as well as room control lights at door and at headboard.Dressing table with 9 drawers. Flat screen TV on swivel base with DVD player underneath. Wire fruit bowl (can order fruit from room service? - we didn't) Tray, nice water, cocktail and wine glasses and ice bucket. Full size sofa(bed) - glass cocktail and side table - mini-fridge (really just a cooler with selection of soda, mixers and a couple of mini bottles of booze and wine - for fees listed in room book).
Nice size balcony - one teak padded lounger and one padded chair with small table and ashtray.
Biggest bathroom I've had in 12 cruises - whirlpool tub (although not very deep) with handheld shower. Elemis shampoo, conditioner and (minty)shower gel in wall dispensers. Lotion and shower cap at sink. Everything clean, but slightly worn.
Cabin service was good - unobtrusive, room always tidied up while we were gone.
Cabin soundproofing and location. Thin walls - heard women humming while she was unpacking. Can't tell you what they heard from their side! Deck/lounger chairs and Pads got soaked on trip home on that side of ship - balcony not usable that day and 1/2. Port side cabin may be better for that reason.

Our room was in a perfect spot! It was on the Ninth floor right off the stair case. It was very quiet even though it was centrally located. We went two flights up for the buffet and pool. We only went one floor down to the dining room and public areas. The room was large! We had a queen sized bed, a good sized love seat. We had a beautiful balcony that faced Front Street in Hamilton. The storage is awesome! It was just the two of us while our girls had an inside room on the 5th floor. We were able to have them come into our room for room service or a drink. It was quite comfortable. Read entire member review. |

Cabin 194 seemed small considering HAL claims that it was 283-294 sq ft. It seemed like is was more like the RCL/Celebrity size cabin which are about 190 sq ft. HAL probably counts the balcony as total space whereas RCL probably does not. Therefore it is hard to compare apples to apples. That aside, the cabin was in a good location since it was near the elevators and only two decks removed from the lido deck where the pool and eating area. It was only one level down to the decks where most lounges were so you could easily walk. Read entire member review. |
