We had an AF mini suite. Loved the balcony. Bathroom was wonderful - really bigger than our bathroom at home! OK our bathroom at home is really small. (You walk in and the sink is in front of you, toilet on one side of that with a sliding glass door and full tub/shower combo on other side of sink with sliding glass as well) Personally I would go bananas if we had been 3 or 4 people in that space and could have stood a little more room but as far as decor and convenience of amenities I really couldn't find a thing to complain about. DH and I managed quite well. Wish there could be an electrical outlet in the bathroom because I would prefer drying my hair in there. We were always unplugging something to plug something else in. A small and minor inconvenience. I did suggest as a small token amenity, they place a small pad of paper and a pencil or pen in the staterooms. It would have come in handy but I know for next time and will make sure I have my own.  Read entire member review.

Inside cabin 11037 - The noisiest cabin I have ever seen!!! I have no idea what is surrounding it, but frankly it sounds like steerage on Titanic AFTER hitting the iceberg! Creaking, groaning, and banging 24/7. Minisuite 11032 - lovely cabin, ample balcony....however the airtight seal on the doors is gone, which meant that you got to hear the crash of the waves thru the night, as well as the ridiculously loud party on deck pulling out of Port Canaveral.  Read entire member review.

Good location, near the stairs (but not too close), then up one flight to the buffet and down five to a main restaurant. Only occasional noise from the pool deck above. Balcony seemed "standard" size. It is covered by an overhang that extends well past the rail. Bathroom setup is the best - bathtub included. There's nothing noisy in the space across the hall. Closet space adequate for two on a long cruise.  Read entire member review.

Great mini-suite. Enough room for 3 people to pack and unpack as well as hang out before dinner. Lots of closet space and great bathroom with a tub/shower.  Read entire member review.

Our mini-suite on mid ship was spacious and modern, with a good sized bathroom with bath and proper shower, excellent bed, TV, desk, mini bar and quite spacious balcony etc. Cabin was quiet only on balcony noise from neighbours was sometimes disturbing.  Read entire member review.

Gem - Spring Equinox by digcruising
Our cabin was AF so it was a larger cabin with a veranda. Great drawer and closet space. Bathroom had a tub and was large fro a cabin bath. Even so I felt that there was no space to place your lugage except under the bed. They provided adequate towels and terry robes. I would give the cabin an A.  Read entire member review.

WE LOVED THE GEM! by P&Lcruising
Norweigian Gem 11150 aft balcony AF - great in every way, not a complaint. Lots of closet and drawer space, clean, the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Nice big bathroom with tub.  Read entire member review.

Nice and quiet--except for early mornings when you hear furniture being moved above in the Great Outdoors. Plenty of storage space. No curtain between the bed & couch but we didn't miss it. This cabin has the bed closest to the balcony (which I preferred)  Read entire member review.

We were in 11150, an aft AF. This cabin has a slightly different configuration from other AFs in that the location of the bed/couch is reversed, so the bed is closest to the balcony doors. No curtain separating the two areas (but it looked like there may have been one there perhaps they remove it since there were only two of us in the cabin?). We LOVE the aft cabins! However for some it could be problematic, since theres more motion in the stern, and more vibration (yes, trying to talk EVERYONE out of booking these cabins so theyre left for us!). We also had issues with our balcony door (I understand this has been an issue for many of the aft cabins), which despite many visits from maintenance, continued throughout the cruise. Around day 8 I realized that if, while out on the balcony, you pushed the door inwards, it would stay latched. Other times we wedged one of the chairs against the door so it wouldnt open and close. Inside, we got the famous stick to keep the door closed. This didnt in any way detract from our overall enjoyment of our cabin. We loved the huge closet and bathtub/shower combination; the tons of storage, as well as the extra (231 SF) space in this cabin, and would book this cabin again! Our cabin stewards were excellent they knew our schedule by the end of the first sea day and were very much on top of keeping our cabin spotless, with ice around 5:00, just when we needed it, and towel animals nearly every night.  Read entire member review.

Nice sized room. Ample closet and storage space. Beautiful aft facing balcony which was sunny and warm while crossing the chilly North Atlantic. Bathroom was a good size. Shower/Tub combination was awkward and slippery. A very quiet location.  Read entire member review.

A Gem of a Gem by wheresmypalmtree
We had a mini suite, and it was fine for two. Aft, dead center deck 11. Bathroom roomy, nice tub. They give you soap, shower gel and lotions. Always lots of towels, pillows were numerous and soft. Our room came with fruit if you wished, great hairdryers and a magnifying make up mirror, a great plus, as you can sit to dry your hair and do make up. Closet small, too dark, but made up with great big drawers. Quiet spot, close to restaurants, fantastic view. Upgrade to bigger suite will get you better extras, will do next time. Extras for larger suites include concierge, private breakfasts with vip menu @ Cagneys.I asked the captain if I could have Breakfast here, and Mirsad made the arrangements. Nice perk. Balcony roomy as well.  Read entire member review.

Good sized mini-suite on deck 11. A bit noisy at times when chairs were being arranged in the morning. This may have been due to the World Cup being shown late on TV most nights. Very handy for breakfast in the garden Cafe in the mornings. Comfortable looking sofa bed would have allowed two more sleep in the room with a reasonable level of comfor and space. Bathroom nice and spacious. Balcony chairs and table were OK. Occasional smell of smokers from neighbouring balcony.  Read entire member review.

Cabin 11522 (mini suite)- Forward, under the fitness center. Very quiet. Pretty close to the elevators. Convenient to pool and spa. Not a very large, but lots of storage, desk, hair dryer, floor to ceiling dresser/chest. 12 hangers in closet; bring your own if you need more. Bed is extremely comfortable. Couch is too. Bathroom is a nice size, with 8 oz lotions and shampoos, as well as an in-wall dispenser for shampoo and body wash. Every nook and cranny in this cabin was well-used for storage, including a small shelf by the door, perfect for a hat, flip flops, etc. Note: I am a VERY light sleeper, so if I didn't hear anything, you won't either!  Read entire member review.

Pros: Nicely appointed, large balcony, spacious bathroom w/ separate toilet stall and bathtub/shower combo, many closets and drawers, vanity table, mini-fridge, LCD television. Cons: No clock in room, poor lighting except in bathroom, bed wasn't high enough to fit deep pieces of luggage underneath.  Read entire member review.

Enjoyable cruise by twobacks
We stayed in a Mini-suite with balcony. The room was very spacious for a cruise ship. It had 285 square feet. The balcony had a nice view, and there were deck chairs to sit in. In the room, there was a small couch, TV, a queen sized bed, and a shower over tub. We slept very well even though on some nights there were rough seas.  Read entire member review.

Mini-suite on deck 11 w/balcony. Full bathroom with large tub/shower, sink & toilet. Seemed like a good size for a cruise ship. The only complaint I'd have about the suite is that the NCL website is somewhat misleading as far as suite amenities go. My impression was that by booking ANY suite, we'd enjoy suite concierge, priority embarkation/disembarkation, etc. Apparently, that's only for larger suites. Not a big deal, but the website should be clearer about it.  Read entire member review.

Awesome First Cruise by SudsyCanuk
Cabin: We were lucky to get cabin 11636 which has a balcony and is deemed a Mini-Suite. Our balcony was much larger than the ones adjacent because ours was the last cabin aft port side, and the balcony extended a good 3 feet beyond where our neighbor's would have ended. The washroom was well appointed with a tub and separate area for the toilet. We kept a pad of post-it-notes and a pen on one of the shelves so that we could leave each other messages as to where we were going to be. The bed was a full queen size, and the pull out was a double for the boys. there was a lot of storage space, and that is good because we Totally over packed. We went home with more clean clothes than dirty clothes. Although the first night, we had some noise issues, the spring breakers who made it were probably spoken to, and there were no issues after that. We did not have any other issues with the cabin, and our cabin steward, Mark Barbadu was at the top of his game, and deserves to be promoted to concierge. He did an awesome job, and was much appreciated. The cabin was usually made up while we were at breakfast, and turned down while we were at dinner. We had plenty of room for the four of us, even with the boys being 10 and 13. My wife figured that we would be better off if the cabin was cool, so turned on the AC. This was a mistake, as it was quickly turned into a sub-arctic zone. All this to say the AC and heaters work.  Read entire member review.

11150...Located at back of ship......directly beneath the outdoor sitting for the buffet area. The move the chairs and wash the area down at night. The noise several hundred chairs and tables moving is bad enough but washing the curd on the deck over the back of the ship is just NASTY. Pick another cabin for the price.  Read entire member review.

We always choose a cabin with a balcony. We need to smell fresh air. Plus, a quiet place to sit and view the ocean is a must. You can't bring you own iron. Thank goodness, our steward allowed free use of the one he supplied to use. We will bring our own bottled water next time because the bottled H2O in the room was $5.50 plus tax. Our room had a coffee pot, coffee bags, and creamers to use. We enjoyed a cup of coffee on the balcony every morning. We requested an egg crate on our bed because the mattress was uncomfortable. We had a couch in the cabin we never used and wish it was removed. It took up space. We did feel crowded in our so called mini suite. Plus, there was ONE eletrical outlet. This was nearly impossible to live with. We did like the wall safe and used it the entire trip. Our cabin was clean and well kept. Just wish we had more room.  Read entire member review.

Overall Ok. We had 4 people in the cabin and seemed to have enough room without tripping over one another.  Read entire member review.
