We had one of four family cabins on the ship. When we booked the fine detail of the cabin layout was not available as the ship was still being built. The second bedroom has no natural light and this made us nickname it "the cave". Although this was disappointing it gave my father in law his own separate and private space, which is a rare commodity on a ship unless you book a really expensive suite. The TV was so much more than a TV and we were impressed with the many things you could do on it. The room was large and very spacious, were were not crowded at all. I suppose this results from the cabin being on a corner of the ship. The furnishings and surface finishes were not very upmarket and looked quite cheap. Having just got off Eurodam the day before we embarked on Solstice gave us a good comparison. Eurodam furnishings and surface finishes were rich and inviting. Storage space was very inadequate and there were a number of walls that could have been used to mount wardrobes or other storage space. The balcony was rarely used as the wind was far too strong when the ship was underway. The two front facing windows were great as you could see where you were going and they gave lots of natural light. The roll away bed for my daughter was poor quality. The bathroom was excellent, plenty of space given it was on a ship. The cabin attendant was very helpful, no complaints.  Read entire member review.

Wish we had a TV in the bed room and not just in the living room  Read entire member review.

Great value in an FV... wind was seldom an issue on the balcony... cabin had a living room as well as a dining table and two chairs; extended balcony had a table and four chairs (2+2)... quiet, great location, great views forward and side.  Read entire member review.

Family Veranda cabin: More than enough room for our family of 5. Very comfortable accommodations. Only negative was the intense shaking and noise during the docking process EARLY each morning we came into port.  Read entire member review.

We were in the two family cabins on level 8 I think (the two with the smaller balconies). We were lucky to get them - we originally booked 2 ordinary cabins but then a couple of weeks before we set off I saw on the internet these two rooms had been released at the same rate. It was GREAT to have the space but they were VERY noisy in the morning when the anchors were dropped VERY early in ports, and they washed the windows every morning around 5am until we complained, and it did then stop! You aren't in the cabin much so space not essential but seperate room for kids meant we could stay up and watch film after kids in bed. Just take earplugs.  Read entire member review.
