This is an obstructed view cabin, but we could see over the lifeboat, which was just to the right of the window, and to the left were cables and what not. We were very happy with it.
We were not happy to find out that the deck 7 door to outside was directly under us and it slammed at all hours. Also, this room is directly across from the service area elevators where they bring in the luggage and room servicing carts. There was a lot of noise to say the least, and I was glad I had earplugs. There was a lot of motion and creaking in this room also. Sometimes it sounded like someone tapping on our door. Read entire member review. |

We were in cabin E408 on Emerald Deck 8. It was very quiet, clean, cozy and efficient. Whenever we sail, we always get an obstructed view cabin in the middle of the ship. It is the best value for the money. Since we don't stay in our room except to sleep & change clothes, a balcony is of no use to us. We like to be be able to look out and get some light in the room and don't mind seeing a lifeboat outside the window. It gives us a central location on the ship both up & down and forward & aft. In fact, our cabin was exactly the same as the one that my wife's brother had up on deck 10, with a balcony and paid $400 more for. Read entire member review. |

This room is classified as obstructed ocean view - HOWEVER - the view is not obstructed almost at all!!! We thought it was a great deal! Off to the right you'll see a side of a lifeboat but it is a few feet away and off to the left it is completely open. Below the window is an access ladder to the lifeboats. There were only men working there once during out cruise but it was during the day - no big deal. Even when they stand up on that platform they can't see in the window. Below the little platform and ladder is the deck on level 7 so you'll see people walking by down below. This is a fantastic ocean view room! It is centrally located, easy to go just one floor down to shows, the atrium, etc. It is also mid ship so the rocking was not too bad. The first night we had really bad waves as we passed through the Florida Straight - the desk creaked pretty loudly as the ship flexed with the waves - but we heard that everyone had that problem throughout the ship that night - it wasn't limited to our cabin. We were in E504, partially obstructed Oceanview on Deck 8. I really liked our cabin. All of the Oceanview cabins on deck 8 are laid out with the beds against the sidewalls just like in balcony cabins. The exceptions to this are any cabins for triples/quads, which have the beds against the window wall. The view from our cabin was pretty decent -- a nice view of both sea and sky, albeit with the top of a lifeboat thrown in for that "nautical touch". Bathrooms are typical Princess -- small and efficient. I am 6'1", and my partner is 6'3" and we both found the shower serviceable if not exactly spacious. The biggest issue was the tiny single shelf for toiletries in the shower. Next Princess cruise I will definitely bring some sort of shower caddy. There was more than ample closet and shelf space for the 2 of us for a 10 night voyage, even though we both packed on the heavy side. I like the small shelf on the bedside tables -- a great way to keep clutter at bay. The midship location on deck 8 was ideal as it was always and easy hop down/up the stairs from all the public spaces on decks 5-7. We only used the elevator when going up to deck 15. I had a window cabin, and it was a little small compared to previous cabins I have had, but acceptable. Read entire member review. |

Nice quiet hallway, close to art gallery, international cafe and atrium. Never crowded in the laundry room. Read entire member review. |
