Our oceanview stateroom offers value while picture windows provide your own view (categories F-G obstructed). Two twin beds make up into a queen-size bed. Other amenities include a refrigerator, television, closet and bathroom with shower. Approximately 168 square feet of space.
Clean room. A little smaller than the cabins on our other cruises, but it was good for what we needed. The balcony was the normal size for a cruise ship balcony. We were on deck 12 so our deck was private but the decks below us had staggered balconies and we could see what the people below us were up to---something I didn't really care to see. Beautiful view though and I would never cruise without a balcony.
At night there were weird noises in the cabin. It sounded one night as if there were critters running above the ceiling panels. We could hear the sound of the stabilizers or whatever motors they were and the beds shook so much I was expecting to end up on the floor some morning from rolling out of bed. Unobstructed Oceanview room on plaza deck (5th floor); good storage, beds not as comfortable as some but ok; don't like the bars on the oceanview window; well located; room not as big as some OV Read entire member review.
Our cabin was ok. Princess does not have a couch in the cabins we have had. The only place to sit was the bed or a desk chair which when pulled out is in the way. Our steward was not very good. I know this is a small thing but we did not have a name tag on our room. On the morning of the second day I told the steward bout it for the second time. That afternoon we still did not have a name tag and I told guest services and finally it showed up. Again, I know it is a small thing. Our cabin was not vacuumed often. The duvet had a stain on it.
I don't expect perfection but I do expect the cabin to be vacuumed and the duvet not to have stains.
Also on the Tuesday we booked the room we requested nightstands without lamps bolted to them because of the C-Pap machines we have. I did not get a reply until the Thursday after we sailed. There must be a better way. I took my tools I bring for diving out and unbolted the lamp on the left side of the bed for my wife's machine.
There were plenty of 110v plugs especially since I brought a power strip, a three way plug and extension cord. This is a necessity.
The stateroom is a little narrow due to adjacent stateroom bunk beds. Also, on our sailing the toilet smelled like raw sewage, though the spray sold at the store on deck 6 aleviated this. Once we got past these things, the stateroom was good. It is a very convenient location, close to the Piazza and in between the main elevators and the forward elevators. Read entire member review.
