OK - only downside was that hallway space next to our door was where the cabin steward left his cart every day Read entire member review. |

6148 - aft but nearest midships side. On Transatlantic to Southampton this is not the side to take advantage of any sunny weather, sunsets or sunrises as it is Port Side.
But otherwise a very good location - nearest the 'aft' lifts but round a corner and not affected by noise or passage of passengers - at a very spacious corner of the corridor before turning a corner to the slightly better balcony cabins in midships location. (ie. room to put down used trays - or to place luggage when disembarking). Also well positioned as regards the rolling and movement of the ship - think of the ship like a see-saw and the steadiest place is nearest the middle - so choose your cabin! As all balcony cabins are much the same - this was a very pleasant cabin and well located; also it was closest the 24 hour buffet 3 decks above - so for all one's needs - it was just 2 minutes' away from food and drink 24 hours a day!!! I would recommend this cabinas being ideal! Read entire member review. |

Struggled with a Walker getting in and out of the cabin but we knew that this may not be easy when we booked as we couldn't expect a disabled room just doing 1/3rd of the world cruise but the walker did fit through the door and if Virgilio (our cabin steward) was in the hallway he would rush up and arrange for the door to stay open until I got through which was so helpful.
6176 is close to lifts and straight down to the dining room for breakfast and dinner. Read entire member review. |

I like the word cabin - it's more friendly and homely than 'stateroom'. Our cabin was clean, very well serviced, and quite large enough for 2 - the balcony (veranda) also. The en-suite module could have been a little larger, with some more discreet storage (cupboards ?) for toiletries etc. As it was the vanity unit top was cluttered with all our bits & pieces. The air conditioning was excellent, and QUIET, which is not always the case on cruise ships. One small downside - the vacuum toilet system. Being an engineering designer who works on ships, I recognised immediately the loud knocking a loose pipe makes against the adjacent steel structure, every time someone on the deck above 'flushed' their toilet. No problem during the day - but can give you a severe shock when trying to, or are asleep. Needs sorting on the next refit. Read entire member review. |
