We had a balcony room (1026) that was never cool enough to sleep comfortably in. We had reported it but was told the AC was working properly. The other issue was that the room seemed noisy from outside. Two of the nights that we sailed, there were storms that could be heard on the inside. The wind just absolutely howled. Since this was our first balcony room, we had nothing to compare the experience to.

Freedom at last! by jimnjdy
Larger than other cruise lines, private, comfortable beds, tons of storage space, awesome shower with adjustable shower heads!  Read entire member review.
good overall size, nice balcony, comfortable beds (even bunk and couch), good size bathroom, plenty of storage, only 1 electrical outlet  Read entire member review.
We stayed in cabin 6312. It was a balcony room that was fine. However, it is located above the Casino and you could hear the slot mchines each night when you went to bed. Not real loud, but you could hear them.  Read entire member review.
Nice size room, lots of storage space, nice size bathroom, quiet location, ok balcony (problem with smoking next to us)  Read entire member review.
6340 was great and the location near the midship elevators is just perfect  Read entire member review.

Noisy room by Thirdcruise
Cabin - This was my biggest complaint. The first day at sea I went under the bed to get something and found the previous tenants sneakers under the bed, makes me wonder how well the room was turned over. Also first day the air conditioning did not work but maintenance quickly fixed it. Cabin steward was sociable and did an over all good job. But the biggest issue was the NOISE because the cabin was directly above the casino bar. Could not take an afternoon nap or go to bed before 12:30/1 because of it, especially if Danny was playing (BTW he is not that good, I had a week of listening to him over and over). This impacted three of our four cabins. They could not change our cabins because the cruise was full. Carnival did compensate us for the noise and such, and while appreciated, would rather of had a quiet cabin. Wish they would tell this to people when booking these rooms.  Read entire member review.
Best Cruise Ever by mosaic_mom
Cabin 6390 - Plenty of closet space, amazing balcony with 2 comfortable chairs and a table, no cabin across the hallway, fantastic and amazing view, on the port side of the ship and perfect to see the ports when the ship docks, plenty of space in cabin for my walker. No noise from inside the ship, but someone on the deck above us had issues with slamming the balcony door quite often.  Read entire member review.
cabin 6406 is above the aft end of the dance club and you did hear a little of the bass thumping late at night. Unless you need dead quiet to sleep it's no problem. The balcony is now a requirement on all future cruises. It is so nice to sit out and watch the sun set while enjoying a cigar and a cocktail before dinner and we even slept w/ the door open 2 nights just to listen to the waves.
plenty of closet space , hangers and shelf space in the bathroom.
┬áBed was very comfortable and was a welcome sight after some long days and late nights.  Read entire member review.
Cabin 6441, balcony category B8, is located near the aft elevator bank on Upper Deck. The cabin is in a great location, as it is only one deck above the entrance to the Centuries Promenade. Noise was not an issue. The cabin is across from crew cabins behind a closed hallway.  Read entire member review.
Fantastic Time by jeffjgh1

Great room, no noise issues at all. Great room Steward Ari.

Hallway was very noisy as it was across from the room stewards water closets and service areas. Balcony was nice and room was typical size for that category.  Read entire member review.
The cabin was exactly the same as on the last Carnival ship we cruised. Very roomy balcony. Slept 4 without problem. Plenty of storage space. Need to bring a power strip as there is only one outlet in the room. Nice amenity basket in bathroom. Had worried about bringing a razor from home but the sample supplied was better than the one I brought. Ask the room steward to empty the refrigerator so you can store your own drinks or leftover snacks. This also prevents children from taking expensive food or drinks from it. Lots of room to store luggage under the bed. Bedding and mattress is very comfortable. I've had back surgery and still found it to be very comfortable.  Read entire member review.

Cabin was near rear elevators so always close to dining room deck 3 and Lido buffet deck 9. Typical Carnival balcony cabin.

The cabin is two decks below Lido and is close but not too close to the stairs and elevators - a great location for us. If you have assigned seating in the Posh MDR, you can take a short walk down the stairs and you're there. The buffet and other eateries are only two flights of stairs up. The cabin is comfortable and there is enough storage space on the closet shelves and in the closet itself BUT the closet doors open toward the bathroom door so you have to maneuver around to get stuff out. The shower had great water pressure but we had to put large plastic clothes pins on the bottom of the shower curtain to keep it in the shower area. We had no noise or cigarette smoke problems and there was no heavy elevator traffic.

Disappointing 20th by Reba 954
7439.....great cabin...very large balcony....very quiet ..only complaint, is there is only one chair and no sofa, so if you are a couple, one person ends up sitting on bed.  Read entire member review.
Pros And Cons by tanguera

Balcony a bit small but a nice cabin

 Read entire member review.
Excellent cabin; although, the balcony is so small that you can just barely get a chair on it, and the swing open door makes 2 chairs a real problem to negotiate. But what do want for the price?  Read entire member review.
We stayed in cabin 9263 on the Lido deck. It was near the stairways and elevators but to my surprise it was very quiet. Great balcony view. Just the wife and I were in the room so we had plenty of closet space. Would definitely stay in this same cabin if I cruise on the Freedom again.  Read entire member review.
Rooms are relatively small, which is to be expected, but our room, a balcony room with a king-size bed formed from two singles, plus a single bed formed from a "sofa" (the bolsters were tucked under the king), was snug but adequate for three. Tip: The balcony was worth the money, as it added some very pleasant space and allowed people with different sleep schedules to stay or get up while the rest of the family slept. The balcony is lighted, so people can sit on it to read or talk quietly without bothering someone inside. We had intentionally chosen a hallway with staff areas rather than guests across the hall and at some distance from elevators, but there was still plenty of traffic going by. Nevertheless, we were not bothered by noise either from the hallways or neighboring cabins. The cabins are supplied with shampoo and shower gel and a built-in blow dryer, though our blow dryer didn't have a lot of power. If you have lot of hair, you may want to bring your own blow dryer. The one major deficiency of the room was dearth of electric outlets. There is ONE double outlet, and one of the outlets is a 220 volt for overseas visitors, a nice touch for them, but a problem for Americans. Like most Americans, we packed a variety of electric appliances--e.g., curling iron and straightener--and items that needed to be charged: camera batteries, a laptop, cell phones (not that they functioned most of the time), etc., and keeping everything charged with just one plug was a juggling act. Tip: If you've travelled overseas and have a converter, bring it with you, or--and I'm sure Carnival won't like this advice--a small travel size surge protector to give you more outlets. One rather odd feature of the room is its safe. For reasons that I can't begin to explain, the safe is locked and unlocked by your credit card, which doesn't do you a lot of good if you want to use the safe as a place to PUT your credit cards and such, since after all you don't need to carry cash or credit cards while cruising. So I guess here's a tip: bring along one useless or expired credit card for this purpose. Of course if it's stolen you're still out of luck getting at your valuables in the safe.  Read entire member review.
I stayed in the Aft, 7th floor. The room had a strong vibration from the engines whenever we pulled into port. This could be at 6 am and last upwards of 30 mins-FYI  Read entire member review.
8 Days a BLAST by valvance
We had a great balcony in the forward of the ship, very forward... there was no privacy of the balcony because of location. The noise level was low, quiet neighbors. My fridge never worked the entire cruise, but overall the stateroom was nice.  Read entire member review.
