Pretty Dam Good! by mpricecs
Located towards the stern almost adjacent to the elevators/stairs on the port side. The room was of good size, with plenty of storage and a good size verandah. There was some noise from the Kitchen Galley below us and the Room Stewards store across the hall, but it did not bother us.  Read entire member review.

I had cabin 4176 on the NOORDAM. It is a VA Category "sunset verandah". It is larger than the other VA aft staterooms being just that much wider and 3-4 feet longer with a great view on a over-sized balcony and hearing the heavenly sound of the wake as one cruises foward. There was no audible sounds from the engines and we slept perfectly in peace. My only negative is that there should be some kind of aparatus put on the balcony doors to stop them from slamming. People seem to be egocentric not taking the time to hold their doors while they are closing. At times the continual banging could drive you crazy as you are trying to have an afternoon nap! IF YOU WANT A TABLE FOR TWO ASK FOR TABLE 315!!!  Read entire member review.

Very nice cabin, great location on Veranda deck. Great veranda for evening drinks and plenty of storage for clothes etc. We could even get the wireless internet connection from our cabin.  Read entire member review.

Located near the elevators, which was handy, but not so close that the dinging of elevators was a bother. Cabin has a good verandah with a clear railing and open view out. We enjoyed breakfast on it each morning. Suitcases fit under the bed, lots of other storage in bathroom and stateroom. Safe is too small for large laptop. Decor is fine, bathroom fittings a bit tired but did not bother us. Cabin is perfectly comfortable.

The stateroom was in good order and all facilities were in full working order. A good location close to the front elevators, though the elevator chimes did get a bit annoying, but we're not intrusive. There is a clear view fore and aft from the veranda, it is equipped with two wicker chairs, a footstool and small circular table.

Our stateroom was at the prow of the ship, starboard. It was quite far from the Lido and Vista Dining rooms, being the very last cabin in the corridor. Its position meant we experienced some movement when the sea was moderately rough. It was designed for disabled people, the doors were wider and the cabin was spacious enough for me to drive my scooter right in, around the end of the beds to park it by the veranda doors. There was a supporting pillar by the door, which was easy to negotiate. The bathroom had a shower only, like a wet room, with a stool attached to the wall. This room was in need of refurbishment, as the cover on the stool was split and the shower curtain was needing replaced. My first reaction was disappointment generally, as the decor was very tired looking and quite old fashioned with flowery comforters, patterned carpets and unattractive drapes. Nothing seemed to match, but I soon warmed to the room, as the storage was great, with lots of wardrobe space and two deep drawers under the beds. Our big cases could be stored under the beds too. There was a desk with good lighting and a useful mirror, the television was above, not really suitable for viewing from the beds. There was a couch/sofa bed for extra guests, but it was quite tatty and uncomfortable and frankly, I do not know how two extra people could share the space. The veranda was accessible for a wheelchair, but wasn't very big, with two chairs, a footstool and a tiny table. It was not overlooked from above or next door.We had to wedge the little table in the door to keep it open, this seemed to create a high-pitched whistle when it was windy. One stormy night the whole corridor was as if it was full of howling banshees. The air conditioner was ferocious with two outlets on the ceiling above the bed, pumping cold air.It was impossible to switch off and difficult to regulate. But, the room was scrupulously clean, kept so by our attentive stewards, who were always cheerful and chatty. The bed was comfortable, but the bedding was in need of replacement, the one blanket was thin and was not warm enough to counteract the power of the AC. The towels, similarly were greyish white and quite hard, though they were replaced twice a day.

Good location in that it is away from noisy public areas, but it is across from crew service space, and crew area doors are active early. Near forward elevator. Poor layout in room, in that the desk is jammed in a corner with TV/DVD player, outlets, mirror. Closet space is ok, but not abundant. Space below bed includes drawers. With care, the space can be used well. Can't hear most announcements in cabin. That is good for avoiding hearing the annoying Cruise Director but a problem for important stuff. It is broadcast on TV, but we seldom watched the TV. Bath has tub. Beds are just barely ok. Drop down bed is too close (too low) to other bed. Tight fit in room with sofabed and drop down bed. Chair has to be moved, then it blocks the cabin door or it blocks the path from bed to bath. Air conditioning is ok but fan can't be stopped. Balcony is ok, with good view and reasonable privacy. View from balcony is not obstructed. Balcony door has privacy glass. Smokers next door limited our use. Crew comes through balconies in port, so be sure to lock the balcony door!  Read entire member review.

Cabin 6039 was near the forward bank of elevators, but it wasn't noisy or a bad location. However, note that Vista dining room is far aft, the cabin is far forward. This makes for alot of walking from one end of the ship to the other, every time you want to go to the dining room. Note the balcony in this cabin: has the 1/2 glass partition looking out at sea, so when you are sitting down on the balcony, you can see through the glass. Some other balconies have a wood or other type partition that you can't see through.  Read entire member review.

Solo traveler so plenty of room. Good location for dining, long walks for other ship venues. Lovely veranda. Behind aft elevators but no noise. Very comfortable beds. I used the space inside the round desk chair to store the larger bottles from the fridge. That made room in the fridge for my wine and some snacks from the Lido. The lighting at the desk was not very good for drying hair - one vertical light to one side facing me and the rest behind me - but the outlet in the bathroom couldn't run the hair dryer so I made the best of it. I figured out how to work the DVD player (they should have provided instructions though). We had the door opened between our verandas and it made a nice long "porch".  Read entire member review.

DAM fine cruise by FlyfisherUK
6171 aft location, nice and quiet . Decent size but only shower no bath. Cabin size is decent, plenty of clothes hanging and storage space. Good bed and very comfy . Nice robes but no slippers , which is a bit penny pinching. Good soap ,gels etc and towels changed daily by excellent cabin stewards. Aircon fairly quiet, although bed could perhaps have done with a lightweight duvet. Balcony had 2 chairs , footstool and small table, glass/perspex screens and overhang did not restrict sun too much . Cabin location gives decent access to pool/lido . Being on deck 6 you get great views .  Read entire member review.

Great Room, spacious, one of the largest bathrooms we've had on a cruise, has a tub, which is something you don't see often.
The balcony is approx. 10x12. asked for 2 lounge chairs had them within 15 minutes.
Room Stewart was excellent.
No real drawbacks except the balcony door can get a bit heavy, they open on hinges.

20+ day Mediterranean cruise by Mary from Hawaii
We had a stateroom on 7 97140) at the end of the ship. We had a larger verandah than rooms on the sides. The room was a tiny bit larger, but not that much. Sitting and watching the wake was restful and we always had beautiful views of the ports as we left. It was 2 decks right below the buffet and 4 decks just above the Vista Dinning Room...very convenient. We did have some fall out from the pool deck a couple of times but it was more of a laugh than a problem. We usually backed into port so we had the best view and if we did not, we could see both sides being on the end. I am sold on rooms in that area!  Read entire member review.
8013
Our balcony cabin, 8013 was of sufficient size and offered ample closet and dresser space. The first day my wife noticed a sharp piece of metal protruding from under the bottom corner of our cabin door. This was the corner of the door that would first come in contact with your toe when opening it. Our cabin steward kicked the "knife" back under the door and while we doubt that it was a permanent fix it was never to be seen by us again. As always, the balcony was the most relaxing refuge aboard ship. We don't know if it is normal on this ship but we'd run from the bathroom upon flushing. The suction of the toilet resulted in an ear piercing POP! We aren't quite sure if the bed was as comfortable as it seemed or if we were simply exhausted from the seemingly many miles that we had to hike. It seemed every destination was all of the way aft. Stateroom 13 indicates how close it is to the front of the ship. FYI The ship's office, the excursion desk, dining room, theater, and adult only pool are all at the very rear of the ship. Aside from the children's area, and a couple curiously placed bars, we cannot think of much else, other than the ship's bridge, that was in the vicinity of our cabin. If you stayed at a resort you would not want for every destination to be a block or more away. As mentioned previously, always reserve a cabin at mid-ship. You'll notice, what's more, the majority of suites are also in the middle.  Read entire member review.

Room was spacious with a king size bed and full sofa. Bathrooms included a bath tub and a separate shower. Patio was quit large with a table and chairs and two separate lounge chairs. We were on the starboard size mid-ship. We were close to the elevators and stair way. Noise was not a problem.  Read entire member review.

Tiny rooms with poor layout compared to the Norwegian cruise line for similar room category. Few drawers. Mismatched balcony furniture. Beds face rear of ship versus front of ship a bad choice during rough high seas. Poor lighting in the bathroom and room.  Read entire member review.

Pack Your Patience by Annalise
Our windowed cabin was extremly tiny with very little storage. We were on deck 1 which experienced very little rocking. The location was very quiet & we were not far from Vista dining room above us. We had two twin beds pushed together, a small desk, a mini fridge, a small sofa and three single door closets. The two nightstand drawers were extremely hard to open. The shower had good water pressure & easy to control temperature. Since we did not spend a lot of time there, it was okay, however, next time I would definately opt for a larger room.  Read entire member review.
