I had cabin 4176 on the NOORDAM. It is a VA Category "sunset verandah". It is larger than the other VA aft staterooms being just that much wider and 3-4 feet longer with a great view on a over-sized balcony and hearing the heavenly sound of the wake as one cruises foward. There was no audible sounds from the engines and we slept perfectly in peace. My only negative is that there should be some kind of aparatus put on the balcony doors to stop them from slamming. People seem to be egocentric not taking the time to hold their doors while they are closing. At times the continual banging could drive you crazy as you are trying to have an afternoon nap! Great location as far as access to the main dining room(elevator straight down to deck 2) and the Lido dining(2 stories up the stairs). Located just aft of the first verandah suite, it was more midship than aft. The only negative was that there was two maintenance closets across the hall. One of them was the ice machine and the steward started loading up his ice for the cabins between 6 and 6:30 in the morning. My husband never heard him and I did go back to sleep, so it wasn't a huge problem, but I think if I mentioned it to him, he would have delayed that job for awhile. Standard verandah room with plenty of closet space. Three closets. One with shelves and two with room for hanging clothes. The hanging closets had shelves that were folded down, but could be brought up for placing items on. Bathroom as shelf under the sink and a medicine cabinet. Although the cabin is close to the elevators, this was a plus. We were expecting to hear the noise from the elevators at all hours, but we heard nothing!! The closets are small, but adequate, and the balcony was very nice.  Read entire member review.

We had a stateroom on 7 97140) at the end of the ship. We had a larger verandah than rooms on the sides. The room was a tiny bit larger, but not that much. Sitting and watching the wake was restful and we always had beautiful views of the ports as we left. It was 2 decks right below the buffet and 4 decks just above the Vista Dinning Room...very convenient. We did have some fall out from the pool deck a couple of times but it was more of a laugh than a problem. We usually backed into port so we had the best view and if we did not, we could see both sides being on the end. I am sold on rooms in that area!  Read entire member review.

This room is located in the front of the ship. It was great being only 1 floor down from the Lido but was quite the journey to the dining room. The room is located directly below the spa and we would ocassionally hear noise from it. We also would occassionally hear the elevator ding as it arrived or dropped off cruisers. Our location was great, with the Spa above us. Overall the room was smaller than Carnival, another foot in width would allow for a different configuration of the furniture so you wouldn't be bumping into things. The cabin measured 10 by 20 cabin and bath were in need of upgrade extensive stains on carpeting toilet seat was worn and looked like extensive wear. THis is a VA category cabin, but it doesn't warrant this category as the noise from the Lido Deck outside seating area is VERY intrusive from 5.30am until well after the midnight buffet. Chairs and tables are scraped across the floor above and it sounds as if they are coming through the ceiling disturbing sleep late at night and first thing in the morning. Smoking in adjacent cabins was a BIG problem the corridor outside reeked and we couldn't sit on our verandah because of the smell.  Read entire member review.

Perfect room except: access to the closets! Inadequate lighting combined with a very narrow hallway, and doors that open towards each other make access for even a slight person almost impossible. What do the 300 pounders do? Location top deck back of ship = longer balcony, great proximity to pool and lido, and top deck for sunning and reading. Potential negatives would be noice from setting deck chairs in the morning for late sleepers. Would book this room again for sure!  Read entire member review.
