Cabin 2-446-outside, with obstructed view. As we paid for an inside cabin, we were thrilled to get an upgraded cabin with a window. It had an obstructed view-there was a platform outside the cabin that was used for servicing the outside of the ship while on port, but hey, as 90% of the window was not obstructed, it was great. Plenty of room, but the lighting could have been better-no reading lights for us in bed for example. All-in-all, very, very happy with the cabin. You should note that is only one electrical outlet-fortunately, we brought a Belkin combo outlet extender (which gave us 3 outlets) plus a 2-port USB charger, which we used to keep our cell phones, cameras, and iPods charged. Just make sure you have the right cables packed. Read entire member review.
It was a great room, I enjoyed the extra floor space. There was some ship noise and more motion (up an down) than I have experienced before, but tolerable. The semi-private deck around the corner/out the window was a nice bonus! Read entire member review.
These rooms are billed as interior, but have windows that look out onto decks that are pretty much private. The only people I saw on our deck were our other neighbors, so it was very nice. This was our first cruise not in a balcony and not in the center of the ship. Other than really feeling the water, I would recommend this room highly. Read entire member review.
Cabin – Our cabin was on deck 7 (Empress), # 7202 which is sold as an inside cabin all the way forward with a large window that overlooks a public observation deck (obstructed view)…that almost no one knows is there (the fabled “secret” forward decks). These rooms are great because they are quiet and if you enjoy feeling some ocean motion to help remind you that you are on a ship – these are the cabins for you. Yes, it’s a bit of a walk to the dining room in the aft section, but hey; after consuming a few Guy’s burgers, you can use the extra walking, right? The only downside is that this particular room is right across the hall from the crew cleaning closet so on a few mornings, we could hear the stewards opening and closing that door. Not a big deal though. Our cabin steward was wonderful. He kept our room cleaned and even let me keep every towel animal so I could take a group photo on the last night. Tip – bring some large suction cup hooks with you. You can hang up more clothes inside/outside of the closets or on the walls of the bathroom.
4j category is cheapest room with a window!!!It was quiet but a bit rocky one night..Good value if you want a window and upper deck..My only complaint is that the room smelled of smoke.. The size of the room was great w/ lots of storage.. Read entire member review.
