Nothing tainted my opinion of this cruise more than the dilapidated state of our room. To say it was comparable to a one star Motel is gratuitous. From the broken light switches, cracked hinges, uneven cabinets, cracked light fixtures, dirty sofa, rust stains, sewage smell, dirty mirrors, and eighty's motif it couldn't have been worse. But it was. Our A/C did not work until day four. Our shower never worked right. We constantly worked it to keep the water warm. The front desk staff was appalling apathetic to our concerns and we had to call every day for help. We heard other passengers complain of flooding and sewage smell also. We were terribly dissapointed with our room service. This ship needs to be mothballed because there are too many problems to fix. In the end we were offered a cabin upgrade. This should have been given to us the day we reported these problems. We will never cruise Holland America again!   Read entire member review.
