Oceanview Double with Balcony (BC)

Cabin Rating

A228 -- This is the standard balcony cabin with the outside area taken from space that would be included in the standard ocean-view layout. The balcony is covered and less than 30 square feet, with two low chairs and a small table. The balcony door is heavy and robust.

This cabin on Aloha Deck (12) is one flight of stairs below Lido Deck. Because it's near the bow, getting to eating areas means lots of walking, though access to the Princess Theater is easy. With the door closed, you'll hear PA announcements but won't be able to pick out the words. No laundromats or other noise-makers nearby.

A701 - Could be noisy at times. Noise from chairs being moved around could be heard throughout the day or night. Convenient to be only 1 deck below the Horizon Court.  Read entire member review.

The stateroom was roomy and clean with adequate storage.

A751 - AFT cabin: Jerry, our steward, was supper nice and explained the room. The bathroom is tiny. The closet spans the entire length of the bed wall  huge! Hidden shelves behind a full length mirror with a large safe. Phone, hair dryer on the desk. We had aft room A751 and A749 so he put the divider down between the room on the balcony. Deck chairs were very uncomfortable. They were either too far back or straight up and down for weird back support. We explored the ship. Very clean, and every crew member was friendly. Especially the first day they would ask if they could assist us we must have looked lost.

The luggage arrived while we were at the muster drill. Jerry also put egg cartons on our beds, re-making them for us and left two chocolates on the pillows. We unpacked in about one hour with plenty of hangars in the closet, shelves and drawers. We found there was enough shelves and counter space in the bathroom. We brought anti-slip material for the table tops and counters. We also brought two extension cords to be able to charge phones and camera batteries. One by the TV and one on the desk to run an alarm clock.

At first glance the stateroom very small. Again, first cruise, comparing it to hotel rooms. After a week it didnt seem so small and we were not in the room that much.

Loved the AFT views from our own private balcony. We didnt have to stand elbow to elbow with strangers on the deck. We could see from side to side as well as behind when looking for whales. There was never a breeze to cool you (in Alaska a good thing), we were protected from the cold air as the boat moved. We saw both sides of the channel and cruising North the moon glow (looking South) over the water at night was beautiful.

The toilet is an air pressure system. It sucks everything down the drain. We never found the stateroom or bathroom smelly. We feel they could have made the shower a little bigger and the shower curtain a couple inches wider. We did bring clips to weigh down the bottom of the shower curtain and it stayed in the stall better Water pressure was good as well as temperature setting with the lower nozzle.

The refrigerator in the cabinet with the door attached makes it hard for the unit to cool itself. There is no circulation of cooler air or holes for the heat to escape from inside the cabinet.

We brought two extension cords. One was very helpful as we used it to plug in a cell phone we used as an alarm clock. One on the desk and one behind the TV for charging batteries.

If I cruise again, I would get a min-suite. There would then be more room to sit inside. It also looks like they have nicer lounge chairs outside. I did like the AFT balcony views. When leaving a port, the bays or fjords we had a personalized view of the scene. We didnt have to stand shoulder to shoulder on the cold decks to see the view. If it is rainy you also have that protection to see the view.

Great Cruise by rfinn5
Great cabin qith plenty of room. The bathroom has limited shelf space. Princess told us the beds could not be placed in queen configuration but we found out on the last day that they were moved for the next occupants.  Read entire member review.
B312 was a great location, not far from the mid or forward elevators.  Read entire member review.
Our cabin, which was Baja 427, was immediately inside the hallway after exiting the elevators. We were concerned it would be noisy, particularly on this New Years cruise. It was a wonderful and surprisingly quiet balcony location. Cabin was typical Princess size.  Read entire member review.
Room B437 was near the elevators, but we never heard any noise. Great midship location.  Read entire member review.

Fun in Asia by valpeter

Our cabin was always other passenger or engine noise. It was a long way from the dining room but we got in lots of incidental exercise. The pillows were wide and very comfortable as was the mattress. I was pleased that we could adjust the temperature ourselves and having a balcony was superb and would never ever have an inside cabin!

Great cabin with an extra large balcony.

Our cabin was C504. We could not believe how quiet it was. The temperature was very comfortable and we could adjust it within the cabin. There was more than enough drawers, shelves, closet space and hangers and under the bed shortage which was fantastic. The shower was small but manageable. The bath had shelves to store our toiletries which was nice. The ship was so smooth sailing, nothing ever fell off shelves. We thought we had a queen size bed but it was more like a king. Mattress was firm but comfortable. Can't say enough good things about the cabin.  Read entire member review.
Caribe deck cabins 515, 519, and 523. Get these. They're in the middle of the ship on the starboard side. Comfortable, quiet, and adjoining balconies.  Read entire member review.

Cabin with balcony very good. (Please note that ‘Staterooms’ are reserved for royalty and heads of state), good size TV with video on demand (although not specified anywhere!)

We almost always take a balcony cabin, a few times we have taken various suites, but I don't think they offer you that much more for additional cost. A balcony is nice to have, we seem to use it more than others who have balcony cabins near us. There have been times when others on baconies near by were so loud that they kind of spoiled the cruising atmosphere, but not on this cruise. Now that Princess doesn't allow smoking on the balcony, I enjoy the balcony much more than before.  Read entire member review.
Adequate storage space - especially since your luggage can go under the bed. Balcony was fine for 2+ child, but would be cramped otherwise. Cabin was very close to elevators, but not too noisy.  Read entire member review.

a749 a little rocky at times in rough seas, great cabin with terrific views  Read entire member review.
Our balcony cabin on deck 11 Baja # 528 Plenty big enough for 3 people. Four is pushing it as it was only apx. 180 sq. ft. 9 'X 20' Railing (wood) was in dire straits for sanding & varnishing the rest of the room was pretty nice, flat screen TV etc. We had a shower not drain and 1 toilet clog but they were quick to repair. Never heard our neighbors, quiet room despite loud toilet flushes. We were close to stairs and elevator mid-ship convienient.  Read entire member review.
Very large balcony, at least twice the size of the balconies of more modern ships. Very large easy to reach closet. Great storage space overall. No Couch, but nice dressing table with hair dryer mounted above the table, not taking up valuable drawer space. Small, old-style, uncomfortable shower.  Read entire member review.
