Mid-Ship Balcony Cabins 161 Reviews
These mid-ship staterooms can accommodate up to three guests, with two lower beds that convert into a queen-size bed and a convertible sofa in some to sleep one more. They also include a sitting area and floor-to-ceiling glass doors that open to a private balcony. Because these are mid-ship staterooms, you'll have easy access to everything on board.

Best Cruise Ever!!! by Chrissie Hall

Our cabin was close to the stairs and lifts ,and we enjoyed easy access to the best of everything . We were very comfortable in our warm cosy cabin , there was minimal noise , a super layout , and perfectly situated near the top of the ship, and close to the middle making for a top of the world experience , with minimal motion from the ship.

Across from crew space, but still quiet.  Read entire member review.

Very small room (the ship was built for the Asian market), chipped tiles and mildew in the bathroom, dirt in the shower stall tracks and balcony door tracks, sticky and dirty floor/carpet on the balcony (we rarely went out there even though we paid more for it), leaking sink in the bathroom, too little storage space in the bathroom, holes and stains on some of the linens/towels. :(  Read entire member review.

Our cabin was fine. It was what we expected. Balcony was great. It's a ship not a hotel. Space is always limited.  Read entire member review.

CABIN: We went back to 10106 to get organized and set up our 'communication central' door. We posted our group's itinerary, a blank notepad, a pencil on a string (I actually brought a BUNCH of pencils figuring they would disappear but it never did LOL!), a "I am DEFINITELY doing such and such" form. We also posted highlighted dailies later in the cruise and other pertinent info. It worked out great. The cabin itself was great. Absolutely immaculate. Crisp yummy sheets and a 'white-white' coverlet on the bed. Mmmmm, the sheets smelled so good, too. The little desk and chair was very handy (with the 'fridge under it). There were a few drawers and shelves and the closet was quite large, I thought. I loved the bathroom set-up. The sliding shower doors were great and the sliding door to conceal the toilet. was a great touch. The showers were hot and powerful (quite a surprise). The flush of the toilet was a bit loud but, well, that was just AOK with us (better safe than sorry!). We hung our shoe organizer thing (would NEVER cruise without one - Thanks, CruiseCritic). There was also a little couch but that was kind of my 'bureau' so we didn't sit on that much. The flexible suitcases fit perfectly under the bed. The pillows were scrumptious and varied. Some a bit more fluffy, some a bit firmer. PERFECT! I had to leave my own pillow, that I ALWAYS travel with at home because of suitcase space issues and was thrilled at the pillow situation (small pleasures LOL). Our balcony was just wonderful. Two canvas-slung-type chairs and a little table. When we had company (which was quite a bit) there was some lap sitting and straddling of the sliding glass doors with the desk chair. We loved the balcony. As a matter of fact, in retrospect I fear we spent way too much time there. Though we loved it we missed some fun stuff (Sexy Legs Contest on the last sea day for example) topside. Oh well, can't have it all! I didn't watch even a second of TV but did have the music station on quite a bit - a good mix of tunes... There were plenty of mirrors and some lovely artwork. The slider drapes shut all the way and really darkened the cabin. It was a great cabin (I miss it LOL!).  Read entire member review.

WE had 2 balcony cabins and t6his was great as they were connecting rooms and it was nice to have 2 full bathrooms and two decks and large rooms. Overall our cabin was always kept clean and the cabin steward did a great job and we were on the tenth floor and the views of the ocean were great espaecially on our return trip home as the caption informed of the whales and the ship had to slow down and we saw many whales. I recommend a balcony cabin as it was great having the balcony open and hearing the ocean and the smell of the sea air. The balcony was alittle small but it was comfortable and clean.  Read entire member review.

unbelievable small balcony cabin 10108, noisy, dirty, shabby ,worn. The bed was horrible and the worst bed I have ever slept on in my entire life.  Read entire member review.
10136
Ample room in the room and deck...bath room small but sufficient. Plenty of closet space. Mattresses might need to be replaced...needed a egg topper and better pillows. Room service on time every time. Room steward went above and beyond. Will never cruise without a balcony! Love sitting there with my coffee and breakfast and watching the world go bye!  Read entire member review.

Big enough for 2 people. Would have been tight if we had a 3rd guest. Could not get room cool. Even on max cooling the coolest was 70 degrees. The tv is very tiny, not much of a channel selection. Don't know why the advertise it as a queen bed when it was just to twin beds pushed together. Very noisy, almost no sound proofing. I have trouble hearing and still heard way too much.  Read entire member review.
10556
Adjoining Staterooms 10556 and 10552 (no 10554): small, no refrigerators, ice bucket does not hold ice for more than a few hours so bring a cooler of your own if you can. Sewage smell was horrible in bathroom area. It has adjoining door for family visiting. Door hard to open because bed hits it. Remotes worn out on TV's in both rooms. Balconies do not join up with removable partitions. Balconies so small only sit up chairs and 8 X 8 table between. Unobstructed views from both balconies.  Read entire member review.

Cabin 10570...smaller than other cruise ships...hair dryer is not really a hair dryer...TV small with no US channels while cruising the Mediterranean..2 US outlets but only for under 500 watts.  Read entire member review.

Balcony BA Category, 10576 -- mid-ship Wonderful location, equidistant to the forward and mid-ship elevators, with no public areas above or below, and very limited hallway traffic.  Read entire member review.

Great location, not bad for hubby's first time sailing. Balcony is a must have! Did our laundry and air dried it with hangers! Great view to enjoy, watching the sail away and viewing sunsets. Close to the elevator! Closet size was standard but was able to fit our 2 large suitcases. I requested a fridge in the cabin, and they were accommodating with that. Bathroom size is adequate. Queen size bed is comfy with lots of pillows! Had restful sleeps, and only had one rough day at sea.. Sea sick pills were widely available. Walls were somewhat thin, hearing conversations from the neighbor (or possibly something else).  Read entire member review.

We were in cabin 10606. It was not even close to what we saw in the NCL brochure. The sink was chipped....walls had dents and the glass on the outer balcony was dirty and grimy. We asked for softer pillows but were told they were only available in the suites. Amazing!  Read entire member review.

Very comfy! by arby70
Our cabin #10628 was fairly roomy for the 2 of us. The closet and storage area was quite adequate and our big suitcases fit under the bed. The balcony was of good size. We loved the coffee pot in the room. No fridge, but our room stewards kept us in ice. The bed was very comfy. TV was a bit small but adequate and we liked to check out the info channel as to where the ship was, water temps and depth, etc. The bathroom was fairly roomy and the shower was a good size with a glass door rather than a flimsy plastic curtain. Water stayed in the shower and didn't get all over the floor. Only 1 outlet in the cabin itself, but we brought an extension cord. We found our cabin to be quite soothing, and it was extremely quiet. We spent quite a bit of time in our cabin so it was important to us and having the balcony was a real treat.  Read entire member review.

Great Cruise by Witling
The cabin was tidy but functional. The room and bathroom were quiet. The balcony is only about 1 meter wide but still nice. The coffee maker, safe and flat screen TV were all nice touches. There should be a sign explaining that the in room water is $4.50 per bottle.  Read entire member review.

Not sure if it was sewer smell (common on all ships) or just a nasty fart I was getting a whiff of in the morning. Very interesting laid out bath. I did enjoy this cabin. Close to the pool.  Read entire member review.
11050
NCL Spirit Balcony 11050: Adequate closet, the only table is covered up with a coffee maker, there is no refrigerator or mini bar. As all ships, the cabin had limited outlets, understandable if you research what electricity does to ships. The balcony light worked, of 8 cruises this is only the second outside light which worked! Bath arrangement was small toilet separated from sink by sliding glass door separated from show by same type glass door. Liked the arrangement. Beds were quite comfy. Lighting was adequate and convenient. TV location made controlling with remote difficult but did not spend much time watching TV.  Read entire member review.
11050
Great balcony (very quiet, no noise from surrounding public areas), well placed in the middle of the ship and top level in between the forward and middeck stairways, tile in bathroom does have some mildew around edges but hardly noticable. Southbound, lots of setting sun in the room heated up balcony quite a bit, but of course, it was perfect and shady for the return trip.  Read entire member review.

We had a balcony cabin on deck 11 which was very spacious, with adequate hanging and drawer space. The bathroom benefited from a door attached to both the toilet and shower which could be separated from the sink area. The balcony, although small was ample. The only drawback was that there was an overhanging area from the deck above which tended to block out some of the sun at certain times of the day. The hallway was always kept clear and there was no noise.  Read entire member review.

Great balcony with sliding door. Quiet location (pool area overhead - sometimes heard sliding of chairs from above). Musky Bathroom but lots of room with sliding doors for shower and toilet. Great room overall.  Read entire member review.

NCL Nearly Ruined Our Vacation by matthewthompson87
11070 - great location, but lots of noise from the deck above--pool chairs in the morning, thumping from running guests at night. Convenience trumps the noise in our opinion though. (Mold/mildew in the showers may be common on this ship too?)  Read entire member review.

11078 - I think. Our room was so nice. The balcony was a plus. I thought the bathroom, though small was well laid out. The bed was super comfy and we slept great. Minor noise from the chairs above being moved across the deck. In te future we'd want the same room.  Read entire member review.

Wonderful Spirit Cruise by coldinkansas
We had a balcony room and was very satisfied with it. It seemed a little dated and maybe could use a little cosmetic touch ups but overall we thought it was fine. The balcony had a little rust showing but nothing that a little TLC wouldn't take care of. Plenty of closet space and all of our luggage fit nicely under the bed. We could hear a little noise in the early AM from upstairs but nothing that bothered either of us.  Read entire member review.

Small cabin and balcony only had room for two chairs and a very small table, think lamp table. No refrigerator and that was a disapointment. Under the buffet, very rarely had any noise from above, and even then, it was minimal.  Read entire member review.

Quiet and conveniently located. Plenty of clothing storage but a hanging organizer was helpful as there was no place for things like cameras, books, etc. as half the desk top is taken up by the coffee pot.  Read entire member review.

Canada in October by Daltonian
Cabin 11538. Good storage, closet and under bed. Typical bathroom, crowded in need of maintenance (Shower cable coming apart, intermittent water service). Balcony is tiny, room for two chairs and tiny table (one coffee cup, not two). Cabin is directly below the treadmills in the fitness center with predictable throbbing noise. Select a cabin a little forward or aft of this one and still be close to the forward elevators.  Read entire member review.

We were in Cabins 11556 and 11558 and they were directly under the gym that was open from 6am to 11pm. There was ALWAYS noise. Loud bags with free weights being dropped on the deck about. There are about 8 cabins that are under this gym and should be avoided. I would suggest that you check the deck plan of any cabin you book to see what is above you. It was my own fault that I did not do this before confirming cabin. It won't happen again !  Read entire member review.

7 Day Boston to Quebec City by AgouraTraveler
11590, nice size for 2. Bathroom nice size, but musty-smelling entire week, with mildew on tile outside shower and under sink. Bathroom needs renovation. Excellent lighting in cabin with overhead lights and 2 reading lights. Also, great A/C control so one can precisely adjust temperature. Needs another 110 volt receptacle and a refrigerator. Safe in nice size closet. Balcony good for 2. Cannot hear shipboard announcements coming from speakers outside cabin in hallway. Being a Fall cruise, too cold for pool use on deck 12 above, only heard minimal banging of furniture topside at times. Music noise from above only heard a little, but this would be a problem on a Caribbean trip.  Read entire member review.

Honeymoon in the Med. by stagetek23
Stateroom 11592 review I felt the room was very nice...we had a balcony and it was well worth it. Though on deck 11 you do hear all of the kids running up on the pool deck sometimes. Our bathroom was larger than I thought. Though the tile in the shower really needed a deep clean and more attention needs to be taken behind the door to the shower there was mold growing in the grout and on the handle  Read entire member review.

Worst Cruise Ever by I Love 2 Cruise
11612

Pleasant cabin, really firm bed (husband found it to hard), huge closet, nice seperate shower area, hair dryer, side table. I don't think the desk is a requirement would be more space without it...AND what's with the 1980's tiny portable TV - it is rather pathetic....
We are not known to be easy too please...but we thought it doesn't get much better then this!
We loved it. The balcony was a joy. What more could you want?

The balcony was small but sufficient. The bathroom was larger than any I have ever had on a cruise ship. The beds were comfortable. We had a nice size couch and sitting area. The location in the ship was excellent. The only downside was the smell of smoke in the hallway. We had several smokers around us, and the smell came pouring out of their cabins into the hallway. I think that cruise ship cabins should be non-smoking!  Read entire member review.

The cabin was a bit cramped and the bed a bit hard. But the bathroom was amongst the biggest we've ever had. You could even turn around in the rectangular shower! All in all, we were comfortable and the mid-ship location helped during our rocky sea day.
