Good trip for first timer by Ferryman'swife

We choose a mini suite for a bit of luxury. The extra space wasn't huge but made the cabin seem much larger. When we had friends over it made it very comfy and when we had breakfast in the cabin, it was great (we used the balcony too.)
The balcony on Dolphin deck cabins are not covered so are overlooked by all cabins above and during light rain, they get wet, but so do the upper cabins if the wind is from that side. On the plus side, we could see over the side, straight down and watch all the tenders, pilot boats etc coming and going. The lifeboats are tucked in and don't spoil the view. We also got a bath but we didn't use it. 2 TV sets, one for the bed and one for the settee which is useful. You can see lots of passenger videos of many cabin types on You Tube.

Two days before we began our trip we learned from our travel agent that Princess was upgrading us from our usual balcony cabin to a mini suite so that was a great surprise. We enjoyed having the additional space and I loved having a bathtub (not just the typical small shower). We also had the extra large balcony. We thought the remodeled decor was very nicely appointed, which included an update to flat screen TV's, etc.  Read entire member review.

Comfortable mini-suite. Great location right near the main lifts. (Noise was not a problem.) Cabin looks worn, which hopefully will be addressed when the ship goes in for refurbishing in 2013. Advantageous on this particular cruise to be Starboard since there was not much to see port-side in the container shipyards but the activity in the ports was fun to watch. In Busan and Nagasaki the starboard side was actually port-side so great for watching the dancing and entertainment from the balcony. There was some problem with the air-conditioning when we were in the hot southern locations, and once the weather cooled down, we were more comfortable sleeping with the balcony door open at night.  Read entire member review.

Shower too short for anyone over 6' tall. Nice sized balcony. Lots of storage space.  Read entire member review.

The mini suite on the Dolphin deck was fine. It had extra room for sitting, a second television alongside a more than adequate balcony. It comes w/a tub which if you like one is fine. I would have been satisfied w/a bigger shower. But overall, no complaints about the room or the service which Princess has taken up a step and w/my compliments.  Read entire member review.

Lovely cabin, very clean and tidy. The only negative is that you could feel the engine vibration in the bed which took a little getting used to.  Read entire member review.

Lot of room in the mini suites but they are all located on the dolphin deck, jutting out below all other balcony rooms. Therefore there is no privacy from decks above and no protection from rain showers.  Read entire member review.
