Hello HAL by mevicar
Nice. Quiet. No hall traffic. Didn't like that my balcony stuck out a foot or two from the rooms above me. I was on deck 4. Others could look down if we were at the railing. Somebodies swimsuit fell and landed on my balcony and so did two bottle tops. Not the ship's fault. Most of the time no one was above us the same time we were. And if we were sitting it was no problem at all - although you are told - this room has a metal wall not Plexiglas. So if you are sitting you have to look over the railing.  Read entire member review.
We had room 4015 a quad Verandah (VF category) - Balcony was great except being larger than the ones above we sometimes got things spilled onto our deck from above. We were over the showroom so sometimes could get noisy at night from the show, but it died down by 11PM. Lots of space in closets, drawers and drawers under the bed. We were in a quad and it was weird to have a bed pulled down over our heads the first few night but you get used to it. Great service from our room stewards.  Read entire member review.
First HAL Cruise by krayzee8
Cabin was great. On the Upper Promenade deck with a balcony. The balcony rail wall was steel on the Upper Promenade deck, but decks above had glass. The steel worked out, but would have been nice to have glass with a 4 year old along. The room could pick up a bit of the show music at night, but not bad.  Read entire member review.
4022 had a disappointing, concrete verandah and you couldn't see anything sitting down so it was nauseating.  Read entire member review.
Our incredibly quiet room (4032) was ready at around 1:30. (Our room picked up all the evening entertainment music but was otherwise dead quiet.) The room was a fairly standard size, also had a balcony (which was about three feet deeper than the verandas above). Unfortunately there appeared to be almost no drawer space. Four days into the voyage, we found two more good sized drawers, under the sofa! Too little, too late (for this cruise) but if you get a similar room, have a look. There were the basic three closets (adjustable shelving/hanger rod), two small bed size tables and a tiny storage area beside the mini bar. By the way, our shower was fantastic! The adjustable head was high enough for my six foot height. The pressure would make most hotels and new homes jealous. There was bottled water above the mini bar. However, no price list existed (so, was it free?). We called and had a price list delivered (it wasn't free). We met our room steward. He was a nice young man who had been on the ship about three months. I asked him if we could get some ice and in no time at all he was at the door with an ice bucket full (but no tongs). Later that evening, we called several times to have more ice delivered. It finally came after an hour and a half. Our room was cleaned up, when we had gone for dinner but there were still used glasses on the desk and garbage in the room basket. The next morning it was about five hours before the room was made up. We found that leaving the "Service" card in the lock expedited things. Also, the toilet started being temperamental. It, for most attempts, would not flush. We reported this but for the rest of the cruise, it was still acting up.  Read entire member review.
Nice veranda with comfy furniture, quiet location, adequate storage, comfy bed. Cabin location handy to forward elevator and only one flight of steps down to Lifeboat deck (for drill). Being lower on ship minimized ship motion. Refrigerator barely worked, bed reading lights the worst we've ever had, minimal desk space. Bathtub just got in the way. Much too small to use.  Read entire member review.

Cabin for 4 with balcony, good for 2, but when the bed and bunk are down, it is good for nothing. No room to move, no access to the balcony, hard to get to the bathroom, simply - not good for 4. Poor quality air, lighting. Balcony - better that the cabin, Should set a bed there for fresh air. Have been on other cruises with much better accommodations.  Read entire member review.
2 Week Senior Special?? by Crownline270
Room #5003 ms Oosterdam....... All the way forward on the Veranda deck. First forward balcony room on the starboard side of the ship. Windy all the time, flooded balcony most of the time??? View of water forward of hull washing out, kinda fun to watch the waves aft of the room roll away from the hull. Quiet, except for cross wind conditions when the balcony doors whistles badly. Lots of walking because the cabin is all the way forward on the vessel. We didn't care for the air-conditioning ventilation blowing on our heads while we slept. no way to control that. Other than a very worn environment for a deluxe veranda balcony room it wasn't bad at all.  Read entire member review.
Oosterdam is 2 for 2 by azroyalsfan
Functional size, but when all the beds were out, verandah inaccessible and no moving around. DVD player was a nice addition as well as the dvd program.  Read entire member review.
Cabin 5014 was great. We didn't hear anyone outside the hallway or in the rooms next to us. We loved the location, port forward. The balcony was fine for two people to enjoy. There was plenty of storage for our clothes and luggage. The electrical outlet in the bathroom is for electric razors only. It would not power a hair dryer or curling iron. The electrical outlets at the vanity worked great for the hair dryer and curling iron. The bed was comfortable.  Read entire member review.
Family Cruise by nanniwithaneye
Lots of storage space. Suitcases fit under bed. Great balcony - if you have friends or family in adjoining cabins, get the staff to unlock doors between balconies. When booking, check if balcony is glass, if metal, it will inhibit your view of the sea from the bed. Carpet in hallways bit obtrusive - not good if you are feeling a bit seasick! Towel animals that appear on bed at night are a great touch and the children loved them. Our fixed plug in basin difficult to open to let water out. (Had to use nail file)  Read entire member review.
Very quiet room, too small for 4 people, but would be perfect for 2. Lots and Lots of storage. Great room steward. Awesome view.  Read entire member review.

Alaska Cruise Vacation by betterandbetter
great view, quiet, comfortable, plenty of storage  Read entire member review.
Cabin 5066 was clean, tidy and comfortable. Plenty of storage space, bathroom while spartan was unexpectedly roomy. Very quiet and central location with accommodation decks above and below. Verdandah smaller than most and overlooked the lifeboats but this is reflected in the price of the room, we had no issue with it as there was plenty of room to sit and you look straight out not down.  Read entire member review.

Very Quiet location and close to stairs, and elevators. Ship builders found a way to make the best use of all areas for storage.
