Cabin 352 on Deck #6, Lower Promenade Deck is a good cabin. Nary a problem.

Get-Away cruise by Ilandguy
Normal0falsefalsefalseMicrosoftInternetExplorer4our inside cabin was at the back of the ship and when docking you will have a wake up call from engine & motor noises so no need to set an alarm on port days. Normal0falsefalsefalseMicrosoftInternetExplorer4Other than this the room was very adequate and well laid out for the 2 of us  Read entire member review.

Great location just steps away from the wrap around deck which was like having our own private aft balcony.  Read entire member review.

Our Inside Cabin 412 on Deck #6 was fresh as a daisy. Very good temp. control and very new bathroom made for a most acceptable abode.  Read entire member review.

Cabin 536 Great location and very quiet. Our cabin was also always very cool which is to our liking. There was plenty of storage.  Read entire member review.

I was in 690 on Main Deck. I was very satisfied with this cabin. I was traveling in the cabin independently, so the spaciousness may have been due to the fact I wasn't sharing with anyone! I was most impressed with all of the storage. There are four closets, a desk with drawers and two night stands. This cabin had a very comfy sofa which can be used for a third passenger - there is also a drop down bunk which can accommodate a fourth so all of the storage is actually due to the fact this cabin can sleep four in a squeeze! In an effort to be eco friendly and use less energy, you should know there is only ONE outlet for the ENTIRE cabin...at the end we saw power strips were available upon request. We are going on another cruise this summer and will pack one - by the time we charge cameras, batteries, etc. - one outlet just doesn't do it! HAL also no longer passes out individual soaps/shampoos etc. - each shower/tub is equipped with dispensers that are filled daily. Its actually a wise decision. This cabin was also near a small aft deck - technically crew only - but there are passenger stairs that go up to the promenade so no one was ever told they could not exit onto the aft. Its a small, quiet area which I used as a quick exit up to the Promenade and to get cell phone service when in port! It is near the aft elevators which give you easy access to the library/dining room on 7/8 and the pool on 10/lido buffet on 11.  Read entire member review.

We stayed in an inside stateroom on the Main Deck, category K. Plenty of storage room, larger shower than some. Nicely appointed. As usual only one electrical outlet. Bring along a power strip and/or extension cord! Quite and dark. Essential for a good night's sleep.

Inside cabin, Main Deck, forward: generally, we like these cabins. They have good living space, good closet and drawer space, nice decor, and minimal potential for seasickness due to roll (because cabin is low and in the middle), although being toward the bow, you get a certain amount of pitching when in rough seas. We like the inside cabins because they avoid the lack of privacy you get in outside cabins when in port, and we prefer having a shower only, since a bathtub in rough seas is an accident waiting to happen. Nonetheless, passengers need to be forewarned: there seems to be a recurring problem aboard the Statendam with marine fuel fumes getting vented into these forward cabins - that is not only seriously unpleasant, it can be a health hazard for anyone with respiratory or allergy issues.  Read entire member review.
