Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony Cabins 151 Reviews
These mid-ship staterooms can accommodate up to three guests, with two lower beds that convert into a queen-size bed and a convertible sofa to sleep one more. Also includes a sitting area and floor-to-ceiling glass doors that open to a private balcony. Because these are mid-ship staterooms, you'll have easy access to everything on board.

Good location, but a little far from the stairways. Carpet a bit faded, but a new flat screen TV. Just make sure the doorway between adjoining balconies has been secured, I had to prop a chair against it to stop it from banging during the cruise to Bermuda. I did ask a crew member about it and he said they was a problem with relocking it.  Read entire member review.

Rather small - see my review. Good location mid-ship. Fold out sofa bed is hard, not just firm but hard. Fold out blocks balcony door. Bathroom is cramped but lots of storage space.  Read entire member review.

Family of 21-June 14-21 by Panama Mom-Mom
We had a balcony cabin that was sufficient and clean. The stewards were very friendly and remembered our names when they greeted us, but seemed overwhelmed with their amount of cabins. Our cabin wasn't turned down in the evening until close to 9:00 P.M. or after, and we are early to bed folks, so this was inconvenient.
We were 2 decks above the 7th deck shuffleboard area on the starboard side, and there were very loud, unruly parties going on one night until all but 4:00 A.M., causing us not to sleep at all; and the next night until 2:00 A.M. We called the front desk numerous times and our neighbors did as well, but the noise continued. We have since learned that the equipment is to be locked up after 8:00 P.M., but it was not. It took forever for security to do anything about the guests who had consumed  way too much alcohol. We also learned that there are only 2 security people on after 12MID, again this could be 2AM as some staff was not sure. Regardless, not enough for a ship that size.
Our children had cabins on the 5th deck and they seemed to be minus enough towels for everyone and had to keep asking for more. They did have their cabins turned down while they went to dinner.
One of our children is hearing impaired and she did have a hearing impaired alarm clock as well as lights that flashed when the door was opened and special lighting for the fire alarm as well. We were impressed with that even though the alarm clock did not keep correct time. We had asked about this equipment when we booked the trip but NCL said the Dawn did not have this capability. Upon arrival however, the cabin was hearing impaired equipped.  Read entire member review.

Fun Times by josie700
Cabin was my only complaint. We had a balcony and there were 3 of us in the room, when the beds are out you cannot get access to the balcony. The outside cabins were bigger as the balcony takes away room space.  Read entire member review.

We'll be back! by twenty years from now
We loved our balcony room 9118. It was quiet and since it was mid ship, the ship's movement was minimal. Since we never use the elevators, the location of the room was great for taking the stairs all over the ship. For us it was the perfect room.  Read entire member review.

The balcony room had a large king size bed, small pull out couch and table, and a small table and chair. The closet was pretty large, with shelves on the left to put shoes. The vanity was next to the bed with strategically placed mirrors so you could watch the TV on the far wall while getting ready for the day. The bathroom was well designed - with a very nice shower stall and an additional small magnifying mirror over the sink.

There was a safe in the closet, and three small drawers for storage. There were three shelves also available. Suitcases fit nicely under the bed.

Compared to Holland America's balcony rooms, the room seemed smaller, but not overall. The Norwegian living area was smaller but there was definitely more space in the bathroom and more storage. The balcony size was about the same.

Two important things to note. First, there are only two electrical outlets in the room. One at the vanity, and one in the bathroom. If you have sleep apnea and use a CPAP, you will need to use extension cords to reach the bed. Second, some people had egg-crate foam mattress covers delivered to their rooms to make the beds more comfortable.

We had a category BA balcony stateroom. Like most staterooms it was cramped and that's okay, but they had a couple tables that just didn't seem to fit. No matter what you did with them they just seemed out of place. I liked the bathroom. It had a roomy shower with a sliding door instead of a curtain and the toilet also had a sliding door (for that extra privacy when you need it). The balcony was average but, it had old rotting cork flooring that tracked back into the room, and forget about standing on it in socks. It really needs to be replaced. But, it served its purpose of giving me a quiet place to relax and watch the sea roll by.

Norwegian Dawn - Cabin 9168 - great bathroom size but cabin is a little smaller than on most ships. Great location - quiet but close enought to levels 12 and 7 (where you spend most of the time).  Read entire member review.

good location (close to amid ship on relatively low deck), good WiFi, very quiet (not a connecting room), small but adequate interior space and balcony, furniture slightly dated, liked flat-screen TV and mini-refrigerator in room, liked sliding glass door for shower  Read entire member review.

Mid ship which was nice during rough seas. People smoking on other balconies got a bit tiresome, wind would blow all the smoke in our room (we faced the ocean when docked) Right near good elevators and interenet cafe (if youre planning on using it) Hidden shelves in closet are useful.
Room has 4 life perservers taking up one of the shelves I so desperately needed. Extra pillow was filthy.
Only one plug in whole room.. out of the way.
Have to time the rechargers pretty well. (Camera/ Video Camera) Smaller than balconies I am use to on Carnival.

Cabin as a balcony room with plenty of room for 2. Small balcony but we didn't mind. Loved the room. Bathroom you plenty large enough too. Room had plenty of storage places. Big closet and even a small fridge.  Read entire member review.

We were in Cabin 9576 port side forward. The cabin was OK at its best. It is fine for 2 adults and 1 average size child. Once the couch is folded out to a bed, you cannot get out on the balcony. We had the steward to not pull the bed out all the way and it was OK after that, if you squeezed through. The sliding door was VERY noisy and the glass very dirty(salt spray). It wasn't cleaned the entire trip. The drawers on the dressed under the table would not stay in during rough weather, which was a lot of the nights. We had to wedge a piece of paper in them to keep them closed. We found the cabin noise inside very annoying(creaking, popping, etc.)What we did like a lot about the room was the bathroom. Separate Potty,Vanity & Shower w/ sliding doors. A lot better then the curtains on other cruise lines.  Read entire member review.

Good location in front central part of ship on starboard side. Liked the balcony. The room stewards were wonderful. Friendly from the time we boarded until we left. Room was a little small, but we didn't really spend much time there. It was very quiet nights.  Read entire member review.

closet space o.k , fine for 2 people , 3 would be crowded. people smoking on other balconys was annoying to nonsmokers. above life boats mid ship location was good. Bed was hard as a rock ,missing plush cover for mattress. Bathroom had sewer smell along with the 6 cabins to the left of 9576.  Read entire member review.

Lots of storage space, great bathroom, comfy beds.  Read entire member review.

Stateroom 9578 is located slightly forward of mid-ship on the port (left) side of the ship. We were told this was a good location for first-time cruisers who didn't know whether we'd get sea-sickness (we didn't). My husband is 6ft tall, 200 lbs and I'm 5'6", 180...we were a little cramped when walking around the cabin and I felt "big" in the bathroom, bumping into the sliding doors even on calm sea days. It has the balcony I wanted - clear plexi-glass 4th wall so I could still watch the sea while sitting down (on the beach chairs). Also, its relatively private. Over all I thought the stateroom utilized space very efficiently, but we think we'll look into a mini-suite our next cruise.  Read entire member review.

Slightly Underwhelmed by fourdogsmom
The balcony was very nice I love the glass wall, which allows you to sit back and watch the ocean without straining to see over the railing. The chairs were really nice, too - blue reclining chairs, so you could sunbathe from your balcony. The furniture layout was really tight, and we had to squeeze past each other many times over the cruise. But there was more than enough storage space for everything, and it never felt cluttered. The bathroom was really room, and I loved the shower best one I've ever had. Nice sliding doors and a removable spray nozzle just like home! Our cabin steward was Indra, and he was really good we gave him an extra tip for his efforts.  Read entire member review.

We were in room 9600 Balcony Mid- ship. Loved it! The room wasn't huge, but big enough for what we needed. They had a closet to hang clothes in, but we mostly lived out of our suitcases, which was fine. The shower was our favorite, the water pressure was fantastic! Loved, Loved, Loved the balcony!! We really enjoyed the fresh air and beautiful views...even saw whales on our return to Boston!! I also purchased the "Birthday Package", for my husband, which is decorating of your room and a birthday cake..well worth the money!! My husband loved it!! The rooms were cleaned and beds made every day and night! Loved our steward!  Read entire member review.

Midships BA port side was a great location, no noise, a close distance to an elevator. As with all NCL ships built in Germany, the sole A/C plug is wired incorrectly, the grounding hole should be on the bottom therefore you can't plug in a night lite.  Read entire member review.

Mixed bag of nuts by jimminie_crickets
The cabin was great. There was no connecting door to another cabin. And the noise between cabins was not noticeable. The location on deck 9 is in the middle of the corridor, halfway between middle and aft elevators - so there is not a lot of traffic. The port side balcony is nice when in port at Kings Wharf, with island facing views. The bathroom was extremely functional and efficiently arranged. The shower was awesome and well vented. The closet and storage cabinets are well organized. There is a light in the closet (though the switch is somewhat hidden) located in the top/back of the closet. There is only one 120v outlet - so we were glad that we brought a power strip with us (as recommended in the other reviews we read). We were traveling with a 21-month-old. The room attendant brought us a pack-n-play, but we preferred the fold-out sofa-bed for our toddler. The height of the fold-out is low enough that it still seemed safe for us - and when it folded out - it actually annexed to the main king-size bed.  Read entire member review.

RE-FUN-SITIONING by onyourmark
Good location, adequate size, the shower stall roomy, but the toilet enclosure was very tight with a sliding door and its jagged edge aluminum frame and jamb. We brought our own soap and shampoo (only a dispenser was available for both). The bed was firm, but we got used to it without requesting a mattress cover. The balcony offered privacy and had a slight overhang for shade. We needed ten more hangers for the closet. There is a light inside the closet, but it takes a few seocnds to start. The flat screen TV offers limited channels, and the remote only has a channel up/down key. If you hold it down it will move quickly through the channel numbers. There is a crew entrance across the hall, so on occasion we heard some conversations as they were moving about.  Read entire member review.

Cabin was in great location , very quiet, couldn't sense any motion of ship even though on a couple days many people were effected by motion sickness. Jimmy was pleasant steward. Always visible and willing to help. We didn't require any additional aids. There was plenty of room for clothing.  Read entire member review.

We were 10th floor, mid ship balcony. Room was fine. Toilet area is tiny, my husband is 6 foot 4 inches. If he was any taller, he'd have a hard time fitting in the room's bathroom. Bring extra hangers if you tend to over pack. I am so glad that I did.  Read entire member review.

We were happy with our balcony room, mid ship. The shelves in the closet were a bit awkward getting clothes in and out with your other clothing hanging up. We were surrounded with teenagers across the hall and on both sides of us which made it a bit noisy at times. Other than that we were pleased with the stateroom.  Read entire member review.

This cabin floor is the best for people who want quiet. Deck ten is not between any public areas, and in two trips have found it to be virtually silent. I love the fact I am center of the ship so you can go wherever you like and have access to everything. Toilet area is a bit small for larger people.  Read entire member review.

My cabin was mid ship starboard side. Quiet, but despite their advertisement it is good for three, I think three would be to many. Loved having a balcony, will never sail any other way again. Prefer the old Dawn by Got2HaveSun
We had a category BB balcony on the 10th deck. It was adequate but I felt we needed more drawer space. My daughter's OV cabin on deck 5 had an extra set of drawer end tables but that cabin could also accommodate 3pax, mine was just a double cabin. Balconies are not big. The only use we get it for is to look outside when the ship is coming into port. We don't spend time on it at all, it's too small. We were right by the elevators and stairs, nice for us to have close access. Not very noisy at all. Above us were the suites. We had a very noisy family with 3 children who jumped and ran around all day, every day. It was so bad that I had to go up there to speak with them and see if I can work it out without needing to call the front desk. The family could care less. I wish I did call the front desk to talk to them. I was frustrated by the last day. We couldn't sleep in ever because of the jumping and running very early in the morning.  Read entire member review.
