Never Again! by thepplking
Stateroom: Very hard beds. We had to request extra padding for the beds two times so we could sleep. Clean, but we did find a pair of black panties under the bed on day five that did not belong to either of us. Also, if you select a cabin with a balcony, be careful where it is located on the ship. The balconies near the front of the ship where we were located had a more confined view than the others located amidships. Smoking was our number one complaint. Every time we returned to our stateroom it reeked of smoke and it was not from the cabin steward. We had smokers in the rooms on both sides of our cabin and it was nasty. We could not believe that NCL still allows smoking inside the staterooms! Especially when they make a point of telling you during the first lifeboat drill that FIRE is the NUMBER ONE Danger aboard a ship! DUH!  Read entire member review.

Nice balcony, decent sized room for three people, comfortable beds (even the sofa bed), tiny bathroom. Above the promenade and near the theater, so slightly loud when shows would get out.  Read entire member review.

room was overall a good one. the bed which is 2 twins pushed together, kept coming apart sometimes. little cabinet space. this is a corner room so we only had one other cabin to our right. hallway did get a little noisy sometimes and you could even hear people running above use but at night it was quiet. the balcony is very small but it's the shielded kind so we had no noise, wind or sun hitting it. we quite enjoyed it by sitting on the 2 chairs and reading. pillows are European style which is wonderful :)  Read entire member review.

Balcony Stateroom 9032- Great balcony on deck 9 with a quiet location. We loved being at the front of the ship away from the hustle and bustle of the public areas. Closet space worked for us as well as the bathroom space and our Steward Joel, couldn't have been better. We had great views all throughout our cruise. Loved having the clothes line in the shower to hang up wet bathing suits and excursion gear. Tip: bring clothes pins, as things dried a lot fast not hanging directly on the line. Best advice: Bring additional extension cord or multi-plugs to utilize the vanity area outside the bathroom for doing hair and make-up without trying up the bathroom.  Read entire member review.

It was tiny, when the little love seat was folded down into a bed for our daughter we couldn't even get to the balcony. Beds very hard, especially the fold out. The bathroom was nice, decent size. The closet space was decent as well. We enjoyed the movies on their movie channel which streamed movies that have just come out on video but the TV was laughable, a very old 13" CRT!!  Read entire member review.

Great first Cruise by Gobalina
Room 10090 with balcony. Perfect location. We went to deck 6 and 12 most of the time and could easily walk. Also this seemed to be a good place on the ship when we were in rough water. Our room did not seem to have the rocking that other places on the boat had.  Read entire member review.

Well laid out; bathroom was roomier that some we have been on; somewhat adequate storage space. Balcony was small but also adequate for 2 people. Seemed to be well maintained. Good location. Might want to consider a bigger television with more channels.  Read entire member review.

Sailing the Star! by Whippets
Our BA balcony cabin was kept immaculate. Our room stewards were Victor and Merianne. There were plenty of hangers, drawers and cabinets to keep our belongings. We had towel animals every night except the first evening. We did have some squeaking noises when the seas got a little rough. Not certain where they were coming from.  Read entire member review.

Quiet. Good bathroom setup (sink in the middle and separate doors on each side for a shower and a toilet). Average sized closet. Shelves located in the closet (don't notice at first). Desk area too small. Table in room makes for tight space. Don't put more than 2 people in this room. Three is way too many! Great beds. Balcony good enough for 2, but only for drinks, not dinner. Excellent view. Best view for Alaska cruise (get to see the scenery all the way up to Alaska).  Read entire member review.

Incredible balcony and view (you will not want to go back to inside or ocean view rooms), quiet (no/low noise from hallway), nicely appointed room (not gaudy), quick/good room housekeeping, white sheets, annoying crease in the middle of our "queen" bed due to twins pushed together, somewhat hard mattresses but nice pillows, not too cramped a room actually, great bathroom though small, only one 110V outlet in room so bring power strip and extension cord, hair dryer in the room (not bathroom), TV is tiny/low quality but did have inputs to watch our own videos from our camera. Watch out for guys who roll by your balcony window at ports to spray down ship--they caught us by surprise a few times while we were practically naked--there was no warning about them or what they were doing. We loved the privacy and view of the room and spent much time there. We were tempted by the $150/couple for the week to use the Spa facility, but room was sufficient with public hot tubs. In room safe was sufficient for small items like wallets, batteries, keys, cameras, iPods, phones, but not for a laptop. Maybe an iPad?  Read entire member review.
10220
Cabin 10220 is a standard balcony stateroom that was well appointed, but a little shop worn. The bed was much harder than those we enjoyed on the Sky and Jade last year, the upholstery was faded on the couch and the drapes had tears and holes. The balcony itself was missing chunks of the non-skid material, and the balcony glass had a milky white appearance due to water spots (the glass was cleaned in Juneau).  Read entire member review.

The aft balcony is extra large and is out of the wind. The spa is right above, so there is no late night noise.  Read entire member review.

Great proximity to the elevators- I thought this might be bad but we experienced no noise from that area. Shower is great! Only three drawers, but lots of open shelving. TV is ridiculously small. Beds are very firm even with folded padding under sheets YOU CANNOT HEAR THE ANNOUNCEMENTS in your room- there is no on/off switch 2 electrical outlets- one in bathroom is hidden with flip up cover under shelf  Read entire member review.

The sofa bed was too small and way too hard for the third person, plus it was right next to the big bed so you couldn't move to get to the balcony once it was open. Bathrooms were great but we would have liked to have the extra room elsewhere. Storage was ample. Balcony for 2 is fine but does not accomdate a third person.  Read entire member review.

Mostly Good by SunLillyFairy
Cabin: Balcony, mid-ship, port, 10th floor. This room was PERFECT location. Great for elevators and easy access. Port side is great for this cruise, only one day without land view. Bathroom: Best of 3 cruises. More room, nice tile, nice sink. Clean. If you're tall you'll find the toilet area to be short and may consider upgrade to mini-suite where bathrooms are deeper. Ship provided good Shampoo, not-so-good liquid soap, no conditioner in stall shower. No tub but larger shower than last 2 ships I was on, and great shower head. Water system is great and water tastes great, no need for bottled. (I didn't believe it because I'm so picky about water, but it was true.) Furniture: Smart design = room under bed for our suitcases. Closet was smallish but had lots of shelves and options and met our needs for three. It was tight, but it worked. Angled cuts, mirrors, and a chair without a back (stool) made for more walking space. Only one plug, bring a power strip or splitter if you have more than one device. (Cameras, cell phones, etc.) Hair dryer was fine. Beds: Queen was a bit hard, but OK. Pillows were good, bedding was good. Fold-out bed for my daughter was HARD AS A ROCK. I'm not sure how she could stand it... it would have killed by back and neck. She is 15 and sleeps on the floor sometimes "just because"... she had no complaints. LOL. If I had to sleep on that I would have been miserable without a foam pad. Cleanliness: I'm picky about this. Bathroom was all tile, which make it easier to clean, and it was very clean. Changing out rooms they missed a french fry under the bed and the slider had "finger writing" of hearts from the prior passenger. After we got the room it was cleaned very well each day. Our attendant said he was just back from time off so I have to guess he didn't prepare the room... without us asking windows were clean and fry was gone after the first cleaning. Room attendant: Outstanding! Friendly, great service. We did tip a couple of extra dollars... he left us robes and pool towels without us asking, and great towel animals. He knew our schedule and turned down our room early. A few times I left out cash on accident and it was never touched. He called us by first name, always smiled, and quickly met any requests we had. Balcony: A very small balcony, smaller than on most ships. But, large enough for 2 chairs and met our needs. BRING GOOD BINOCULARS. We brought some cheesy ones thinking we wouldn't need them. We were fighting over them and wished we had three good pair. TV: Horrible little 13" old tube TV. I don't care much about a Us: Husband (37), self (42), and 15-year old daughter. We live in northern CA; we drove and parked. This is our 3rd cruise, our 1st on NCL. Boarding: We arrived at the parking structure at 10:00, and they wouldn't let us park in "cruise parking" until 10:30. They did give us the option to wait in some open spaces that faced the port and ship until they were ready for us. However, I'm glad we arrived early. We used Republic Parking and paid $140 for the week. https://www.rpnw.com/seattle/fuel/ There were cheaper options, but for those you have to wait for a shuttle and it only saves $20-40. This garage is right across the pier and has nice elevators, luggage service, and a Sky-Bridge that walks you across to the NCL cruise lobby. It was worth it. The check-in process was so fast that I found myself fumbling to fill out forms and pull out passports. They got us checked in and gave us a number to wait for our group to be called. We were "11," the first group was "10." When we boarded at 11:30 there was still no line for those going through check in. I would suggest you arrive as early as possible. Ship: Not as grand and beautiful as other ships I've seen... but very nice. The atrium and main pool deck were nice and I thought they provided nice seating and atmosphere. My daughter loved the water slides. I liked the staggered stair-type seating at the pool. I liked the varied art in the stairwells. I saw a few places that could have been dressed up better, but overall it was fine and in most places very nice. Cabin: Balcony, mid-ship, port, 10th floor. This room was PERFECT location. Great for elevators and easy access. Port side is great for this cruise, only one day without land view. Bathroom: Best of 3 cruises. (More room, nice tile, nice sink. Clean. We were fighting over them and wished we had three good pair. TV: Horrible little 13" old tube. I don't care much about a TV on a cruise, but it did seem a bit ridiculous to have such an old and little TV. I do like to refer to the ship's channel that gives you information such as current location, time, miles sailed from and to next port, temperature of air and water, speed of vessel, sea condition and wave height. With volume up you can also hear ship's announcements. I know many people use the front bow camera for light. Even with window or balcony if you close the curtains for sleeps it's really dark. They had a few channels with movies and one with TV shows. We didn't care about watching TV but if you do you won't be happy with tiny screen or old TV. Tip: Bring a small digital clock. There's not one in the room. I knew this and thought I'd just use my cell but it was a hassle to climb over the bed and go pick it up every time I wanted to see the time. I thought I wouldn't care.. I mean, we're on vacation, who cares about time? But, if you want to go to dinner/shows/activities/ports of call... you will care. I wish I would have followed advice of others and brought a clock that you can see in the dark and across the room.  Read entire member review.

10636 We immediately went to our cabin as we wanted to see what the balcony stateroom would be like. Very nice, clean and adequate stateroom. Nicely appointed with plenty of closet and drawer space. Bed looked to be overly large with plenty of pillows. Mini bar, tv, beach towels were also present. I particularly liked the way the bathroom was laid out with two sliding doors (one for the shower, center compartment with sink, one for the actual head.) One nice surprise was a $50. complimentary on board credit from NCL as a "Welcome Aboard" present. The room was also exceptionally clean.  Read entire member review.

Good location between two stairways which was helpful considering the accessability challenges of the Versaille and the Aqua. No noticeable motion or noise.  Read entire member review.

Loved this location. Surprised that crew would allow the passengers across the hall from us to park their baby stroller in the hall all week. The halls are pretty narrow for that. Design flaw: It would be nice if the light switch for the bathroom were inside the bathroom instead of outside. Then at night, you can go in, shut the door, then turn on the light. As it is, you wake others up as light floods into the cabin from the bathroom when you open the door. We emptied the fridge (the little bottles of liquor, cans of soda, etc.) to have room for what we wanted to put in there, but then those bottles and cans took up valuable shelf space. Since we weren't going to use any of them, we'd have liked a way to just be rid of them for the week.  Read entire member review.

Surprised at the small size of our "mini-suite, mid ship balcony" cabin 11576. The only chair in the room was a pull out sofa-bed that slid forward anytime one sat on it. Annoying and uncomfortable. Finally gave up and sat on the bed. There was a pull out desk type chair under the TV armoire but using that required moving the coffee table and sofa bed... not worth the hassle. Also, the TV was straight out of the 80s. A big fat device with a 15" screen. On ship programming was poor and ridiculously repetitive. The balcony itself was fine and matched our experiences on Holland America and Royal Caribbean.  Read entire member review.

Closets were small, soap trays in shower did not work, carpet wrinkled and worn, beds need to be replaced, smoking needs to be limited to one side of the ship only or only in the lounges, could have our balcony door open because of smoke from the next door balcony always coming in.  Read entire member review.

We had a 9th floor balcony close to mid-ship. The problem with the room is it had 2 twin beds instead of 1 queen bed. We slid the two beds together but you could still feel the crack between the two beds. the room was very small but I guess when all you do is sleep in there it does not need to be big. The balcony was kind of nice but again too small since you could not fold out both chairs to lay down on the balcony. You could not even fold one down all the way.  Read entire member review.

Our cabin was okay. The door came off the shower while I was in it but I could re-track it myself. Maintenance WD40'd the screeching drawers the first day. I was glad our cabin was no wear near mid ship because the noise levels were so high from the open Atrium entertainment. I like that the space under the bed was usable for suitcases and storage of life jackets.  Read entire member review.

Cabin 10622 was a BA room. Our Steward was excellent. He introduced himself as soon as we arrived. The cabin was kept immaculate during our trip. It was smaller than some of the other Norwegian ships, but adequate. The closet was smaller than the Jewel, but we had no problem putting things away. We travel with soft luggage, so we had no problem storing it under the bed. There were two electric outlets in the room, but we travel ith a electric outlet strip to charge our electronics.  Read entire member review.

Cabins are small, as would be expected, but with plenty of storage. It was a comfortable room, but we could not enjoy the balcony because of smokers next to us. This has happened on all but one of our NCL cruises. We don't get what we pay for with a balcony, yet we enjoyed it so much on the few occasions when we could use it. NCL needs to address this problem. Non-smokers should not have to limit the use of property they paid for because their smoke can't be confined to their area. They should be required to smoke only in their rooms.  Read entire member review.
