Cabin 9232 Penthouse suite aft starboard was fantastic. It was spacious and has a wrap around balcony we loved. There is room for two loungers side by side and two chairs and small table on the teak balcony. The area that wraps around the side of ship is only wide enough for one person but allows you to see much more than those that have only an aft view.
We didn't experience vibration issues from thrusters and absolutely adored watching the Ship's wake form.
There is a comfortable love couch, chair and round glass top coffee table as well as a four chair dining table, bar area, plenty of counter space and a closet that has double door and is accessible on two sides. There is a spacious and comfortable vanity although the lighting is not ideal but ok. There is one outlets and it's in the vanity area, so you need a multi-plug cord if you bring chargeable electronics like we did.
The bathroom has a spacious sit down tub and plenty of counter space around the lavatory. The John can be private using sliding doors.
When we sail on the Star again, we will definitely seek the ads Penthouse on either port or starboard side. Read entire member review. |

An aft penthouse, romance suite or BA are the most quiet you can get. The sound of the wake, 24/7, is just wonderful. The view is spectacular and you can always watch the bow cam on tv from the deck to see what's coming. Storage is excellent for clothing and personal items in the suites and 2 safes are a great luxury. The balconies on 8 and 9 are small, but for a one week cruise they are fine. Just remember the embers rain down at night and the water from above in the early morning! Read entire member review. |

The forward penthouse cabins on deck 9 are fantastic. Large main cabin, full bath and separate partition for the toilet. Good storage space and large closet for your clothes. The corridor from the sleeping area to the bath is pretty narrow, meaning you've got to be pretty careful heading through to avoid hitting the drawer pulls.
Also, there's only one US-standard 120 volt outlet, which is near the mirror outside the bathroom. There are a bunch of 220 volt outlets (designed for plugs with two round pins.) If you've got a lot of electronics to charge, consider bringing the appropriate adapters.

No drawers in nightstand or desk. small TV w/ bad sound on several channels, poor closet location- hard to use. Very roomy cabin, comfortable beds, great linens, nice bathroom with full tub. Quiet cabin, nice balcony, good temperature controls, great location to spa and dining. Read entire member review. |

| 12012 |
Cabin 12012 is one of the new Penthouse suites on the Star. It is laid out in a very comfortable floor plan. It is very roomy for two people. Three people wouldn't be too bad but 4 would be pushing the comfort level.
There could be more lighting in the bathroom. The flat screen TV is mounted on the wall and can pivot so you can view from the bed or couch.
The cabin has excellent closet space but could use more light there as well.
The balcony is nice with 3 wicker chairs and a small table. It would be nicer if there was at least one lounge chair.
There is only a coffee table in the cabin so it isn't real comfortable if you decide to order a meal in. Can be done but not as comfortable as a regular table would be. Read entire member review. |

Our cabin, a mini-suite on deck 11 forward, was spacious and very comfortable. The closet was a very nice size - thanks to a previous post I had read I found the light in the closet (red button in the back under the top shelf) - with lots of shelves and plenty of hangers (Yes, I over-packed and had too many clothes) There was a king sized bed, a sofa, a small table and two chairs. A wall unit housed the 13 TV, a coffee maker with supplies for regular and decaf coffee (that were replenished daily), and refrigerator/mini bar which was well stocked with beverages which were priced comparable to the bars. We had a full bath, including a regular sized bathtub which was a nice surprise! The toilet was separated by a sliding glass door which provided some privacy if two people wanted to use the facilities. The best part of the cabin was the shaded balcony with two lounge chairs. Our sliding glass windows provided magnificent views, even from the bed! Read entire member review. |
