Balcony Cabins 5 Reviews
With room for up to three guests, these staterooms have two lower beds that convert into a queen-size bed and a pull out sofa to accommodate one more. Along with a sitting area, floor-to-ceiling glass doors and a private balcony with an amazing view.

My cabin was spacious with plenty of storage, and my steward Jamie was most attentive. Even though he had a number of other cabins to service, I always felt that I was of the utmost importance. The ice bucket was never empty! The balcony was neat (smallish) but wasn't overlooked and I was lucky that I didn't have smokers anywhere around me!

When we arrived on the ship in Copenhagen we were shocked to experience a ship in need of repair. The carpets were stained, dirty, and smelled of either urine or a heavy cleaning solution. There was what looked like dried blood on our balcony, mold in our bathroom, and our bedding was stained. Mind you, we booked one of the nicer, more expensive, staterooms. Also we ordered a queen-size bed in our room. What we got were two twin beds pushed together with a giant gap in the center. I’m sure it’s obvious that this causes problems on a honeymoon vacation. If you are planning to book a NCL cruise, I suggest you bring your own air mattress as the beds there were not only hard, they were lumpy and outrageously uncomfortable. Soldiers in war are more comfortable in their cots than a we were in the NCL bed.

The room is very quiet and well located. The ship is older, but in generally good condition. The closet has a light, which is a nice feature. You might want to consider bringing your own shampoo and conditioner if you are picky.

Families should note that the balcony rooms on the NCL star are a bit tight for 3 people and if possible should consider booking a more expensive cabin. If you have children who nap, please carefully check the deck plan prior to selecting a room since many of the mini suites are not above and below staterooms.
