Cabin #1240 Royal Caribbean Explorer of the Seas: Cabin very nice, chair in room was worn and slightly soiled. Bed was very firm. Carpet brand new as of 10/31/12 due to flooding from Hurricane Sandy. Ample closet space. Small shower/bathroom but adequate. Location near elevators, quiet area. Overall: Liked the cabin very much  Read entire member review.

The location was good, above the lifeboats. Balcony was useless due to railing height & material. Standing up looking over the railing was a nice view. Because of the design of the ship, the lower floors, 1-3, don't go from end to end. Eventually people learned that this hallway could be used to get from one end of the ship to the other. There was always a lot of foot traffic in the hallway. The A/C was adequate, was always catching up if you opened the balcony door though. I overheard another guest say their A/C was like a meat locker, that wasn't the case for this cabin.  Read entire member review.

Cabin 6300 is fully wheelchair accessible. The door to the passageway is a bit stiff, and we cheated in holding it open by using the small doorstop that our stateroom attendants used to hold the door open while manuvering the chair inside. The bathroom was laid out neatly, and the shower was very comfortable. It has the area of the shower delineated with strips of deck drains, that handled the water draining efficiently except for one time in heavy seas on the way back when the ship was rolling around and the water sloshed a bit. The bed was very firm, and comfortable - we had it set up in queen configuration, though it can be separated into twins. There was additionally a small sofa, that I was not fond of so I rarely sat in it. The cabin was a bit wider than normal for that class to make it chair accessible, and the balcony was the full width of the cabin, with a small ramp to make it easier to move onto the balcony. The safe was in the desk area, raised to be convenient at chair height, and there was a second peep hole in the door at chair height, and a second strip of robe hooks on the bathroom door, at chair height. There was a good solid fold down seat in the shower, and the shower had both a waterfall and a hand held shower, with the water temperature adjust being separate from the flow adjust. There is adequate space by the door to store a folding wheelchair, and if you have a scooter you can have the stateroom attendant remove the little glass and chrome occasional table and park it there and plug it in for charging. A caveat, you do have to occasionally play dodge the laundry cart during the day as the passageways are a bit narrow, and on the last evening dodge the luggage as people place their luggage out for pickup...and if the seas are heavy moving around on crutches or a walker can be a bit tricky.  Read entire member review.

Had interconnecting cabins for the 6 of us 3 beds in each) which was great as we used it as a single cabin for the 6 of us. Balcony had enough room for us to use as we chose and the location right in the centre of the ship was excellent for us to get anywhere and also for the kids to find their way back when we weren't with them. No excessive noise in these cabins and enough room to met our needs. Considering we booked late, these were excllent cabins and would seek them or similar out if using this or a similar ship in future.  Read entire member review.

We got a nice surprise by booking a guaranty & getting a balcony cabin. Every inch of space is efficiently used for storage. We had more than we needed. The beds were super comfy. The bathroom was small but being seasoned cruisers, we're used to that. Everything was acceptable.

Great balcony view, tiny shower/bathroom. Comfortable bedding!  Read entire member review.

7274 could use a balcony overhall. rusted around the sliding glass door on the outside. Didn't really like how the wall comes part of the way up and then the window starts. Would much rather have the entire balcony wall looking out be a window. Room is a very good size, TV could be updated. The sofa did have a loose arm, on the side of the beds.  Read entire member review.

We had a room with a balcony. I was very happy with our room. We were mid ship (less rocky) by the library and near elevators. Lots of storage and comfortable sitting area. Even though it was mostly chilly, I don't regret the balcony. It was less chilly than sitting up on the deck. I couldn't hear too much noise from our neighboring rooms. I heard some shutting of drawers and things, and in the bathroom you can hear the other toilets near you flush, but other than that I couldn't hear a thing. Our stateroom was always made up when we came back to our rooms, and our attendant was friendly. The TV sucked. We were in our room sometimes (when there were no activities that caught our eye and since we couldn't really sit out on the deck...) and most of the channels were spanish. Almost all. If they were in english, they had spanish subtitles. It didn't ruin my day or anything, but it was odd to me. Good shower water pressure!

Our Stateroom was exactly as depicted online. This was our first time cruise so we have nothing to compare it to, but we found the room to be well maintained. We were on the 7th deck on the port side midship. We enjoyed the outside balcony and spent plenty of time there. As I'm a smoker it was nice to be able to enjoy my cigarettes and view the ocean. The bathroom is small but efficient. I had no problems with the size of the shower (I'm 6' tall and 200 lbs) and was pleased by the hot water (any hotter and it was have scalded me). I never saw our Stateroom attendant, but he/she must have been aware of our comings and goings because the beds were made, towels changed etc. every time we got back to the room. The mattress was firm, which was to my liking and the air conditioning kept the room quite comfortable. Overall we enjoyed the stateroom and would book the same room again.

7620 - great room...quiet...easy access to elevators/steps...close to library which overlooked the Promenade.  Read entire member review.

Our cabin was located mid-ship aft. The cabin was literally 20 steps from the staircase and aft elevators. The room was very clean and presentable. In fact, we had a new flat panel Samsung TV in the cabin compared to the other cabins which still had old tube-style TVs. Considering the age of the ship the room was in decent shape and the beds were very comfortable. Some of the furniture with the constant use was showing wear and hopefully at some point will be refreshed and/or fixed. Being towards the rear of the ship made it easy for getting to the food and beverage areas on the ship. However, to get to the theatre up forward required walking half the ship.  Read entire member review.

some what a good cruise by needsavaction03

Cabin very outdated. Had rust and rust stains all over the balcony. Carpet in cabin was stained. Also the location was right in front of the elevators so all hours of the night all I heard was flip flop flip flop. By the 3rd night I had to sleep with my ipod on. NOT GOOD.

Balcony looks very old and worn. Desperately needs a paint job. Balcony rails are raw wood and should be stained and finished. STAINED SHEETS!!! UNACCEPTABLE!!  Read entire member review.

#8592. Quiet location, aft port side. Balcony had 2 chairs and small table.
Bathroom was adequate, lots of storage in bathroom and also in the desk area. Near to the internet cafe. Bathroom was always clean and functional. Old TV and bad reception on some channels. Bed was large, at least a king size. Hairdryer provided, soap dispenser in shower. No other toiletries provided, bring your own shampoo/conditioner, razors, toothpaste etc. (no little welcome pack)

Cabin 9642 is OK; quiet and with LOTS of storage space in drawers and shelves and hangers in the closet. During our trip we had a major plumbing leak that started with the toilet filling to the brim. Flushing would suck the water out but the refilling would not stop........after that was "fixed" we had returned to find the rug wet inside and outside our cabin with the water going under the floor somehow from somewhere......after that was "fixed" we were once again confident to flush the toilet............then the catastrophe started again with the water pouring from the toilet with no way to stop it............Good parts: the water was at least clean after having flushed first and the response of the maintenance staff was very fast and commendable. The problem seems to be fixed so that the cabin should not have this problem again and may be a good choice from others that have yet to befall this fate.  Read entire member review.

Nice balcony cabin on deck 6 but I wish I had picked a balcony on deck 7 or above because on deck 6 under the railing is solid steel not glass. We lost some views of the ocean

The cabins were okay, small like any other ship. The closet was spacious the bathroom was run down. The toilet had dark brown rings in it, rust on the bathroom floor in the corners. The carpet and couch in the room had stains on them big ones not small ones, it just seemed aged.  Read entire member review.

What a Great 1st Cruise!!! by Baby Blue Eyes
Cabins are smaller than average hotel rooms but very managable. In the closet are shelves to unpack your T-shirts, shorts, shoes etc. There were wooden hangers in the closet and lots of room for garment bag(s) and suitcase(s). Your life jackets are stored on the floor in the closet with still enough room. I just left my clothing in my suitcase to save space and not have to take extra time to repack everything on the last night. Rather use the time to see shows, caught sunsets, and enjoy all the night life of the ship. Beds are super comfortable and clean. I didn't use my Lysol. Everything smelled and looked immaculate. I took alcohol wipes to clean the remote and phone receiver. I did take Lysol wipes (small travel pack to give a wipe on the potty seat and handles on doors for safe measure. Our room was behind the elevators and didn't hear any noise. The rooms seem to be sound proof so ok to snore, back wind or moan (oops). Seriously, the stateroom attendent works very hard to make your stay most enjoyable and more importantly comfortable. We had a hump room w/balcony that was a great view and very relaxing to lay in bed and see the seas. The kids had a PR room with a great view looking over the Royal Prom area. Room w/sitting couch, window seat, full bathroom w/stand up shower and refrig. Good lighting and comfortable. It works for adults and teens perfectly. The rooms aren't like home but you could easily adapt to the stateroom for sleep and changing with no problems. There is too much to do on the ship to hang out in your stateroom! NB: Don't lose your beach towel or you will be charged $20 for a replacement. Take your own hairdryer. The one in the stateroom is like a 1200 watt. It works in a pinch. We didn't need our power strip b/c there were enough outlets to handle the items that needed plugged in. No irons & boards in the room. Take Downy Wrinkle Releaser as your portable iron or send out to press. Not ridiculously priced. Carpets are showing some wear in normal traffic areas, bedding white and great and clean. We slept great:) If you are a big person (heavy or tall) fore warn you that the showers are small. Take your own shampoo and soap. Basic stuff available. Phones in rooms. Balcony nice but don't lean too close up against it b/c of the salt from the seas residue lightly on the payne. Most importantly, NO MUSTY, MOLDY SMELLS OR SPOTS in the cabin.  Read entire member review.
