Cabin 0267 was an aft mini suite with a balcony. Size was moderate, that bathroom was BIG. We travelled with our five year old and with our Steward (Nelson) he kept the extra bed out of our way when it wasn't being used, and freed up a lot of space for us. With the extra bed out there was VERY little room in the bedroom for anything or anyone else.
The SUN is an older boat and still has the propeller shafts attached to the props on the back of the ship. No engines mounted in variable rotating pods on this ship. The aft of the ship vibrated and rolled considerably more than the NCL Jade which had the electric motors mounted in pods beneath the ship. (We traveled on the JADE in an AE Penthouse on the 9th Deck AFT) When coming into, or leaving port, slowing, speeding up or when making sharp turns very loud vibrations ran throughout the back end of the ship. There is NO way you are going to wake up and find yourself dockside as the boat will wake you up well before you get there.
There was a noticeable right to left roll of the boat when in the cabin, but became used it in very little time, and when lying in bed at night when at sea it felt like one of those vibrating beds from the 60's, but again, got used to it in short time and slept well.
Being on the back of the ship though allows MUCH more use of the balcony when at sea. Wind was never an issue, and we were out on the balcony at least 1/2 of the time that we spent in the cabin. The balcony was large enough to seat three, a table and everyone was comfortable.
One other thing:
We are on deck 10, the deck directly below the aft dining/ buffet area on the 11th deck. We heard EVERY table and chair getting moved above our heads. Aft balcony is good, but I would suggest leaving a deck between you and the buffet seating deck. More than once we were woke up by someone dragging a chair across the floor on the 11th deck.
Other than the noise and vibrations (we didn't understand the engineering differences between ships) we have no complaints about the cabin. Read entire member review. |

The refurbished ship was excellent. The mini-suite that I spent the 15 days in was extremely nice. Spacious and the bathroom was excellent. A great deal of closet space and drawers. The balcony did flood easily if it rained. I have no general complaints about the cabin. Read entire member review. |

Cabin 1007 was practically perfect in every way, except that there was no direct walking route to the aft dining room. If we were to sail on the Norwegian Sun again, we would definitely ask for this cabin again. The full size tub was wonderful, loved the privacy of the WC, walk in closet was large enough so no clothes were crushed, quiet, near enough to elevators and close to pools. Great Bathroom and Wonderful closet. Great living space with a cabinet stocked with stemware sometimes, and refrigerator.
Loved the Balcony especially with the nice weather during the crossing.
Down the hall from the spa, but "no fumes" were noticed in the corridor or rooms.
Near the exercise room.
Location toward the front of the ship made the rocking motion of the ship more noticeable than locations at mid ship and at lower levels,
There was a "special" breakfast room for guests at the AE level, but the service, in general, for the special breakfast room was inadequate at best. We ended up eating in the Main Dining Room. Read entire member review. |

Our cabin was a mini-suite with a full bathtub and walk-in closet. There was loads of space for everything. It was like being at home. The balcony was large enough for three people to stand on with comfort. The only problem was that it was on the pool deck and you had to go around the spa in order to get to it. It was rather confusing to locate at first. Read entire member review. |

Cabin 8279, mini suite on the stern. Great cabin, wonderful complete bathroom with separate toilet. Huge tub and full shower. Sit down makeup area. Very large balcony. Great mattress and sheets. Only problem was some noise from Stardust Lounge from midnight to 3am. After complaints, the noise stopped. Shows end in the lounge at around 11pm, but the staff decided to do "sound checks" until 2:30 am. It only took one time of seeing a crazed sleepless nut (me) to stop this process. No further problems. Read entire member review. |

Mini-suite was very nice. Good balcony.
Only issues--other than maintenance-- was location under observation lounge and fact that they had a band playing until midnight and we heard the "bass" in our room. Not what we expected. Read entire member review. |
