My wife and two girls stayed in room 4195 which was on level 4 with french doors and an obstructed view. We could see a little between the life boats in this room. Having fresh air is a MUST for me when I cruise. I love to have the door open at night to hear the sounds and smell the air. The Spirit allows for this pretty cheaply with the obstructed view. You can't walk out on to anything, but you do get the fresh air. When researching I noticed that manly of Carnival's ships don't have this obstructed view. You can get a window down lower, but the window doesn't open. The room had the double twin beds pushed together with a Pullman style bed pulled down and the couch made up as a bed. My 13 and 12 year old daughters occupied these. There is PLENLY of enough storage room in the cabin. Between the two closets with hangers, the wardrobe thing, the drawers, and under the bed we had more than enough room. I should have brought additional hangers though. My three sons, 16, 15, and 15 were 2 doors down from us in two twin beds separated and a Pullman style bed above the couch. Room 4199 Two grandparents and a niece were on level 4 as well, but further down and had a balcony. The sister-in-law and another niece where farther down on the opposite side. They were in an accessible cabin. She had a scooter type wheelchair. This room was plenty wide enough at the front door and the bathroom door. There is extra room in the cabin and bathroom. She had a window that didn't open with an obstructed view as well. This was GREAT for her and allowed her to cruise. There are a very limited number of these rooms, PLEASE don't book one of these unless you really use the wheelchair to get around.  Read entire member review.

A bit too small but not tiny. Air-con not keeping air fresh at night so slept with french doors open. Shower was lovely. Cabin was quite quiet. Stewardess was lovely and room kept clean and tidy for us. Only one power point so taking a powerboard is a good idea.

Tasmania Cruising by AussieJLA
5144 twin share, bathroom very small, if you opened the wardrobe door the person in the bathroom could not get out. Door into cabin very narrow and so heavy, needed to use my should against it to open it. The balcony was great, restricted view but as the life boat was below you could see out easily. Air con in room very noisy, switched it to low, cabin crew attempted to fix it, the bathroom fan on all the times, very head ache material, this couldn't be switched off. TV was a shocker, nothing on, only one free movie, you had to pay for others, same old info about the ship replayed, very boring and substandard service. Plenty of wardrobe and drawer space for 2 people, couch made up into a bed, wouldn't want three people in the room, not big enough, but ok for two people on a 7 day cruise. Lots of light, the bathroom had a magnified make up mirror, that was good, aussie power points, hairdryer underpowered you would need your own if you had should length hair.Positioned by the lifts up to deck 9 at the front of the ship, very handy to everything.  Read entire member review.

Good location for those that are prone to sea sickness. The obstructed view was not bad as the boats were below us. Here's a picture from our room looking out: http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/s720x720/384046_10151239182210917_904860507_n.jpg Just look out, not down. Only the antennae from the lifeboat got in the way of a handful of pictures. We had 3 people in the room and while not spacious was definitely adequate.  Read entire member review.

Great value for a 7A - no real balcony obstruction from the lifeboats.  Try not to be in the cabins by the first three lifeboat tenders toward the bow.  Read entire member review.

Very good location.  Convenient to elevators, close to the middle of the ship.  No noise, balcony view good despite lifeboat.  Read entire member review.

Our cabin was in a very handy position on the starboard side between the main lifts near the Atrium and another four lifts towards the stern. The rear lifts lead directly to the dining room. We rarely had to wait for a lift at any time. The stateroom was a lot bigger that what we had experienced on Dawn Princess. The bed was very comfortable, no noise problems and effective curtains made for a good night's sleep. The nightly towel animal always caught our attention. The bathroom was again bigger than the Dawn's as was the storage space and the TV. A lot of information is available from the TV including my 3 favorites a Folio update, menu details and ships position. The balcony has two chairs and a table and provides a great view over a lifeboat that restricts a view of the sea below.  Read entire member review.

Love this cabin...It is close to the elevators but not too close for noise. Laundry is just down the hall & it also brings you to the Lido Deck Food area without much walking. It is towards the stern & halfway up so very balanced for those rougher sea days. Spacious & has a nice balcony with a good view.  Read entire member review.

A Mixed Bag by Kowcop

5239 - We had an obstructed balcony where the lifeboat comes up to the floor of the balcony, it wasn't a problem at all as you could sit and see straight out and it provided some shelter from the wind. With some of the rougher conditions we had it was quite nice not to see straight down.

Our room we had in October, 2011 was much larger and extravagant than the room we had on January, 2012. I believe in 2011 we had a Suite which I highly suggest that people purchase. The room for January, 2012 was good but with a child it was nice to have the bath tub plus the extra breathing space. October, 2011 Room Large and spacious, Mirrored bar and vast storage for water etc. Vanity area which was very spacious and that led to he Bathroom which could have been a room by itself. The bathroom was incredible....spacious and a jaccuzi tub. The closet space for the room was well utilized; however, probably more than what was needed but totally appreciated. The balcony was very very spacious with double doors leading out. The life boats were right below us, but I didn't mind. The Life Boats do not obstruct the view at all....only if you want to look directly down into the water. The rooms were well insulted as we could not hear anyone once the door was closed. 8th Level middle of the ship. Our steward - Jose....absolutely loved him. My son wanted to find him when we came back in January. He was the best. January, 2012 The room was a decent size, not as large as in October, 2011. It wasn't a suite, however, there was a balcony. The balcony was a decent size. If I had to choose, of course I would choose the room in October, 2011. There was not vanity area just a bathroom which was kind of small. But the bathroom was very nice and clean always. The shower was nice. We were on the 6th Floor towards the front of the ship. Our steward was Connie. She was so sweet and entertaining. Again, my son absolutely loved Ms. Connie.  Read entire member review.

,,,not so much.... by RedRider
Horrible, hard, ancient, double concave mattress requiring Advil for pain to even get any sleep - amazing! Great balcony, wonderfully efficient bathroom, good closet space, ancient tv. Good location.  Read entire member review.
