Accommodations include twin beds which make up into a queen-size bed, separate sitting room with sofa bed, a private balcony, two televisions, a refrigerator with a wet bar, a walk-in closet and a bath with tub and shower.
C748: Penthouse Suite. Plenty of storage, beautiful decor (blues and golds), 20 foot wide by 8+ foot deep balcony with teak table, 4 padded teak chairs and 4 teak loungers with cozy blankets. In-room jacuzzi (large), and separate marble shower. Mini-bar (complimentary at beginning of cruise), refrigerator, two televisions (flat screen), DVD player, the MOST COMFORTABLE bed of any cruise bed we have slept in. This room overlooks the wake at the back of the ship with panoramic views to left and right. The balcony is fully covered. Despite some threads that mention the "dreaded vent," we found that you could not hear the vent that was behind a partition to the left of the balcony because of the wake noise. In port you barely were aware of it, and it is NOT a problem (we forgot there was a vent there, and you can't see it). There is some slight vibration for a few moments when you come into port and the ship is positioning itself, but it is gone quickly. We loved this spacious cabin and would book it again in an instant! Read entire member review.
Great suite, bad location for pitching and or rolling seas. Great location for ports as it provides a good photography site. Attendant was very helpful and made our stay enjoyable. Plenty of storage space! Read entire member review.
S703 S5, CORSICA PENTHOUSE SUITE ! The suite was exactly what we have come to expect of Princess Cruise Lines. It was luxurious, roomy, clean, well appointed and oh so comfortable. The aft location didn't seem to make any difference.
However, there were a couple of items that were distractions. Those being: 1. The suite was on Deck 16 - Sun. Not the height but the elevators. Only two of the four aft elevators traversed past deck 14. It took for ever to get an elevator when you were on the 15th. 2. It seems that on Deck 16 just above the suites was a running track which for most of the time didn't matter. Except at 5:30 AM most mornings there was this "heavy footed buffalo" that liked to do his laps!
The starboard side suite was exactly what we like and the extra elevation was quite nice for viewing sights while in port. Even with the elevator issue, I would book the suite again if on the Golden Princess.
Deck 15 (Sun) S706, S708 and S710 - This is the second time we have stayed in these particular cabins. They use to be called "Penthouses" now I think they are just called "Suites". They are all basically the same layout - entrance has a small foyer area, then you move into the sitting area (couch two tables and a desk. Bar area (fully stocked), refrigerator (fully stocked), dvd player and flat screen TV. Next room is the bedroom (there is a curtain that can separate the living room (couch can be turned into a bed) with two nightstands and another desk. Also has a large closet (large for a ship) and a set of built in drawers. The bathroom has once entrance right off the foyer that leads to a separate area for sink and toilet. Other entrance is off of the bedroom and has access to the room with a shower and full bath and you can get in the toilet area from here as well.
All the cabins are in a very private/quiet area of the ship, right across from the Chapel, very little foot traffic and also very close to the end of the ship. If it is rough you will feel it a little more than say the middle of the ship, it was not bad in any way but some might not like it.
Since we had 3 cabins in a row, we always have the balcony doors open so that we have one huge balcony to share. S706 has a break in the balcony since the cabin to the right of it does not have a balcony. It is nice to have the break from the wind when whale watching if it gets cool. Individual balconies are very nice size with upgraded teak furniture, cushions and lap blankets. The balconies are covered.
All suites are able to order off the dining room menus and have it delivered to your room, get free laundry service, 150 minutes of free internet usage, fully stocked bar (2 small bottles of vodka, whiskey, scotch etc) fully stocked refrigerator (2 Dos Equis, 2 Cokes, 2 Sprites, 2 Perrier's, 2 bottle of water and 2 tonics), free corsages for first formal night, free canapes delivered to your room, free flower arrangement and a fresh fruit bowl. You can "swap out" your free bar set up. For example, one of our suites traded everything for vodka, one traded the liquor for Alaskan Amber Ale but kept everything else in the fridge and one traded everything for the Alaskan beer. You will have to call room service and schedule someone to come take care of this, it was worth it for us!
These penthouses are pure luxury and well worth the money. They have everything you could want and more perks than you could use. The bedroom is spacious, plenty of storage, gorgeous marble bathroom with separate shower and jetted tub, and even a curtain to separate the bedroom and sitting area so your child can sleep and you can stay up and watch a movie. The balcony is huge, with a table and chairs and two loungers. There are blankets to snuggle up with while you watch the views. There are no cabins above or below you so it is very peaceful and private. The Sun deck is up high, with the buffet just a flight of stairs below you to grab snacks. You can request whatever fruit or appetizers you would like delivered each day and borrow DVD's for the kids to watch. They even brought a chocolate chip cookie for my daughter each night. The service is first class. Our steward was Marvin and he was wonderful. These suites are the best way to bring a family for the ultimate Alaska experience. Read entire member review.
Being a penthouse suite there is very little negative infromation I can provide. The only thing is since the suite is on deck 15 and quite high the rolling with the ocean is also high Read entire member review.
These suites built during 2009 refit. Maintained in great condition. Spacious, lots of drawers & other storage. Quality finishes used, nice marble bath & separate shower, plus powder room. Stateroom has double entrance doors to reduce any passageway noise. Double width balcony. Really very nice accommodation. Cons: High rear location means more movement if you are prone to seasickness like me. Can sometimes hear slight noise from sports deck above. Neither was a significant problem.
The suites on the new deck 15 are just what my mom likes! I had S710 and she had S712 and my husband had S708. The balcony was huge, the bathrooms went on and on. The whole suite is new so it did not smell like smoke or other odors. There are mirrors everywhere. We were totally spoiled, it felt like an apartment. Read entire member review.
