Two lower beds convertible to 1 queen-size bed, bathtub & shower. All DD-category staterooms have a partial sea view. All HH-category staterooms have fully obstructed views. G and H cabins may have portholes instead of windows.
1871, outside cabin, mid-ship, with large window, on the Dolphin deck. Sufficient room; could easily move about. Great storage space in closets, drawers, and shelves; included in-room safe which held an amazing number of our valuable electronics (without cases). Larger than expected bathroom; always hot water for our long showers; very clean. Very comfortable beds; slept great, even with my bad back! Stewards kept the room very tidy; we couldn't be sloppy even if we were inclined to be so! No noise problems at our location. A few places down the hall had some noisy equipment behind closed doors near some rooms, but I don't know if those passengers could hear it or not.
2450, lots of noise from above, deck above is one of only two decks that offer full access to the ship. Some passengers insist on jogging on that deck even though it is marked "do not jog". Very noisy and distacting. Cabin itself was okay, nothing special. Read entire member review.
Good location except for the noise from the Queen's Lounge upstairs. Great access to the promenade. Plenty of closets and drawers. Window with obstructed view okay. Could have used better lighting (higher wattage bulbs) at the dressing mirror. Shower only NOT a shower/tub combo as advertised on HAL website for the HH staterooms. Read entire member review.
For this trip we decided to try an HH fully obstructed ocean view on the Lower Promenade deck. We chose HH3384 (instead of taking a chance on a guarantee) because we liked its location, close to both the aft and mid ship elevators/stairs and with quick access to the walking deck (the largest balcony on the ship). The cabin was small, but well laid out, though I think we lost a small amount of space due to this being a connecting cabin with HH3382. It was just fine for 2 people, with lots of storage space under the bed for our large suitcases (with carry-on packed inside) and plenty of space for all of our clothing, we even had bedside drawers (big enough for laptops) with keyed locks. There was a small love seat, which we never did sit on, but instead used to store our large camera backpacks. My only real complaint about this cabin was that we only had one awkwardly placed wall plug-in above the desk, that when used with a camera charger would turn on and off the lights, due to the charger hitting the adjacent switch. I think it would have been nice to have another plug-in somewhere, near the bed perhaps (we did look but didn't find one). **A word of warning for those considering this cabin (or adjacent cabins), we did experience noise from the main galley overhead, which usually stopped by midnight and started again around 5am, overall it really didn't bother us, but it could be a problem for some.** Read entire member review.
We chose the HH category for the value and we were not disappointed. The stateroom is relatively spacious with a nice sized bathroom and plenty of storage. There is noise from the galley, but we did not find it disturbing. Usually it stopped by 10:30 p.m. Read entire member review.
This room was immediately below the dining room kitchen. Every other night, the staff would start rolling furniture and dropping heavy items onto the floor, directly above our head. After the first night, when we complained to the front office, they called the kitchen and the noise quieted down. Two nights later, when it began again, we called and again it lessened. After another night, the staff cheerfully found another room for us and moved us. Read entire member review.
Adequate room with lots of storage. Close to outside viewing. Only gentle rocking when the bow was making our friends queasy. You can hear muffled engine noise when steerage changes but, it is not disturbing. Read entire member review.
The cabin: 7055, a DD partial ocean-view. The window looked directly astern over a small public deck. I thought it had an awkward layout, half the sofa was in a narrow alcove that made it unusable. It was only a few steps away from the door (marked emergency exit but we used it anyway) to a deck overlooking the wake, large enough for 6 or 8 deck chairs. The outside stairs to the pool/lido deck minimally blocked our window. The window was large and had one-way glass so we had perfect privacy. We didn't use the deck much, it was too cool on sea days for deck sitting, but it was lovely to stand there out of the wind and watch the wake. Not many people seemed to use it, but a couple of smokers found it and they were out there much of the time, so I tended to not go out there. The cabin is under the outdoor pool, and the noise from the pool pumps was constant and loud. It was very steady, and soon became a background white noise. Once or twice we had noise at night when the furniture around the pool was being moved. The cabin was very clean and comfortable, more storage than we needed and a roomier shower than I've had on other lines. Shower gel, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, shower cap, and lotion all supplied, also two hairdryers. There was only ONE electrical outlet in the cabin, at the desk. A 4 space power strip was supplied. No outlets in the bathroom. Read entire member review.
Cabin 7056 is very small and noisy. You hear a lot of noise from the doors which are just outside your room as well as the staff hose down the deck (outside your window) every morning between 5 & 5:30. Personally I don't think it's suitable for two people. Read entire member review.
HH with "partially obstructed" view on the lower promenade deck. Small but liveable. A few cabins away from the very back of the ship. We thought it would be horrible, but it turned out to be a great location. A few feet and you're on the back promenade deck with tables and chairs. Nearest elevators go straight to the dining room and library/coffee bar. The engines are midship, so no engine noise, and not a rocky ride in the least. We weren't disturbed by the partially obstructed part, since we could see out fine and you don't sit in your room to look at the scenery with those great deck chairs right outside your door.
