Great Cruise & Tours by tonismail@sbcglobal.net
Mold in shower and on shower curtain. Bedside lamps need to be replace. Good balcony.  Read entire member review.

Cabin and balcony were dirty. Carpet was faded and threadbare in places. Limited storage by comparison to similar categories on other cruise lines. Stateroom attendant not friendly or responsive.

The kitchen vented into the stateroom's heating and cooling system. All day, everyday, we smelled food and garlic. Our clothes smelled of food. The stateroom is also smaller than the average Aqua Class room. There was a smaller sofa instead of the larger, leather Aqua Class sofa. On our previous Celebrity cruise, we received an upgraded tote bag. When I asked Guest Relations for the tote bag on this cruise, she told us Aqua Class no longer gets the tote, only Concierge Class (but Concierge Class fares are lower...go figure!). Also Concierge Class gets a separate check in lounge (again, they pay a lower fare!)

We were in AQUA Class cabin 1111 on Deck 11, port side. Since it was one of the new cabins added to the ship during the refurbishment, everything in the room was in immaculate shape and in good working order. There was plenty of storage in the closet, nightstands and desk. The enhanced showerhead was a plus but there is definitely a design flaw with the shower door that allows water to leak onto the floor. We had to place a rolled up hand towel under the door to catch the water so that it would not soak the bath mat. The balcony was a good size and the nylon mesh chairs were very comfortable. Be aware that there is little protection from the elements on the Deck 11 port and starboard balconys since the Deck 12 overhand is very small and if it rains it will get wet. Passengers up on Deck 12 cannot look down on the balcony of this cabin. Sound proofing was excellent and we did not hear any of our neighbors. A plus to a Deck 11 cabin is that you have quick access through a set of stairs at the end of the hallway that leads down to the aft Mast Bar and the buffet area on Deck 10 or in the other direction to the pool and spa area. You can smell food smells from the buffet area in the hallway but it did not penetrate into the cabin.  Read entire member review.

AQ 1141 was very basic. Nothing special at all. It was hard to believe it was Aquaclass. There was a orange sheer curtain, red sofa, strange bed rails and boring bland walls. The bathroom did have the Hansgrohe showerhead and a glass door for the shower. The best thing about the room was the location overlooking the wake. However this was also a negative as they still allowed smoking on the terrace below on Deck 10 and the smell of smoke especially while touring Halong Bay was quite annoying.  Read entire member review.

Has one of the larger balconies that overlooks the restaurant deck below. Its on the port side and we constantly had the smell of cigarette smoke on our balcony.  Read entire member review.

Beautiful Ship by labwiz
Our cabin was right next to the crew cabin. We were too tired and conked out every night and we did not hear much noise. Our cabin was spacious and clean. We had to ask for shampoo and soap as needed. They did not give us a basket of goodies like on the Carnival. In addition, the toilettries are Made in China compared to Elemis brand on the Carnival.  Read entire member review.

Kids Loved Alaska by tuxedopark
Our cabins were very close to the front elevators, which was a plus. The only draw back is that we were in the front of the ship and most of the activities, pool, kids program, restaurants, etc. were in the back of the ship. I loved the windows--they were so big.  Read entire member review.

Cabin - clean, one queen and two twins that pulled down from the ceiling. Our boys are 11 & 14 and thought that was cool. Comfortable beds and pillows. The room attendant (Helio) was very friendly, cleaned the room twice a day, made the beds or turned them down each evening. We asked for bucket of ice the first day and never had to ask again, he had ice for us each morning and evening. He transformed the towels each night into animals and provided fruit and snacks each day. Our cabine was level two with a large port window.

Good room -- probably no better or worse than any other ocean view cabin on the ship. We were concerned about the proximity to the theatre but we never heard any of the shows or entertainment from our room. On the upside, the room is at the end of the hall so there isn't any foot traffic or noise coming from the hallway. On the downside, it is across from a couple employee doors, behind which it was apparent that smoking was taking place. There was a slight smell of stale smoke in that section of the hallway but no trace of it in the room itself.

Room was clean and comfortable. The room wasn't huge, but we didn't expect it to be. We spent very little time in the room so the size didn't bother us too much. Very quiet. Close to the theater. Husband and I never experienced any motion sickness. Our room Steward, Lewis, took great care of us.

The cabin was in a good location, quiet and not too far from the elevators. We were on deck 3 not far from the Lobby where the Guest Relations and Excursions desk were. We had really good stewards taking care of our cabin.

Large window, very nice for viewing the wildlife in the water. Room was very quite. There was a large party in the atrium area with the party band playing. I don't know what they did, but you could not hear anything from it in the hallway our room was on. There are no cabins across the hall from this section of rooms. The location is not frequently used as a travel path by passengers. It is very near the stairs and elevator, but I did not hear any noise from it. Being on deck 3 was very convenient at ports. We will stay in this room or in the same hallway again.

Not that great by ruggkatz

Room was great and the balcony was actually bigger than normal balconies. But the people in the normal balcony above us could look right down and see us easily. But it's way up front in the ship so in heavy seas I don't know.

Cabin was one of the "sweet 16" towards the fore of the ship, which have an extra long balcony. We used this quite often, even when it was chilly, because we were able to view Whales and Dolphins. Pure magic!
Only problem was the long walk from the front of the ship to the dining in the back, but at least we got some much-needed exercise!

We had 6038, 6040, 6042 and the ajustant on the portside. Next to the elevator. Was good location to reach everything very easy. But door of theater might occur loud noises when they close the steel door.

We were lucky to secure a Hump Cabin within Aqua Class meaning we had a slightly larger balcony in a room that sat directly below the Aqua Spa cafe / Solarium. It was a great room with no noise disturbances. Having sailed on both the Equinox and Solstice we were interested to see how comparable the retro-fit ships were to the actual Solstice builds. We are pleased to report that the cabins look virtually the same with the exception of the missing overhead storage typically above the bed however; there was no lack of storage space without it (with 6 suitcases packed I put the storage space to the test!).  Read entire member review.

Great closet, small balcony, and a bright light shining directly at the cabin outside made it impossible to see anything outside at night. Dirty bathroom and overworked stretched thin housekeeping staff.  Read entire member review.

A great cruise by kerieblue

this was an exceptionally well located cabin. near the Apple I-lounge and central to all locations. a good size cabin but we did not have the balcony open at any time as the weather did not permit at this time of the year
the room steward put the sofa bed away each morning and made it up every evening which gave us sufficient room in the cabin when we were there

Fantastic accommodation, the only downside was with the cold weather on the crossing we could not truly enjoy the large deck and spa.

The suite is spacious, clean, and well-appointed. Plenty of drawer and cupboard space. Huge drawback is the lack of electrical outlets (North American). There are only three, and none of them are in the bathroom. Also, you are not permitted to use a power strip for additional outlets. This is something Celebrity really need to look at. In today's high tech world, you need more than 3 plugs.

EXcellent cruise by FeelingCruisy

What's not to like? Seriously, I was reading unsatisfied customers in 6141, and some other Royal Suites. I just don't get it! We were treated really well (of course you need to take care of your butler and cleaners just the same). Everything we wanted we got, and more. The room is NOT noisy as reviewed by someone earlier. The balcony was huge and people on the top can see us, but really, who cares. In fact we made a lot of friends that way. The jacuzzi outdoor was so much fun, although part of it can be seen by people from the 10th floor buffet restaurant. Again, it did not bother me one bit. Who cares really. The bubbles covers everything. Bubbles, I love bubbles! I used it almost daily outside, it was cold, it was fun! The jacuzzi in the bathroom was fun too.
Love the double sink. I can wash my socks in one and rinse in another.
One complaint - who on earth needs so much storage space!!! Better to remove all the closets and make the room even bigger. Like we need any more space than we already have!

Worst Cruise by henchoy

The cabin size is spacious with a lot of cabinets. The cabin attendant was careless in doing his job. He did not refill shampoo bottle when empty. He only provide one bathing soap for 2 persons in the cabin for the entire cruise. He even left a cleaning spray bottle on the floor outside the washroom one evening.

Cabin 7031...do not book this room unless they fix the problems. When we boarded we noticed the balcony door did not completely. The wind whistled and kept me awake. My husband slept OK, until one night the wind was up and the whistling became piercing shreiks through the cracks, then he was awakened and became just as annoyed as I was. We left a note for the steward, but I doubt he could do anything...the door appeared to be bent. The balcony was always wet because all the rain water from the cabins on either side drained into our balcony. We were in a low spot. I don't just mean a little wet, the water was sloshing under our deck chairs!  Read entire member review.

On this cruise we had 2 cabins as this was a back to back cruise.  7 days to Alaska and 7 days back to Vancouver.  Both cabins were insides on the Millenium. 7054 and 2080.  Both are adequate in size and space.  Both however, are begining to show there age.  Chips out of mirrors, scrathches on bathroom porcelin and general wear and tear.  TV in 7054 needs replacing.  7054 is a very quiet cabin, 2080 can be quite noisy as you can hear water travelling through pipes and general mechanical clatter.  Otherwise not too much else to report.  Read entire member review.

We were towards the aft. Because we were sailing on smooth waters of the Inside Passage, you did not feel the up and down as you might on the open seas. The only time was on the last day when we were on the open seas with good size waves. Don't think about the rocking and the ups and downs. I just kept my stomach full and thought I was on an amusement ride. Plus, with all the things to do, you don't even think about it.  Read entire member review.

We had a balcony stateroom with double sized balcony. The room was tastefully decorated with ample storage and was spotlessly clean. The bathroom was larger than those experienced on other lines and was well stocked. The room was a highlight of the cruise and was very nice.
Unlike other cruises though, we barely set eyes on our stateroom attendant - we missed the rapport that we generally build with them. Another disappointment was that there were no towel animals whatsoever! (Obviously this is seen as too common for a 5 star line....)

Quite small, but manageable. We had a chance to see an inside cabin and now that we have seen one, we would not even consider it. Even though our balcony was small, that is the only way to go. We were conveniently located to everything we needed. The soundproofing was fantastic. We could not hear anything outside of our cabin.  Read entire member review.

I think deck 8 is better than Deck 9 because you have a big overhand right above you and makes it difficult to keep the overhand out of your photos. i would pick deck 8 next time.

Overall great cabin:

Pros - easy to get anywhere you need to go. Love aqua class and dining in Blu is nice.

Only downsides were that the balcony was smaller than I had on past ships and that we occasionally heard shuffling of chairs above. For cold Alaska, it was not a big deal. It might be in a warm weather climate though since pool deck is directly above.

note: there are poles that support the deck above. View is still great but photos will need to be taken straight on, versus diagonal from the balcony.

9060

This cabin was on deck 9, right beneath the pool deck, which overhangs this cabin and others by about 10-12 feet. There are also support beams angling off the deck above, which occur every other cabin. I would consider this an obstructed view, especially on an Alaskan cruise where you want to be able to see the mountains. Even to see the sky, you had to leave your cabin and go to a common area. The noise from the pool deck above us was also an issue, especially early in the morning.

Room 7191, Concerige balcony. Room was great. Quiet, which is important to me. Seas were calm, so I don't know how it would have been in rough seas. Cabin staff were tops; couldn't have asked for better. I didn't have a lot of request, but when I did ask for any extra ice, and orange juice and glasses for several people, the request was quickly done. I don't have anything negative to say about the room.  Read entire member review.

Cabin 7019: forward. Good, quiet location, tiny bathroom, terrible linens and mold in bathroom shower. If I had checked into this room at a hotel, I would have asked for another room or checked out. Bad linens were the culprit: stained bed skirt; dirty curtains covering the sliding glass door; mildewy, moldy shower curtain; robes I wouldn't touch, never mind wear; pillows like hay bales. Enough closet space and bed was comfortable.  Read entire member review.

Decided to go with Celebrity since we had a very good experience cruising on the Solstice and the itinerary didn't hurt either. We paid $899 for a veranda room on the 6th floor right above the theatre. For those of you who want peace and quiet, do not stay on this floor towards the front of the ship. If you are in your room during a show, you will definitely hear and feel the music downstairs. My expectations was higher this time around since we came off a Celebrity Solstice ship a few years ago, so I thought that the same quality would translate onto the Millennium. I know that this ship was built in 2000, but I read that it just had a dry dock renovation last year. When I opened the door, the room felt a little smaller than my room on the Solstice. No biggie as I know that rooms do not have very much real estate. The veranda that we had was almost the size of the room. No complaints there. The bathroom was a standard size, but it did have a full shower. It was bigger than the Solstice. But I did notice some mold and the floor definitely looked dated. That disappointed me there since I thought this ship was dry docked the previous year. I guess they just upgraded the public areas and not the private ones. One thing that really bothered me and it's not just with this ship but with hotels also is that why would you put in a hi def TV and not have shows in 1080?? I know it's a petty complaint, but I just feel like it's a waste for them not to provide this. Ok, back to the ship. The public areas are very nice and I don't have any complaints with that. I do wish that there were more specialty restaurants to choose from on this ship. They only had a total of 2 with a creperie that charges $5 for unlimited gourmet crepes. The Olympic has 2 styles of dining. You can choose the $45 option with a 3 course menu. Or you can choose the 5 senses option for $89. Here, you get 6 courses and each course is paired with a glass of wine to enhance your dining experience. We didn't like what they had to offer for the main entree, so we swapped it our for Chateaubriand. The 5 senses will take you about 2.5 to 3 hours, so make sure you don't have anything planned within this time slot. We were so full after the 3rd/4th course but had to power through it. Mistake we made was that we indulged in the bread. Big no no if you are going to go with this option. We didn't try the other specialty restaurant as it didn't look very appetizing. It looked more like tapas for $45. We didn't see anything on the menu that we would like to try.
The main dining area is small and cramped. The tables and chairs was placed close to other tables. At times, it was difficult for wheelchairs to make their way through. The overall food was good, but not as good as the Solstice. The first formal dining was on the 3rd day and the 2nd formal dining was two days before the end of the cruise. The 2nd formal dining is where they server lobster tails. So if you want lobster, this is the night for you. The entertainment was not really up to par with the Solstice. The singers were not that good. The male singers actually came off sounding more annoying than anything. I only caught the first show and skipped the rest as they weren't good. We missed the comedy show because we were stuck in the Olympic eating. We did catch the Magician Justino. His show was ok. Nothing that wasn't done before. And he came off being more cheesy than entertaining. But this was better then sitting through all that singing and dancing. The cruise director Stewart was not bad. Nothing about him really stood out. The one thing I have to give props for are the staff. They were very courteous and professional. Satisfying our every need. All of the cruises I've been on, the staff has always been the true stars. I probably will not want cruise on the Millennium again as I was underwhelmed with the entertainment and activities and dining options.

The Cabin: Really nice layout; great storage; very functional; Consider where you are though...I had cabins below and could hear every bass note from the Theater I was on Deck 7, Cabins above and below. Just as I laid my head on my pillow, they started a rehearsal of the show that night. Almost shook me out of my bed...those poor folks on Deck 6. This is the only complaint I had and I worked through it. I am very picky in selecting my cabin. Several years ago I was on a 10 day cruise on the Splendor of the Seas....Under the Ping Pong Table. 10 days of hell! So I try to choose a deck sandwiched by other cabin decks...not good enough here. Any time there was something going on in the Theater...I heard it loud and clear. Cabin 7028. It was very forward but I thought cabins under me would protect me...not so! There was still enough quiet time for my nap though.  Read entire member review.

our room was in a nice spot. It was just close to & far enough from main areas of passengers, lifts, stairs etc. Originally ordered twin beds, but told on day of embarkation that is was impossible to do so because of layout of room. Room Staff were very attentive & pleasant. Room generally was OK, but out dated, since the ship itself was so old.
