Some engine noise was heard at certain points during the cruise from our aft seaboard side cabin.  Read entire member review.
Voyager was worth the wait!! by Pistol Packin Mama
Our cabin #1388 was on deck 10, and was wonderful. I've been addicted to aft balconies, but never had a corner aft. As I said, I picked my room early when I booked so had lots of choices. After looking at the deck plans, I decided on the corner aft. I even had a pole at the end of the bed in case I wanted to practice my pole dancing, or as my DH said, it was a great place to hang on to while you are getting out of bed. The balcony was very big, not as big as aft wraps, but you could have either sun or shade. We were below the Island Grille, but never heard any noise coming from there, nor did we have any stuff on our balcony. Guess we were the highest deck with cabins. Felt the prop problem every once in a while, but it didn't bother us. Did have some smokers nearby, but I guess you could have that on any balcony. The room was huge with lots of space, it even had its own little hallway in front of the door, which gave you even more privacy. You could prop your door open if you were expecting friends or room service and still have privacy. You really don't get too much noise in aft cabins, because no one walks by that isn't staying there. I mentioned that I don't travel light, and I did find that the closet space was small, for such a big room, compared to other ships I've been on. Loved the fact that you didn't have to be attacked by the shower curtain, but had nice sliding doors in the shower. Suitcases did fit nicely under the bed. The room had a couch and a chair so there was plenty of seating without sitting on the bed. No flat screen yet, but cable worked well. We couldn't have picked a better room and it was a D1 when we booked, but now I think they have moved it into a higher catagory. It was a great place to spend the week.  Read entire member review.

This was a great location, hallway dead-ends at a door to the bridge, so no thru traffic. Close to the elevator and stairs, with the pool deck and fitness center just one flight up.  Read entire member review.
We were on Deck 10 at the aft Room 1668. You could feel vibrations at times and sometimes could feel some movement of the ship but barely noticeable - i loved the view from the higher decks - great view from balcony - perfect amount of space - lots of storage for a smaller space!!  Read entire member review.
Very spacious, plenty of storage, very quiet because of location, very firm bed (not necessarily a good thing)  Read entire member review.
Huge room for a standard balcony price. Nice large balcony with a view of the sky above. If you stand at the rail, you are visible from the buffet above. No noise from above. Some rattling from being way at the back. Long walk to cabin.  Read entire member review.

Giant room - JS sized for the D1 price! Wonderful balcony. Long walk to elevators/stairs  Read entire member review.

Our room was more than adequate. This was our first cruise and we chose not to "over extend" ourselves financially in case we didn't like it. As it turned out, this room was very suitable for us especially as the weather was not always warm and a balcony would have been under used.

The window gave a good view in all weathers and the room was in a quiet position on Deck 2.

6236 had a the usual bed configuration, at the window and balcony. There was a large couch. The fridge was really only a cooler. Shower with a shower stall. It was in good condition. The balcony had a solid steel wall on one side and the glass partition on the other.  Read entire member review.
a different view by leprechaun2
The bed was up against the balcony door! Had to squeeze through a tiny space to get outside. Surely some other arrangement could be made.  Read entire member review.
noisy engine, bigger balcony, constant swaying  Read entire member review.
Bed comfortable;pillows and mattress was good; balcony great with excellent view; bathroom had mould in shower and on the rubber in the doors; cabin was comfortable with three adults; fridge in cabin I would not call a fridge as it was not cold.  Read entire member review.
The adjoining room was not a good situation. We could hear the children in the next room.  Read entire member review.
Hall was noise last at night Staff not good at looking after our room a d requests Sewer smell on balcony when ship at port or slow speed and right wid direction  Read entire member review.
Our Cabin was tight on space, we weren't in there a lot so didn't really matter, but trying to get ready for the formal nights was problems. shower was the right size as long as you don't drop anything!! so funny when you do and bang your head off the wall which bounces you off the doors banging you back into the wall!! oh such fun :) the towels they provide are small, i use that size at home as hair towels, but on the ship they are bath towels lol lol loads of places to store things. interactive TV a great thing; you can give yourself a heart attach each night when you see how much you've spent!! :) but excellent idea.  Read entire member review.
We were in cabin 7296. It was in the middle of the ship, right near the library. There was never a problem with noise of any kind. I think it was a good choice to have a balcony on the starboard side of the ship for viewing. The cabin was a perfect size for my wife and I.  Read entire member review.
Good area for a cabin, relatively quiet hallway, good balcony location, bad television.  Read entire member review.
Room was ok and had everything needed. In my opinion it needs a little updating but is fine for the time spent onboard.  Read entire member review.
Great view and no noise. Mattress was 100% better than the one I had on Celebrity a couple years back. However, the cabin does look worn. Carpet shows use and the love seat was covered in a black grime. Bedding was clean, but there were tears. Grout in bathroom tile needs to be replaced. Safe would have to be reset daily as it would open and refuse to lock.  Read entire member review.
Great balcony, and the location is perfect since it was easy to get to the stairs/elevators going to dining areas. Also, it was quiet.  Read entire member review.

Decor is dated. LOTS of mauve (can you say 1990's) all over the ship especially in the hallways.  Read entire member review.
Impeccable Service by Galveston Cruiser
We find the cabin very comfortable, enjoy the privacy on the balcony as we have seen other RCI ships with frosted Plexiglas dividers. Have no complaints about cabin as we feel it is our home away from home. Storage is more than adequate, plenty of hangars and shelving. Wish you would go with a flat screen TV in the future.  Read entire member review.
D1-Cabin 8516: Our balcony room was near the front of the ship and a very good size for the 3 of us. We wanted a room that would be convenient to get to the pizza and cookies in the Promenade cafe'. Shon eats many, many, many, many cookies every day on the cruises so this was most important. Anyway, the couch pulled out to a queen sized bed and it was not nearly as cramped as I had imagined it would be. Since this was the first time that we'd cruised with more than 2 in a cabin, we were worried. The decor was nice, teh storage good, the bed a bit hard but the blanket great. I was unhappy with the balcony, I must say. There were serious rust stains on the floor and in some of the corners. Also, beacause of where the balcony is, there is a strange grill looking thing(step-plate I guess??) above the balcony. This wasn't a huge issue but I wouldn't have booked this particular balcony if I had known about it.  Read entire member review.
8658 Great - plenty of room for 4 - good size balcony  Read entire member review.
Lots of storage space, huge balcony with lots of privacy. Very quiet unless your balcony neighbors are partying on their balcony to the left. Carpeting and chair upholstery need to be redone as they look dirty. Bathroom good size. But all for naught if you don't like breathing second-hand cigarette smoke because your neighbors can ruin the balcony experience for you because they can and do smoke there a lot.  Read entire member review.
Our cabin was great, the balcony was the largest I have seen, nearly 3m x 3m, but was a long way from the stairs and elevators.  Read entire member review.

A really good cabin that was modern, light, spotlessly-clean, with mini fridge, TV, plenty of drawers, sufficient hanging space, nice bathroom, and a very attentive room-steward who really attended to our every need and was super-courteous and nice. The one thing missing was mini bathroom accessories and bathrobes.

Typical balcony room. No problem with noise, convenient location to forward elevators making it easy to run down the Cafe Promenade for pizza, drinks, desserts, and cookies. It was a long walk to the aft when going to Windjammer, main dining room, or the pool(unless you cut through the adult Solarium). View was great and could even see people on the bridge sometimes.  Read entire member review.

Our balcony cabin appeared a little smaller than on some other ships but similar to some. There was new carpet, new doors on the cupboards, new curtains, a new sofa and new outdoor chairs and table on the balcony. The doona cover was old and damaged but the fabric strip on top appeared new. There was only 2 cakes of soap and a body wash dispenser in the shower. No other toiletries were supplied. The cupboards were small and poorly designed so that we ended up never unpacking our suitcase. - just left it open on the sofa. The bar fridge in our room worked fine although it was often stocked with the wrong things and the snacks we were supposed to have never showed up. The jug was a good idea but as others have said there was no coffee or milk only tea. My partner bought a small jar of good quality instant in Darwin to use for the rest of the cruise (milk wasn't an issue as he drinks it black). The TV worked OK but reception was poor and the stations available pretty woeful. Once we got to Darwin we could get some Australian channels but infuriatingly just as you got to the important bit of a show the signal would fail and would usually only come back as the end credits of the show were running. Also, the only free movies to watch were kids ones after we lost the free old black and white movie channel about 3 days into the cruise. As we often like to relax in our cabin in the afternoons and watch a movie at the same time we found this a little disappointing. Most of the movies shown in the main theatre in the afternoons and evenings were also mainly kids movies or you could watch some very old movies near the pool if you could cope with the noise and the weather. We did enjoy the 3D Penguins of Madagascar movie in the theatre (which was very popular with both adults and children) although I thought it really wouldn't have made much difference if it was shown in 2D instead.
Our cabin steward and his assistant were excellent, helpful, friendly and professional. Equal to the best we have had.

D1 level cabin was a bit disappointing...turns out that ours was a bit smaller than normal. Cabin service was okay...again had the wrong age for our daughter so she got the wrong Kids' Programme until we straightened that out...and had to ask for the towel animals which we've always enjoyed. We found lots of evidence of previous occupants...nothing gross, but clearly there wasn't much of an effort to get the cabin in tip-top shape.  Read entire member review.
Having a balcony is wonderful due to the compacted room however, due to us only spending showering and sleeping time in the room I cannot complaint too much however it would have been nice to have a bigger room  Read entire member review.
A Visit to Down Under by philcruiser2013
Aft, balcony cabin with plenty of room. The largest stateroom we have had of any cruise line. It was described as a Superior Oceanview Balcony and we intentionally picked an aft location for privacy, the ability to keep our balcony door open, and to keep away from any smokers.  Read entire member review.
We had no issues with the cabin, balcony Deck #10. Only item, shower was very tight, the balcony had room for 2 chairs and a small table.  Read entire member review.

cabin needed redecorating as it had dirty, stained carpet and sofa. The TV was good however.  Read entire member review.
