Balcony was the perfect size to be able to enjoy. Smaller balconies were just bigger then the furniture and would have been cramped. Choose an even number, starboard side, because you will be facing away from the dock in Long Beach and Ensenada, but you will be able to see Avalon when off the coast of Catalina.

Grand Suite, Nothing Grand About it, do not waste your money. Book cheap and adjust on the state rooms.  Read entire member review.

S-1 on Deck 12 - This is one of the "Owner Suites" that they don't actually show on any booking page. Apparently they call people who have booked the GS rooms to offer one of these to them for an additional cost. The room was large, nicely furnished, but a little out of date. The jetted tub took forever to fill up since they had a small faucet for it. The shower was also in the tub, not in a separate enclosure even though there was room for it. There were multiple stains on the carpet and the chairs had some wear. The large balcony had two lounge chairs and two straight back chairs but had a life boat right below it so you did not get a clear view down to the ocean. However, it was still very relaxing. The main complaint about this room would be the noise from both the deck above and the atrium. The joggers could definitely be heard as they went around the track, some louder than others. That wasn't as bad as when people would scrape the deck chairs that are also on the deck above. Thankfully this didn't happen at night and only started at about 6am for the jogging. I had brought ear plugs anyways since my husband snores so I only heard the noises after I removed them and slept through them. The atrium noises come right up through the suite door and you can hear everything in the living area. If you had people staying with you and they were sleeping in the living area, they'll ant to bring ear plugs as well. However, the noise did not carry into the bedroom, even with the door open.  Read entire member review.

We upgraded to a Grand Suite, Cabin U84, on the ship's port side. At first we were taken aback by the pole right next to the bed. We worried that it would be in the way when getting up at night. But we got used to it in a couple of minutes and it was no problem. The cabin was wonderful. The large balcony had a totally unobstructed 180-degree view when standing. However, we cannot stand longer than a few minutes. The balcony chairs were very comfortable and we enjoyed sitting on the balcony even though that view was blocked by the 3' high solid metal railing. Transparent fiberglass below the rail would have been nicer, but the solid railing certainly didn't spoil a moment of our enjoyment.  Read entire member review.

Inspiration not Inspiring by SoCalTraveler
We were in U98, one of the few balcony cabins on this ship. The cabin has no heat, a consideration since night time temperatures were in the 30s. There is a large pole in the middle of these rooms, too big for pole dancing, large enough that you will run into it in the dark. Only one phon, but phone service is poor, so no matter. The safe requires use of a credit card, something that you don't want to carry to the pool. Moreover, if guest 1 locks the safe, guest 2 can't open it even if you share a credit card account. Ample closet and storage space (but cheaply made), but weird hangar system. Bathroom has Jacuzzi tub, a plus, which is big enough for two 5 year olds. Flat screen TV with poor reception. Bed very comfortable. Bath amenities not replenished, even if you ask.  Read entire member review.
