Clean, functional, but a little tight with three people. The shower was minute - much smaller than what we had on Celebrity. The balcony was fine. The cabin steward did a great job keeping the room clean and ready for us. Read entire member review >>
Cabin was fine. Enough storage space, even for 14 days. Little extra room on the balcony was great - never felt crowded. Location - right near the Centrum - was excellent. It as a quick trip anywhere on the ship. Read entire member review >>
Nice cabin with lots of wardrobe space. spacious cabin which was attended to by cabin staff twice a day. Although this was never intrusive as they always managed to time the visits while you are out of the cabin. The evening visit always meant a full itinerary was left for the following days activities. Having cruised before we knew what we were getting with a stateroom on a cruise ship. We were a family of 3 including a 15 year old boy.
The only disappointment with the cabin had to do with the pullout couch. When we made our reservation we were told we could not request a bunk - that the cruiseline would determine whether it was a bunk or a pullout.
We were disappointed that we ended up with a pullout couch. When the pull out bed was open, there was barely 6 inches of space to walk. Also the bed appeared to be "square" and on the short side. It didn't seem to matter how he slept on the bed, our son was always hanging off.
On the positive side, the room was convenient to the Centrum (yet far enough away to not hear any of the noise).
The balcony was terrific with privacy. Read entire member review >>
We had a hump balcony cabin, 9582. We chose starboard side for the sail-in to Venice; this was a perfect spot for that. We often sail on the hump, and were surprised the music seemed loud when we were trying to sleep – then realized we often stay out late, and the music is done when we return to our cabin, but with the long, full days we tried to get to bed early.
The cabin was in quite good shape, especially thinking about the age of the ship. The only thing lacking for me is USB charging ports, and electrical outlets by the nightstand. Read entire member review >>
Had staterooms 7676 and 7668 both with balconies for our family of 4 adults. Our rooms were fantastic! SO glad we didn’t cram 4 ppl in one room!!! 7676 is bigger, with king bed, full size sofa and back balcony which accommodates 2 recliners and small table. 7668 slightly smaller; has king bed, single chair that converts to bed and optional pull down bed hidden in ceiling directly above main bed. Technically accommodates 4; can't imagine how crowded it would be!! Bathrooms are TINY but get the job done! Showers are TINY but great water pressure and adjustable and handheld shower heads. We chose a D-1 Balcony Cabin.....#9558 King bed, nice couch, plenty of drawers and closet space. Bathroom was small (we expected that) but adequate and surprisingly plenty of storage for toilet articles. Balcony had 2 chairs and a small table......adequate to sit and have coffee or just relax in the sun.
We came on this cruise as a time to rest and reconnect.....and that we did. We found this cabin to be perfect for our needs. Read entire member review >>
The aft balcony is HUGE. We had two reclining deck chaises plus a deck chair and a small table and had room to spare. The balcony probably measured 10' wide by 15' deep. Very secluded (nude sunbathing!). Awesome, awesome! Absolutely loved lounging on the chaise and watching the place we just visited disappearing behind us while sipping a cocktail. The room seemed much larger than the usual cruise room--there is a fold out sofa (not a loveseat) and ample storage (I'm sure the room is at lease 5' longer than the standard cabins in this category. The only downside to this room is the hallway to get there : that is the longest hallway ever! No short cuts. Read entire member review >>
When I sail on Radiance ships, I also try and get this or similiar corner afts. It had an awesome wrap-a-rounds balcony. It easy fits two lounges, two chairs and a table. Love it. What we didn't love was there was quite a sewer smell on many days and one day the cabin across the way, had some type of overspill. ick. Some may not like the long walk, but I considered it mandatory exercise and was happy to have that long walk, so I could enjoy my meals without feeling too guilty. Read entire member review >>
Cabin D1 9574, plenty of room for two people, lots of storage. Everything worked great no problems, no real signs of wear on anything. Two chairs and a table large enough to have a meal on out on the balcony. The cabin is right near the Centrum, very little noise from the events there at night, and easy to get around the ship. Since it is the first cabin next to a hump cabin, your neighbors to the right can see most of your balcony from theirs. It might work very well if you are traveling with others. My cabin was nice with more storage than a comparable room on Freedom of the Seas. My cabin attendant was vey nice and did a great job. The balcony was very large however there was little or no privacy on it due to its design. Balconies on the other deck were smaller but more private.
The room was very quiet and close to elevators making it easy to get around. I did think that the bed in my cabin could be replaced it was ok but not real comfortable. During the cruise I received a note that they were going to replace the carpet in my cabin but I asked them to reschedule as I planned to remain on the ship most of the port day in Cozumel.
I had one small problem with the toilet but it was correct within 15 minutes and I had no further issues. Read entire member review >>
If you like to sleep, strongly avoid this cabin for numerous reasons. This cabin is directly below the beverage area of the windjammer cafe. So you constantly hear ice being thrown (refilled) into the stainless steel holding bins above your head. Also hear carts rolling around and tables and chairs dragging around. I would recommend a cabin towards the front of this ship. It surprises me that the suites are on this level, as it's really a bad experience. Earplugs were necessary and I am an extremely heavy sleeper. The beds probably need to be replaced as well because it was like sleeping on rocks (lumpy), and I enjoy a stiff mattress. Aside from that and our cabin filter needing changed because of the terrible amount of dust and unhealthy air flow, it was a decent sized room. I just would have rather had an inside stateroom for a cheaper price considering what we had to deal with. Read entire member review >>
Small room, small bath, good storage.Worn sofa bed. Torn, dirty curtains. Great balcony! Half sun and half shade. 3rd Pullman bed drops from ceiling. Good a/c. Balcony divider is low so we were able to talk to family in adjacent room 7540. Quiet. Close to forward elevators. Read entire member review >>
Cabin was large and we enjoyed it. That said, we will rent junior suites in the future as the owner's suite is too big for us and since the extra perks RCI promises are virtually non-existent, we do not see the need for an owner's suite. We never met our cabin steward (I assumed that with the money you pay for a large suite, that you would get a little personalized service and/or attention, but no!). Our bathroom mirror was never cleaned and we did it ourselves each evening. Read entire member review >>
We made sure our 9550 D1 cabin was well away from public rooms and elevators with only staterooms above and below us and had no obstructed views. The room size was fine, but we would have preferred the new style with a side aisle "dressing room" between the bath and closets rather than the old style straight through walkway with closets on one side and bath on the other. Our cabin was about 212 sq.ft., OK roomy but not large. We spend so little time in the cabin, more on the balcony which was excellent as per my comments. The bathroom is small, not large enough for two people to get ready at the same time. There is a shower curtain instead of a plastic or glass door. The shower taps are unnecessarily difficult. Only shampoo and a small bar of soap is provided so we brought our own supplies. The bed was just OK, two singles put together. With the rounded edges my feet overhung every night. The TV was an older tube type with limited channels. The small fridge was full of expensive water and snacks. There are only two plugs for 110V so bring an extension cord or cheater. A basic hairdryer is supplied. The room safe is small, not large enough for a big camera. The pull out couch is comfortable and air conditioning adequate. We always take a small fan for air circulation and to drown out noise. Smoking on RCI balconies is allowed so sometime the smell drifts into the balcony and cabin. Other cruise lines we have been on does not allow this. RCI should address this issue. Closet space is adequate the the suitcases fit under the bed. A lot of fellow passengers were not aware of this and store their cases on the balcony. The plug in the bathroom is very low voltage and will not power up the hairdryer. We plugged a nigh light in the socket which came in handy at night. The toilet is typical cruise ship loud and we could hear our neighbour's toilet at all hours, not enough to wake up up though. Best to close the lid when flushing. The bedspread is very thick and too hot at night. We asked and received a nice blanket which worked out nicely. Read entire member review >>
9094 . Excellent location near central elevators. Had larger balcony which was wonderful. Closet space seemed bigger. Only problem was that toilet needed fixing 3 times during week. Read entire member review >>
9050 - large platform obstructs 25% of the balcony from top to bottom on the side the slider opens on. This is not mentioned on their website, and affects rooms on floors directly above and below.
9226 - Major Basketball noise AND vibrations 24/7. Seems to travel through the bones of the ship.
9544 - needs a little renovation, but is QUIET (except for neighbors of course) and has a lovely balcony Read entire member review >>
Cabin 9252, lovely nice size cabin, but it does have the window cleaning gantry stored in front of it, this makes this an obstructed view balcony, probably about 1/2 of the view is lost, would be better if the gantry was kept clean and painted instead of looking rusty and careworn. Cabin 9602-convenient and quiet location easily accessible to stairs and elevator; plenty of storage-liked combination shelving and hanging space in closet, also a lot storage surrounding the desk area which was a real plus, sofa sleeper which would be good if traveling with children, length of cabin made it feel a little bigger; balcony small but comparable to category; bathroom storage adequate; showers were very, very, small-think showering in place with an awful shower curtain that enabled water to easily flood the floor, bring your own toiletries as soap/shampoo combo not the best for your hair but there probably isn't room to mount two!; really liked the sconce lights by the bed which also had a small reading light on it; needs updated international plug adapters and mounted flat screen TV Read entire member review >>
Cabin 1088 The bathroom in our stateroom had an odor, as if the sewer smell was backing up into our Bathroom. It wasn't unbearable, but certainly wasn't pleasant. Otherwise, the cabin was great. The smaller over hang was not really an issue for us. There are areas on the ship that have a larger overhang over their balcony. Chairs moving on Deck 11 was not an issue for us either. It did not keep us awake at night. Read entire member review >>
Stateroom 9094 - On arrival at our stateroom we discovered a huge stain on the bed sheet and dirt on the cabinet drawer handles that you could set peas in! Brought this to the attention of the steward who apologised and made sure all was done by the time we had finished dinner. Noticed later that evening that the TV was thick with dust so wrote the words 'clean me' in the dust - it was cleaned the next day!!
No lotions etc in the bathroom. Just a bar of soap.
No chocolates on the pillows.
On a positive note our balcony was a reasonable size as we were fortunate to get one with an angle so we had a sun lounger as well. Read entire member review >>
Superior Ocean View, Cat D1, Deck 10, Rm #1590: The room was very nice with plenty of storage space. Jessica our cabin steward stopped by to introduce herself. We've been on a few cruises where we didn't see the steward until two days into the cruise. Jessica was on top of her game and did a wonderful job! She kept the room clean throughout the cruise. On our way to breakfast one morning I told her our toilet seat broke and by the time we returned it was fixed. There was a lot of ceiling noise in our room because we were directly below the Windjammer kitchen. The staff worked all through the night however, the noise wasn't a showstopper and didn't bother us at all. We still got more than enough rest and relaxation (R&R). Read entire member review >>
1590 - on the small side, wish it was a foot wider, when my son's "sofa bed" (it was literally on the floor) was open, we had only inches to get by & it was in the middle of the room. The length was fine, balcony was nice - the bath room was small, shower was tiny!! It was near the back of the ship, under the windjammer restaurant, which was fine until about 10:00pm when the started banging & moving things around. It went on till about 1:00am, we complained several times to different people & no one could believe they were making noise at that hour, except our neighbours. Then it started again about 6:30 - 7:00am, which made a wake-up call unnecessary. Read entire member review >>
Bed linen was worn and on one occasion there was a very small hole in the sheet - felt this was an area which more money needs to be spent to ensure top quality linen.
Steward was very nice and helpful but never straightened the bottom sheet of the bed - if you like sleeping on creases fine - otherwise be prepared to straighten your own bed before you get in.
Soft furnishings have the look of being a bit well used - could do with a freshen up.
Small fridges need to be supplied and flat screen TV's should be the norm now. The small TV we had was perfectly adequate but a flat screen would have added to making this the 4star stateroom more like a 4 star stateroom. Read entire member review >>
Small shower area but manageable.
TV needs better films on offer without charge and also flat screen should be available with the ability to hire DVD's for viewing at leisure.
Entertainment programme very similar to that of November 2008 so only a couple of variations on offer there.
Waiters very nice and so helpful but some little tweeks here and there would improve dining room experience immensely.
Stateroom curtains need to be a bit brighter as they are looking tired and dull.
Overall for a category D1 stateroom I was satisfied and room steward was very good although relationship took a few days to settle in as he seemed a bit abrupt at first. Read entire member review >>
The extra space on our balcony made room for a 2nd lounge. Location was close to library and elevators. Although we could hear the music from the centrum it was never a problem. We had no problem sleeping at night. Bathroom was great, lots of hot water, water pressure was great, no strange smells at all from the sewer. Read entire member review >>
Cabin number 9624. Unfortunately we heard alot of overhead noise. We think their is a family suite on the deck above us. We could hear slamming doors and running in the middle of the night. It made for a restless night sleep. Read entire member review >>
QUIET,aft balcony huge with two chairs and two lounges, storage adequate with room for suitcases under the bed; sewage odor in bathroom seems like a long-term issue that needs attention, shower curtain not so great. Read entire member review >>
